Day 5 - July 23, 2009
DHS and lunch at Sci-Fi
Tom slept in a little this morning so I decided it was a good time to do some laundry. This was the first time I ever did laundry on vacation but it was pretty easy, aside from the fact that the vending machine stole my $$ the first time I tried to buy detergent.
I also took this opportunity to enjoy (and take pics of) the view from the Poly beach. Also, not being in a rush to go anywhere, I was really able to appreciate the attention to detail put into the atmosphere of the Poly. I even saw people working on various things throughout the resort. Some men were painting lamp posts, other people were discussing the plants, etc. It was really nice to see. Good job, Disney!
This condensation was KILLING ME!! Epecially on the cruise. It was nearly impossible to take pictures of things without waiting a few minutes for the camera to get used to the humidity and temperature change from the air conditioned room to the HOT outside!
Now, that's better.
Really, the only reason we were going back to DHS was because we had and ADR for Sci-Fi AND had planned to meet with Christy (PopArtGal) at 3. So after a relaxing morning, we were on our way to DHS by around 11.
The first thing we did was go and get a FP for TOT since we hadn't ridden that yet and it's one of my favorite rides.
I have this problem where I like to recreate things that were nice memories from a previous trip. Well, I have this memory of getting a pretzel and frozen lemonade from Min and Bill's Dockside Inn, so, since I was getting hungry, I decided that's what I wanted!
Only problem was, Min and Bill's no longer SOLD pretzels and frozen lemonade!

That made me a little upset and when I get that way, instead of looking for another place that sells what I'm looking for I get mad and say, "Just forget it!"
So Tom wanted to look in the Indiana Jones store and I went and had a seat by the lake (same deal with Once Upon a Toy...you know). So what do you know but not 5 minutes later, here comes Tom, with a frozen lemonade and a pretzel!! YAY!!!
We still hadn't ridden Star Tour, which is one of Tom's favorites, so we walked over that way and the line was only about 15 minutes...but we still had our drink. We hung around for a few minutes to finish up our drink before getting on line...
Well, JUST as we were ready to get in line, Jedi Training AND the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular let out and it seemed like EVERYONE was getting in line.....so we decided to skip it.
We walked back over to the "hat" and decided to ride the Great Movie Ride. It was getting pretty hot that day we we slowly strolled over to TOT to wait for our FP time. We waited for a few minutes and finally our time came up and as we walked up, there was NO ONE in the standby line! (Although the wait time said 20 mins) We could've just gone that way! It's so random though, you just never know when there's going to be a spurt of people, like at Star Tours, so I thought about going again in the standby line but it would've been just our luck that by then the line was an hour long!! We got a GREAT random elevator on our ride so we were satisfied with TOT and decided to see if we could get into Sci-Fi early.
As luck would have it, as we walked over to Sci-Fi we saw a Photopass photographer by the Speederbike!! Now, if we couldn't ride Star Tours, some nice photopass pics with the speeder bike was a nice substitute!
