WDW/DCL Western Caribbean Honeymoon Extravaganza!! DONE!!! - PG 51!!

love the TR so far Nikki! :goodvibes

For my December trip with my sister, we are planning a wander around World Showcase and sample some cocktails as we go (she is 21 this year so we're celebrating!).. so your photos of the margeritas etc are great! :thumbsup2 lol

I agree with you about PI... I had been to the Adventurer's Club a few times and loved it (fond memories of getting the barmaid to lower DBF's bar stool to the ground by 'magic' on his first visit there!)
It's so sad to walk past it now and see it.. yet it still looks like you could walk straight in?! I heard the Disneyland Hongkong is expanding and going to have an AC restaurant, so a lot of the artifacts are going to be shipped over there :sad2:

Emma princess: x x

I'm so glad Tom's kidney stone adventure is now over...NOT fun! So glad it didn't happen while you were on vacation!

I would be right there with you and Christy and the label maker, labeling everything in sight...I need to get one of those...I've wanted one for a while!

When I move out next year we'll have a party lol

I bought my labelmaker at Wal Mart for 30$. The recharges are 6 to 8 dollars. Depending on color or black. It works well.

So we kept on walking through and Tom snapped this pic of me with SE. I LOVE SE, can you tell!
ry%3D400

Love it too!!! And awesome pic!!!:thumbsup2

I feel the same way about the burger AND the no way jose- but, the way I look at it is, if the burger was bigger, and juicier, and fatter, I would NEVER be able to dig into that No Way Jose the way that I want to....and THAT would be a freakin' TRAGEDY!!!! NWJ rocks!!! One of the best desserts- and my most FAVORITE ice cream dessert, on the planet!:cheer2::cheer2:

The only time I ever went to PI for REAL (other than with Loni last year, but we didn't go in anywhere, too busy gabbing:hyper2:) was when it WAS the POP admission- it was a GREAT place- even with us having to pay a babysitter to stay in the room with Sean & Tyler (who were 3 and 5 mos at the time!!!!!:scared1:). I understand your pain, girlfriend!

Thanks!! How fun for you and your sister!

I didn't hear that about Disneyland Hong Kong...interesting! But if they start dismantling it to shop stuff over, I will be SOOOO sad!! :sad2:

OK! :thumbsup2

Love the Test Track picture! Too funny!

Thanks! We always do a funny Test Track picure. The people who sit in the car with us always get a kick out of it when they show it just before you get off the ride, since they usually have no idea we're posing!!

I thought the border was appropriate! ;)

Half my pics from Epcot are of Spaceship Earth!! Wait until I get to the part AFTER lunch at the biergarten (complete with beer flight AND 2 more Spaten Optimators). We took like a hundred pics all around SE! I promise I won't post them all!!

You are absolutely right about Beaches and Cream. I will definitely be back for more No Way Joses in the future!! Can you get it at the take out counter??

Glad you were able to enjoy PI and understand how great of a place it used to be. :sad2:

That picture Tom took of us turned out so good Nikki!!! Boy you two move fast, you weren't gone from me that long to be as far as you had gotten. :rotfl: My dd is very upset with your pic with Marie, she is her favorite and has never run into her. :sad1: Oh well, she did get a stuffed one in HS to bring back home with her. :)

We DO move fast! Aww, too bad your daughter didn't get to meet Marie. Seriously, she was all alone in front of the Fountain of Nations so we just jumped in for a pic.

And by the way, the gift shop in France had a LOT of Marie merch. You can't really tell what they have in this picture, but if you want me to pick anything up for your daughter, I am going back down in the beginning of October. Just let me know! I'd be happy to do it!
ry%3D400

Ugh, I keep forgetting the photopass pics in the chronology!!

This was taken on the walk back from Beaches and Cream after we saw Poppins and the Off Kilter groupies, on our way out.

Thank you, that is so sweet of you to offer. She is really fine though, that large stuffed Marie you see in the bottom of your picture is the one she bought. We really don't do stuffed animals anymore but she couldn't walk away from this one, I'm glad she got it. Now if you could bring back that Marie you and Tom were photographed with that would be great!!! :lmao:

Oh boy! Wait til I show my DH the Beaches and Cream pics!:cloud9: I wanna go back! I wanna go back!
glad to hear of the stone "passage" and that it wasn't too uncomfortable:thumbsup2

Day 2 cont.
Dinner and Beaches and Cream and DTD

Okay, so after a few rides in Future World, we decided on Beaches and Cream for dinner. We had wanted to go there for a long time and since we were in Epcot, we figured this was the perfect opportunity.

