Hello everyone!

*Try to create a new way for questions relating to Couples only trips to WDW to stand out in the forum. By adding WDW for couples in the name of the thread.*

DH and I are going to stay at the Art pf Animation for 2 nights in November. I was wondering what you thought of the resort, romantically speaking?

I think we had to be young at hearth to appreciate it (I think I will) but I'm used to romantic resorts like PR, AKL, CSR and POFQ...

I'd like to know what to expect.... Thanks in advance!

Because it has mostly family suites, we found it very...full of young people. (We were staying at POP and went over to look around/check the place out one drizzly afternoon). It had some cool decor stuff and I liked it overall, certainly for the young at heart, but I don't know that I'd call it "romantic." That said, I don't know that a WDW hotel has to be romantic for a couple to enjoy it. It all depends on what you're looking for: if you want somewhere quiet and sophisticated to unwind, AoA may not be it; if you want somewhere fun with a different style of room and really cool giant sketches everywhere, then absolutely go for it.

I think it all depends on what is your definition of romantic.

I haven't stayed at AoA, but from pictures I can tell the theme is loud and bright, and very appealing to young kids. But that doesn't mean it can't be romantic. If you consider going to a theme park for "kids of all ages" romantic, then I'm sure AoA will be great! AoA a just screams Disney, and if Disney is your happy place then go for it. DH and I can have a romantic night at home with pizza and Netflix, dressed to the nines at a ball, a weekend at the beach, white water rafting, a Metallica concert, WDW.... It's all about being with one you love.

I wouldn't consider it romantic during the day, but I can see how some couples might find it romantic to walk around the grounds at night. It's very nicely themed and the walk around hourglass lake is very peaceful in the evening.

I wouldn't say there's a whole lot of "romance" going on at AoA. It IS one of my favorite resorts to stay at, but is very kid friendly, lots of kids, and lots of BIG, DISNEY stuff going on.

For top romantic resorts, I'd pick anything in the BW area (Yacht & Beach club & boardwalk)

We love bright colors and fun ... but we are hoping to find a little romantic/quieter ambiance at night. Maybe having a drink...

It's just a bit difficult to imagine how it is at a value resort when used to moderates/deluxe.

That is why we are trying for 2 nights...
