This will be my first time staying at a WDW Resort. I'm going with my boyfriend in September. We are looking at the moderates and are considering the Coronado Springs. If anyone has stayed here could you post some comments about it (good or bad)? Also, if you have a preference with the moderates, please post that too!

Thank you!

I just wanted to say HI there and welcome to the DIS. You will LOVE WDW. Have a great trip. Sorry I can't help you w/ the mod's we have never stayed in one. But if you do a search of CSR you will find a questions and answers thread on the CSR that should help you out!

We just returned from our 8th trip to CSR and we still love it just as much as our first time back in 1998.

THE PROS
No sharing bus service with other resorts
Centrally located with short rides to ALL the parks
Largest hot tub on WDW property
Best main pool area (of the mods) with 3 quiet pools
New shuttle service eliminates walking to your village
High speed internet service
WiFi Service
Free use of the gym
Spa
Fridge in the room
Coffeemaker in the room
Iron and ironing board
full room service menu
2 arcades

THE CONS
Full size beds (king size beds are available)
one sink

IN THE MIDDLE
The Pepper Market is either a love it or hate it place. We love it but some folks just don't care for it.

Convention resort - some guests don't like seeing other guests at work. Doesn't bother us and helps keep the buses empty. GF, Cont, BW, Y & B Club are also convention resorts.

Check out my website below

Buzz covered it pretty well.

I think you can get rooms with one king bed which would eliminate the full size bed con Buzz listed.

We liked Pepper market, they give you alot of food so DW and I would split a meal. We really like the Wet Burrito.

We have stayed at Port Orleans and CSR, and liked CSR the best.

I love the Coronado. Its my favorite moderate resort! I haven't been to FQ yet so that could change but so far it is my favorite resort.

yes, you can get a king size bed. We love the wet burrito too. First thing I get every trip!

CSR is romantic for those who wish romance and fun for even the biggest fuddy duddy! The pool is awesome and the slide is cool. Pepper Market is by far the best restaurant for a moderate(better than some Deluxes IMHO)with the food always hot and fresh(some meals cooked right in front of you). Mayan Grill is expensive but very romantic. Both are on the Dining plan but I would check to see if Maya is 2 credits or 1.

The walk around the lake is not bad it is very relaxing. There are trams that go around if you are too pooped to walk. They have bikes and water mice(at least they had them last September).

CSR also has spa facilities, work out areas(free to those staying there) and the best darn staff around!

Thanks for all your input guys! I'm SUPER excited to go! I've been to WDW many times as a child, and in the past year I've been twice, but I've never stayed on-site at a resort before. I feel way more confident about my choice now. Thanks again!

Have a great trip!

We loved CSR when we stayed there! It's my favorite Moderate. I was pleasantly surprised after going Deluxe. If we can afford it at the time we go with a Deluxe, but if I had to go Moderate I would definitely stay at CSR again.

CSR is our favorite moderate!! Beautiful resort, great theme, great themed pool and the best food court in WDW! Highly recommend CSR! :sunny:

We enjoyed walking around this resort more than the others we have stayed at. The views from the path around the lake are amazing. The Maya Grill is wonderful (but yes - expensive for dinner...but a pretty reasonable breakfast buffet). The rooms are much more spacious than value resorts (or typica hotel rooms) and it was nice to spread out a little bit. A full sized vanity area in the bathroom with a curtain to block the light if one of you gets up before the other. Overall an excellent resort. I am sure you will love it!

CSR is one of my favorites. It has the same amount of land as WDW! Just a little Dis knowledge. I love it because after going through the big crowds all day...It is so nice to come back and feel as though your the only person at the Hotel. The resort is so broken up that you really feel the peacefulness and the calmness....
