Judith Anne -----> :scared:

I'm starting on my base and will spend the summer doing lots of local 5Ks just to keep me honest. My plan is to follow the MFM Full training schedule since the Half plan has worked so well for me. I'm just a little concerned about those TREMENDOUS L/Rs I will have to do in the late fall and winter. We're in New York and it gets mightly cold and icy so some of those will no doubt be on the TM, unless we get lucky with the weather. Problem is, we only have one TM and my husband is doing the Goofy. Hmmmm..... We'll figure it out. I'm worrying way ahead of schedule.

So who else will be out there with me in January doing the Full for the very first time? :grouphug:

2011 will be my first full too! I've done a 30K to see how a longer distance was and it was okay. I plan on doing another 30K on late August and will then start my full training in September.

I'm in Toronto so I'm expecting snow and cold weather too. I keep thinking I should have done the full this year because there was hardly any snow. Hopefully the weather will cooperate this year :)

I haven't decided if I will do the half or full, but I will definitely be doing one or the other for the FIRST time! :)

Well darn, I was going to say something clever, but Chester beat me to it.

And in fact looking at the dates here, I'm really late.

Anyway, Judith Anne, I will be doing the full and nothing else this coming January. Perhaps I'm getting smarter as I get older. But then again . . .

And this January Martha will be there with me for the duration of my stay. Or at least she better be.

Excellent! I like to maximize my Martha Marth time, especially now, before she heads West. ;)

Well, Craig, perhaps in January it will be your turn to escort me to someplace where I can quickly become horizontal. Or...I can use my old method and just faint on the pavement.

:thumbsup2 That would be me too!
My first half will be in September, followed by my first full in January.

The January 2011 full will be my second full. My first was last October and I discovered on race day that I need to change my training plan so this will hopefully be the first one I run as opposed to suffer through.

Like firedancer, January 2011 will be my second full. My first was WDW 2005 and I was desperately undertrained. I finished but it was painful then and for days after!

Sunday-Jan. 9,2011 will be my first Full

Saturday-Jan. 8,2011 will be my 2nd Half

Friday- Jan.7,2011 will be my 2nd 5K

I am only walking right now because my legs are not happy with jogging or running. Plenty of time to train but I will be happy if I can only walk the distances.

"opposed to suffer through" :scared:

"I finished but it was painful"

LA LA LA LA LA My fingers are in my ears, I can't HEAR you! LA LA LA LA LA! :upsidedow

Judy: I was so undertrained! I had only completet 9 miles in training and then went 26.2. I didn't even hurt until about mile 20 or 21! Not to worry, you'll be fine! Pain is temporary, pride is forever!

After 5 half marathons, this will be my first marathon. I'm super excited. I just hope I'll be able to walk around the parks afterward and show off my bling, as opposed to having to soak in the hottub all day after the race.:thumbsup2

You will do fine Judy. I was nervous before my first full in 2009 but made it through and actually had a good time. I had gone into it thinking it would be my one and only but then I went and did the Goofy this year and had a REALLY good time despite the cold weather - I think I may have forgot parts of it because I went ahead and registered with my charity to do Goofy again next year. So good luck and have fun for your first full.

DW and I are doing our first Disney Marathon in 2011 too! We're training for the Half but we've agreed that if our training goes ahead of schedule we'll aim for the Full and if that goes well too, we figured we might just do the Goofy!

Call us crazy, loco, nutty, but we are so excited!:thumbsup2
