WDW over Thanksgiving

Years ago, DH and I went to Disneyland over Thanksgiving, and it was awesome. We now live closer to WDW, we have a son, and finally the entire family is out of retail (Mom, the last hold out, retires this October) and many of us are living in the same town (my brother and niece and one of DH's sisters and her DH and DD)...so we can plan a family trip.

I am considering TGiving 2008. How are the crowds? DL wasn't bad at all, as it seems most people out West spend Turkey Day at home, but I am not so sure that will be the case at WDW.

We were there last Thanksgiving for 7 nights. We flew in on a Friday and flew out the Friday after Thanksgiving. The parks became increasingly more crowded as the week went on. We had cool weather until the end of the week. One thing I was suprised about was the EMH. The parks were still very crowded (it was a 150 minute wait to ride Soarin) the night Epcot was open late. However we were still in Disney with our extended family and we had a great time despite the lines!

I love WDW during Thanksgiving! The crowds are very light until Wed. and then become increasingly larger. The following Mon. it's dead again. However the best part is the weather. Who cares if you're standing in line if you're not melting into the ground! It's also a great way to get you into the Christmas spirit. I would suggest though decorating your home before you leave.:santa:

We went Thanksgiving week a few years ago - a group of 10. We thought it was great - light crowds, Christmas decorations, cool weather. We are planning another trip this year Thanksgiving week.
