Day 5 ~ July 23, 2009 cont.
Epcot!! (yay) and an evening at the Poly
Ahhhhh...Epcot.
By the time we got there it was probably around 4 and wait times were out of control!! FPs were sold out, too, so we just went right back to World Showcase.
We rode the Gran Fiesta Tour (that had a line again, btw!), then got a couple of margaritas. After a few minutes, the heat (and margaritas) were starting to take a toll on us so we just walked sloooooowwwly around the lagoon.
By the time we came to the UK, we came across this.....OK! Don't have to tell us twice!
I do love this bar. And I don't just mean the whole place, I mean the actual bar itself.
Tom got another of his favorite...Boddington's
This was the wait times we saw on the way out!! Look at Test Track!!!
CRAZY!! And what is the deal with Mission:Space? It's supposed ot be this big E-ticket thrill ride and it's not popular at all! The fact that TT is 130 mins and MS is only 10 just goes to show it was NOT a success and someone else could be much more useful in it's place.
After just one trip around WS, we decided to make it an early night and head back to the Poly to enjoy our resort.
Look what we found on our bed when we got back!
After a shower, I put on my new lei and off we went to the Poly beach!
We went to the pool bar first to get a couple of Pina Colavas and then went to the beach.
We sat on a swing for a little, then got up to sit in a chair when I hear my name!! It's Tinkerbell60 and her daughter!! They spotted my backpack from their concierge lounge! We had a very nice chat with them for a few minutes as we nursed our Pina Colavas. (Can you see the castle in the background of this picture??Hint: It's on my side.) This makes DISer number 4!!!
After they went back to enjoy their treats in their private lounge, we decided that these Pina Colavas are GROSS!! There must have been something wrong with the machine because it was all goopy and almost curdled like old milk. YUK! So we chucked them and Tom went and got us two more drinks. (I don't remember what but they were much better.)
We settled in some beach chairs for the Electric Water Pageant. Now the first time I saw this was on a family trip when we stayed at the Contemp. I remember it vividly because we didn't know about it and saw it from our balcony. It was like it was just for us! I was 9 years old....it was 1990...and I honestly don't think they've changed it AT ALL since the first time I've seen it.
"Everybody do the dinosaur!" Seriously, they play that song!
This is my favorite part. I love patriotic music!
Now, I forgot to say that at some point this morning, Tom started complaining that his elbow hurt a little. Remember, last night was the crazy night at the Rose and Crown and apparently after I went to sleep, he ventured out to a hammock...and you know how tricky those can be! So he just assumed that he banged it at some point last night..........just keep this in mind.
Up Next: Animal Kingdom and....you guessed it, EPCOT! Lunch at the Biergarten!
