WDW Strollers OR third party rental?

I've been debating if we're going to rent a stroller or not, but have decided we are going to have to bite the bullet and rent one, my youngest DD will be newly 6 when we go, she is very petite (40lb) and has hyper mobile joints, low stamina and low muscle tone in her wrists and ankles and quite frankly I don't want to listen to the whining and crying that it's too much walking every 5 seconds for a week 🤦🏼‍♀️ so...a stroller it is...
my question is, what do people prefer, the big strollers you can rent in the parks? or an outside company like Kingdom Strollers? do the WDW strollers have any storage space?

It’s been years since we needed a stroller but we were very happy with the outside company. The ones in the park look really uncomfortable.

We rented a double when our youngest were 4, 4, and 6 from WDW. They didn’t need a stroller outside the parks, just one to cut down on the walking. So easy to hop in and out of, didn’t need something they could nap in since they weren’t toddlers (and the 9 and 11 year olds got no breaks).

Rent. That way you can use it going to and from transportation and your hotel room. You can also stop by guest services and get a red tag allowing you to use it in ride lines. Just explain why she may not be able to stand in line for long due to her medical problems.

yeah she definitely doesn't need in our daily lives but if we are going on a day trip somewhere or even a walk longer than an hour we usually take our collapsible wagon, partly because she genuinely can't tolerate long distance and partly because I just don't want to listen to whining and "choose your battles" is the parenting code I live by lol

You don’t have one to bring ? It may be cheaper and more convenient to buy one to bring . You can gate check and will have it the entire trip . If you plan on going again in the future you will have it . Btw when my twins were 6 we rented a stroller at Disney . They thought I was crazy but they really did need it . It’s a lot of walking for everyone.

no the girls are 5&7 we haven't had a stroller for years, we have a collapsible wagon but im not carting that through the airport, if we ever make a second trip it will be years away, we are not in a financial position (especially with exchange rates as we are Canadian) for Disney to be a frequent thing

also collapsible wagon are not allowed at Disney

If she has issues walking long distances, rent a stroller from an outside vendor. Disney strollers aren’t allowed out of the parks so you might appreciate having it to get to the busses or other transportation. You might also want to look into getting a stroller as a wheelchair tag so she can use the stroller in the lines.

There's also a couple FB groups that pass along all kinds of baby gear and strollers. Their only request is that you not keep the stroller and pass along the stroller to another family in the group. One of the groups is called Disney World Baby Gear Passalong. We personally haven't used any of the gear yet from that group, but we keep an eye out if there's anything useful when we head down.

thanks for the tip!

We rented a double from scooterbug, it was dropped off and picked up at Bell services.

I don't recommend the Bob Revolution, but for 8 days it was a little less than 200 dollars. I think the city mini is cheaper and an easier stroller to use. My kids are 4 years apart so we've never had a double.

We have rented from Kingdom Strollers once before and are doing so again this summer. We debated renting one last time we took our kids at 3 and 6 and we quickly learned what a great decision is was to have. There was magic in having the kids sit down in the stroller while us parents pushed the stroller and could have conversations without anyone complaining about it being too hot or not wanting to walk anymore. We even got stranded at the back of Epcot when a large storm system came through. We put the stroller cover over the kids and made the dash to the front buses. The kids stayed dry and happy. It's these memories that have us renting a stroller again---our youngest now 6 is small guy and most likely to complain and end up in tears walking long hot days in the park.

The advantage to renting from a third party is that you get to keep that stroller with you at all times. You don't have to worry about them running out of strollers in the park if you get there later. And the bonus is having somewhere for your child to sit while you might be waiting for the bus/boat versus standing too. It is also cheaper if you are planning on renting multiple days compared to being in the park.

i have two boys one will almost be 6 and one 3 and a half when we go.
we will definitely need a stroller, its a lot of walking for kids all day and my 6 year old will surely whine at some point lol.
anyone know if you can rent the stroller for the whole week at one fee, or do you have to re-rent one everyday?

Third party, you just choose the pickup and drop-off date

I think at the parks you can also have a length of stay rental, but those strollers stay in the parks

thanks for all the feedback!
I've decided to go with Kingdom Strollers! the fact that they have pick up and drop off at the airport is a huge plus
