WDW/DCL Western Caribbean Honeymoon Extravaganza!! DONE!!! - PG 51!!

Still reading and loving every update.

What a great husband you have! So sweet of him to go off and find you that pretzel and frozen lemonade. :lovestruc It is the small gestures that mean the most.

love your updates Nikki but I have to admit... I am still stuck on drunk in the rain in an empty Epcot taking the long way out...:cloud9:-the stuff daydreams are made of!:goodvibes

Thanks for another update. That hidden Mickey in the onion rings is so funny!

:thumbsup2

Keep the updates coming, i've got less than 4 weeks to go now. :cool1:

It'll go so fast!

Thanks! I only took them off for rides and to sleep! :bride:

I can't tell you how many little girls I saw just staring up at them in awe! It was the cutest thing!! A few times I even heard them say, "Mommy, look at her ears!"

Just to make it clear just how excited I was at this moment, I have to say, Illuminations is my FAVORITE nighttime show! I love the music, I love the fireworks, I love the globe, I even love the lasers! I love Epcot so much, that in my classroom every morning, I play Epcot Entrance Music while the kids come in, unpack and get started on their morning work. After that, Illuminations plays and when it's done, we can start the day.

I love this! I am totally doing this with my class this year. Where did you download the music?

I was laughing during your last update--I did the exact same thing as you! I really wanted a hot pretzel from Min and Bill's and was not to happy that they were gone.

You should totally do it!! Well, my sister made the cds for me and she got the files from someone on the DIS a few years ago who had Disney Park Audio, and it's since been removed. Sometimes I play my Happiest Celebration on Earth CD so you could try something like that, the cds that they sell in the parks.

Yeah, what's up with that, Min and Bill??

Day 5 ~ July 23, 2009 cont.
Epcot!! (yay) and an evening at the Poly

Ahhhhh...Epcot.

By the time we got there it was probably around 4 and wait times were out of control!! FPs were sold out, too, so we just went right back to World Showcase. :thumbsup2

We rode the Gran Fiesta Tour (that had a line again, btw!), then got a couple of margaritas. After a few minutes, the heat (and margaritas) were starting to take a toll on us so we just walked sloooooowwwly around the lagoon.

By the time we came to the UK, we came across this.....OK! Don't have to tell us twice!

I do love this bar. And I don't just mean the whole place, I mean the actual bar itself.

ry%3D480

Tom got another of his favorite...Boddington's
ry%3D480

This was the wait times we saw on the way out!! Look at Test Track!!!
ry%3D480

CRAZY!! And what is the deal with Mission:Space? It's supposed ot be this big E-ticket thrill ride and it's not popular at all! The fact that TT is 130 mins and MS is only 10 just goes to show it was NOT a success and someone else could be much more useful in it's place.

After just one trip around WS, we decided to make it an early night and head back to the Poly to enjoy our resort.

ry%3D480

Look what we found on our bed when we got back!
ry%3D480

After a shower, I put on my new lei and off we went to the Poly beach!

We went to the pool bar first to get a couple of Pina Colavas and then went to the beach.

We sat on a swing for a little, then got up to sit in a chair when I hear my name!! It's Tinkerbell60 and her daughter!! They spotted my backpack from their concierge lounge! We had a very nice chat with them for a few minutes as we nursed our Pina Colavas. (Can you see the castle in the background of this picture??Hint: It's on my side.) This makes DISer number 4!!!
ry%3D480

After they went back to enjoy their treats in their private lounge, we decided that these Pina Colavas are GROSS!! There must have been something wrong with the machine because it was all goopy and almost curdled like old milk. YUK! So we chucked them and Tom went and got us two more drinks. (I don't remember what but they were much better.)

We settled in some beach chairs for the Electric Water Pageant. Now the first time I saw this was on a family trip when we stayed at the Contemp. I remember it vividly because we didn't know about it and saw it from our balcony. It was like it was just for us! I was 9 years old....it was 1990...and I honestly don't think they've changed it AT ALL since the first time I've seen it.

"Everybody do the dinosaur!" Seriously, they play that song!
ry%3D480

This is my favorite part. I love patriotic music!
ry%3D480

Now, I forgot to say that at some point this morning, Tom started complaining that his elbow hurt a little. Remember, last night was the crazy night at the Rose and Crown and apparently after I went to sleep, he ventured out to a hammock...and you know how tricky those can be! So he just assumed that he banged it at some point last night..........just keep this in mind. ;)

Up Next: Animal Kingdom and....you guessed it, EPCOT! Lunch at the Biergarten!

We saw the Water Pageant form our balcony. I tried to make it down to see it once, but on the beach of the CR, I was attacked by mosquitos.

Still loving the updates, Nikki! I have also stood in that same spot in Germany during the rain. Too funny...and I'm so happy that you had such great seats for IllumiNations (I *love* IllumiNations, too!)...

LOL about the "suspicious blonde" -- the funny thing is that I had just had my hair done right before our trip...I used to be really blonde (yeah, bad choice on my part) and about a year and a half ago I went back to my natural dark hair color...but I have a lot of gray hair so when I had my hair appointment the day of our trip, my hairdresser said that the only way to cover the gray was to start putting some blonde back in. She had to talk me into it b/c I didn't want to go totally blonde again. LOL

I am excited to find out how you liked Biergarten -- I made an ADR for my parents there for our upcoming trip in October!

I agree with you on MS -- waste of space! They should put in a different ride. Of course, that's another ride I've never ridden so I guess I'm not one to talk... :lmao:

hehehe

You will NOT be disappointed in Biergarten!

Ugh, believe me, you are not missing much wby not riding Mission Space. We rode it once (before they opened the milder version) and it was not fun. It's really just a few minutes of being uncomfortable. Not thrilling, just uncomfortable.

Another awesome update! It's so much fun that you got to meet some DISers on your honeymoon! Looking forward to more!

Thanks! I know, it was so cool to see everyone because I never met a DISer in WDW before!! Thank god for my ears and orange backpack because I didn't recognize ANYONE, it was always everyone else who approached US.

Wooops!! I forgot to mention that while we were in Epcot we ran into ANOTHER random Photopass Photog. Remember, so far we saw one near Norway on the lagoon in WS, then it was the Speeder Bike and this time...France! It could not have been more perfect! Photogs in places I've never seen before, the ONE time I pre-order the CD. AND IT JUST GOT BETTER!!!
