I know there are threads about shocking and rude things people do at WDW but on our last trip, I kept noticing how many great people were there. I think WDW has the best guests of any themepark!

One example: On our last trip my bf and I found a spot to sit on the curb at the hub at the MK waiting to Hallowishes to start. My boyfriend decided he had to go to the bathroom so I had to save his spot for a few minutes. People saw there was a space there and kept running me over w/their stroller over and over again and stepping on me. A teenage girl on the other side of the spot saw this and smiled and said "No matter where I sit I always get stepped on, too" and she took her sneakers off her feet and put them in the spot so no one would take my boyfriends space. I thought that was so sweet!! :flower:

I agree that there are more nice people at WDW than rude. I was there in Sept with my son and D-I-L. We found a perfect spot to wait for Spectromagic on a curb by the hub. Just before it started we noticed two families with small kids behind us. We told the parents to let them come up to where we were and we'd keep an eye on them. The family with one girl put her beside of me and the family with two little girls put the oldest between me and my D-I-L, but just plopped the youngest (about 3y/o) right on my D-I-L's lap. I don't know who was more surprised the little girl or my D-I-L. My D-I-L has always been a magnet for kids and this one proved no exception. All during the parade she kept grabbing my D-I-L's face and saying 'look, look'. She was so cute! After the parade the other two girls went back to their parents, but the little one just stood up with my D-I-L and kept holding her hand with an almost dazed, happy look on her face, in no particular hurry to go back to her parents. I know my D-I-L was missing my 7 month old grandson that was back home with his other GM and being able to share the magic of Spectro with a child like that was so special. She wasn't ours, but how special is it that someone would let a complete stranger hold their child like that and let us enjoy the parade through the eyes of a child. I think we enjoyed watching her complete awe as much, if not more than we enjoyed the parade and I thank the parents of that child for letting us.

What lovely stories, in the uk if you go to any theme park its all pushing and shoving, very rude people (not all British I'd like to add) but when we go to WDW there are sooo many people who just want to strike up conversation with us and they are so friendly, I know people complain about line jumpers etc but we've never experienced anything other than complete warmth :goodvibes

We've struck up a conversation at so many parades with wonderful people.

My husband is a magnet for being the "photographer". I'm amazed at how many people hand him the camera and ask it he would take thier picture. He is so quiet and shy, it always makes me smile when someone does this. :flower:

Funny that you should mention the strangers kids enjoying the parade with you. On our last trip, during Indy's show over at MGM there was a family with two little girls. One was about 7 and the other was a toddler. From the moment they sat down in front of us, the toddler was just totally into looking at my lanyard. I had a Mickey pin that she really wanted to inspect a little more closely. She kept reaching back and pointing. The show started and she persisted in her efforts despite her mother's best efforts to distract her. She was about to enter early stages of melt down and I said, "Oh, just give me that baby!" The mother looked a bit worried like I might run off with her, but I guess the reality of being in a huge theater full of people gave her some comfort that I wasn't going to run off with the kid. The little girl came right to me, sat on my lap and enjoyed the look at my pins through the rest of the show. She was a beautiful little redheaded babydoll! Her mom and dad and the rest of the people around us were able to enjoy the show finally....which was a bonus. I love kids....heck, I better, I work in a pediatric office. We don't have any of our own. When the show was over, I handed the little one back to her mother. I gave her mother the Mickey pin off of my lanyard that her daughter was so curious about and gave a pin to the older daughter too. I love that memory of our last trip. Maggie

It's funny because people do the same with me. Even when I don't have a camera, they ask me before they ask my DH. My DD loves helping when we are on a bus and someone looks like they need help getting off. Until recently she loved babysitting, but she is now at the age (18) where she likes to get out and do things with her friends more.
