I can't decide what to do. We have gone away in the summer and during March break before.:)

I loathe winter and having a nice get away near the end really helps me get through. Plus the kids have March break off, so no guilt about getting them out of school for a week. :thumbsup2

Summer is nice because I love the heat, and sometimes we don't get a great summer here in the Maritimes. There is also a bit more flexibility with planning as we have the entire summer to decide what week to go. Plus the carefree feeling of summer and having something to look forward to during those months:cheer2: . But..in the middle of January...it seems so far away. :confused3

What do you guys do? Winter or summer? or both? I am in the beginning stages of planning this summer but knowing that if I do that, no March break trip next year...UGH.:sad2:

I hate winter and have really enjoyed visiting WDW in February for me summer would be too hot

I look forward to a winter get away. We were in Florida 3 weeks ago. The weather was great and the lines at the parks were short.

We've gone during March break, late April, and August and for us, March is best. April is beautiful but you have the issue of school so that doesn't work. March is warm but not hot. You can do so much without getting overheated. We found the summer too hot to do too much. We could only go for a few hours and would need to get out of the heat. March is busy but with some planning, it is great. Plus, March trips get me through the January and February blahs!!

Both!!! We usually go for 7 - 10 days from just after Christmas through the end of the first week in January and also go for 7 - 8 days in the summer. In the summer DW and I in the middle of the humidity and heat look at each other and say "we're nuts" we should only come in the winter. In the winter when you get a couple of cold days in the 40s we look at each other and say "we're nuts" we should only come in the summer. In between the summer and winter we look at each other and say "I can't wait to go again...It really wasn't that hot or cold" :rotfl2:

1 week per year is just not enough of a holiday for me. We've decided March Break (kids really can't miss school) and August (I know - it's hot).

Somehow booking the August trip has given me renewed strength to get up everyday to go to work. So it costs more, but makes me go to work everyday with something to really look forward to.

Dec/Jan is just too cold for swimming and with little kids I always somehow end up in the pool.

So from now on it's March Break (I hear weather is great), and August (just to get a break from home - don't really plan on doing too much at the parks).

But if I had to pick between the two, it would definitely be March Break trip.

You guys are great :grouphug: . I would LOVE to go both August and March but part of my aprehension is the reaction we would get from others (you're going to Florida again?! :guilty: ).

The August trip I am trying to plan would be 'bare bones' and becuase it isn't winter, we can fly from Boston,Manchester,Bangor or Portland for cheap(er). March break trip is always flying from Halifax which adds a few thousand onto our planning.

I am very tempted to go this summer and March!! Thanks for the encouragement.:cheer2:

We are trying the August trip this year. We have friends going from England & that is when they can go. We are a little worried about the heat, but I am sure we will get throught it. I couldn't find any cheap flights from Halifax in August (approx $2000 for the 3 of us). I booked direct flights out of Portland on Jetblue for $683.00USD, well worth the drive and a couple of nights in a hotel. Plus you can haul more home with the van!!:thumbsup2

We've gone in January and February, because of cheaper rates and less crowds, but after our January trip this year, I have decided we will not go during those times again. The weather is too unpredictable. Sometimes you get warm weather - warm enough to wear shorts, swim, get a tan - other times it is down right cold - like our trip this January - temps ranged from 57° (daytime!) to 70° - not hot enough for me. The last time we went in February we got 2 hot days (mid 70's). Even though the resort prices and crowds are increased in March and April, it will be worth it to us to have better weather. Went once in November and the weather was awesome and the rates/crowds down, but I need the break near the end of our long cold Canadian winter!

DH never wants to take my kids out of school....but I do....lol. We usually go March or April for the weather....but now that DD is in high school and DS is struggling in school, we are considering summer too. S

We travel to Disney in Early Dec every year it is our absolute favourite time of year togo. You get to see the parks all decked out for x mas and the weather is generally great.
