WDW Goofy Challenge at 85%

According to the website this morning, the Goofy challenge is now at 85% capacity!

If you are planning to do the Goofy and haven't signed up, you need to do so quickly!!

I'm glad I registered. Saw in someone else's post after speaking on the phone with the RD--I thought it was mentioned that they might increase the capacity of the goofy.

But WOW!!!

Did the goofy-ites get something super special this year for it to be almost full less than 1 month post-event???

That is surprising. The Goofy is quite an endurance event. I guess the WISH warriors who completed it this year have inspired us.

Something like this does give you a unique challange.

In the meantime, I sent in registration via mail over 2 weeks ago & still see not charge on my cc, this is making me nervous...This is also why I didn't take advantage of the DVC discount last time i registered for the 1/2.

I sent in my application two weeks ago also, and still have not seen a charge to my card. I called and they told me to email them with my info and they'll email me back sometime today or tomorrow. They better!

I sure hope they are understanding about entries that were post marked before the race was filled.

Hmmm, when you email them could you also ask if the Goofyites are getting the anniversary medal - it's still saying on the website that it's a Mickey. I emailed them re that just to check and have had no reply, but the reason I'm doing it this year is the 'special' medal. I'll be seriously sad if I don't get one.

I think that the special anniversary medal will be given to anybody finishing the full marathon, so that should include all of us Goofy-ites.

I'm in the same boat as you. I mailed in my app on Jan 11 or 12, and have seen no confirmation or charge on my Visa. Do you have the number to call?

You can email Steve@emmi.com and he is quick to respond as he is Registration Manager. When I talked with Jon on the phone, I mentioned I mailed my DVC app 4 days after the Goofy and was hoping they got it, said don't worry. I expect they are just trying to get over the flood of applications this early after the race. They were probably looking for a breather but that ain't going to happen!

I can't imagine Disney would create 2 different medals for the marathon finishers of the Goofy and regular marathoners. Too many problems caused! I think it is an oversight and haven't updated that page on their website.

I finally got through to Steve yesterday (after several calls to other people in the wrong depts.) He called back & left a message, & e-mailed me that he had received my app. & i'd get a postcard soon. Phew

Nice guy, so do what UltraMickey says & e-mail him for peace of mind.

The charge for the Goofy, and my DW's Donald, showed up on my Visa today. I'm still trying to understand why I'm so glad to see a charge show up on my Visa.

I sure hope my wife doesn't try to continue making me happy this way.
