I was wondering the same thing I think on Monday 1/14 and i was hearing it asked a few times over the week.

Just checked, DW's 5th Anniv medal is dated 2002.

That was my thought process

Found some pictures on another forum. The 5 year anniversary was 2002 and the 10 year was 2007, so I will have missed it by a couple of years.

Here's a picture of my 5th anniv and 10th year Duck.

So the first year wasn't Donald. What year did he become the medal? The first year I did the race was 2001 and it was the Duck.

Dang! So I did the 10th anniversary and there was nothing special about the medal. On a related matter, I was so hoping that the 5th anniversary of the Goofy would be a special medal as that might entice me to go for it. Hmmmm.

It is all about the medals, isn't it?

I am so glad they switched it to Donald because the first medal, not so pretty. Well not as pretty as a Donald one anyway.

Diane I'm not sure yet. It's a toss between WDW half or the Phoenix RnR half. Of course, I'd rather do Disney but DH, Steve, wants to try something different because we will probably do the Race for the Taste and definitely doing the Disneyland Half. Looks like I better make up my mind soon as the WDW half is filling up. Yikes! I MIGHT do the Goofy for 2010. MIGHT. Might not. Ha!

Buttercup thanks for showing us your medals. I definitely like the newer Donald medal. Now the older Goofy medals make sense - just a head outline like the old Donalds.

cobbler - The first medal is kind of "ugly" compared to the newer medals. However, I would have been proud to have one.