We walked through the international Gateway, stopping shortly for a pic with Poppins, and made our way to The Beach Club. Once there is was kind of confusing to get to Beaches and Cream since we didn't know exactly where it was. We somehow ended up walking right through the pool area! Woops!
ry%3D400

Finally, we made it!! There weren't many people outside waiting but we were asked if we wanted table, booth, counter or first available and were given a pager.
ry%3D480

We were seated at the counter after about 10 minutes and I was surprised at actually how small it is inside! There were literally 3 booths, a few tables and maybe 12 counter seats. This is a picture of the ENTIRE restaurant.
ry%3D400

Anyway, we both ordered flavored diet cokes and we decided to split a meal so we can get onion rings and ice cream for dessert! While we waited for our food, we saw the famous Kitchen Sink being made.
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

The onion rings were delicious!!
ry%3D480

The hamburger was very good. I guess it was better than the ones in the parks but the way people have been talking about them, I was expecting like a Fuddruckers burger or something.
ry%3D480

After dinner, we ordered the No Way Jose! I've had my eye on this one since I first looked at the menu on Allears!
ry%3D480

Good thing we split the hamburger because I was going to finish this dessert if I was full or not!
ry%3D400

After dinner, we walked back through Epcot to get on the monorail back to the Poly. We walked through the UK and then Canada and Off Kilter was playing!
ry%3D480

I know a lot of people love them. I never really stopped to enjoy the show but I always get a kick out of when they play because I can appreciate that so many people love them. Well, I couldn't believe what I saw next! Three CMs from Canada where standing behind the seats, almost right on the walkway, dancing their behinds off, hooting and hollering and holding up this sign!! I HAD to get a pic of them because I thought it was just the funniest thing!! (I wish they had more energy in this picture! As soon as I came over and asked them if I could take a pic, they just stopped and posed. Oh well!)
ry%3D400

So we kept on walking through and Tom snapped this pic of me with SE. I LOVE SE, can you tell!
ry%3D400

The monorail gets off at the TTC and from there we took the walkway to the Poly...

lovin yer trip report!

:rotfl2::rotfl::banana::yay::rolleyes1Thanks for the photos of the ice cream shop - I believe it's right down from where we'll be staying (Boardwalk) and my DH thinks ice cream is or should be it's OWN food group. His name is Jose... I just showed him your photos and he has agreed, that is the one he wants to try... after all it's his name sake!

HI!! Just found your TR and I have to say your Disney themed wedding was so awesome! Congrats:goodvibes

Also, great start to your trip! LOVE Ohana!! You are so lucky to be staying at Poly! I hope to stay there for my Dec 2010 trip!

I wanted to ask how long is the walk to Beaches? I did not realize it was so close?! I have kids, so I wanted to make sure it wasnt too far off. I would like to go check it out when we go back! Can't wait to read more:)

PS: We are also doing the cruise in Dec 2010 after a short stay at the Poly!! Can't wait to see how you liked that as well:cheer2:

Yes the Beach Club is in the same area as the Boardwalk. Definitely go for the No Way Jose!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for reading! Glad you are enjoying the TR!

The walk from Epcot to Beaches and Cream isn't that bad...relatively. Once you are out of the International Gateway, it's the first hotel you pass. If you're at The Seas with Nemo and Friends and decide the next stop is Beaches and Cream, it's might seem far. So I would plan to be in World Showcase for a little while before going. :thumbsup2

PS: We are also doing the cruise in Dec 2010 after a short stay at the Poly!! Can't wait to see how you liked that as well:cheer2:

Hopefully, it won't take me until October to get to the cruise portion of this TR, but at the rate I'm going....;)

Day 3 - July 21, 2009
Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom

The most important thing about this day was the we get to AK for EMH. I have never seen AK at night and I reeeeally wanted to be able to see what it looked like so I probably planned this day in AK before planning any other day!!

I also had an ADR for 7:50 at Kona Cafe this morning. (Tom was oblivous to the fact that we had ADRs for 2 restaurants at the Poly!) But since Tom swayed from the plan and got the Tonga Toast the day before...and since he didn't love it, we decided the night before to cancel the ADR. By then it was too late to call so I woke up really early and before even getting out of bed, I reached over to call WDW Dining and cancel. The woman I got on the phone was kind of shocked but seems really appreciative that I called to cancel. I don't think it really would have made much of a difference, though, because we actually DID end up eating there the day we left for the cruise and the restaurant was half empty. Oh well.

Anyway, we made it to DHS for opening and headed straight to Toy Story Mania. We hadn't been since this opened. I was hoping that since it has been open for a year now, the crowds would have subsided a tad but considering the rest of DHS doesn't have much going on, we encountered HUGE crowds!

This is what we found when we got to Pixar Place...Yes that's a looooong line JUST to get a Fast Pass!
ry%3D400

Actually, the line started well before you even get INTO Pixar Place. We were way past One Man's Dream!!

Seriously? :confused3 The park just opened!
ry%3D480

Tom got our FPs for us and we were OUT of there! The return time was somewhere around 11/11:30.
ry%3D400
[/IMG]

What a relief to get out of that crowded area! We made our way past the Backlot Tour to the Streets of America, where it was pretty much empty.
ry%3D400

Tom stopped to do a little shopping...he did this quite often. And he's always get on the phone with his friend (also Disney fanatic and into the same, hmm, how can I put this nicely, "collector's items", that Tom is into.)
ry%3D480

I had to take a pic of Tom at THIS stand, in particular, because it sold some of the merchandise that we have at the World of Disney store in Manhattan. I thought it was cool that they put some of it here!!
ry%3D480

From there we walked AAAALLLL the way over to check out the lines for TOT and RNRC and both lines were way to long to wait and we already had a FP for TSM. But we did get some nice Photopass pics.
ry%3D400

Okay, while I'm thinking about it, I just have to say this about DHS. That park is messed up!! There is no rhyme or reason to how this place is set up. I feel like anytime I want to go from one thing to another, I have to walk across the whole park. You get a FP for TOT and by the time it comes up, you're all the way on the other side!! Not only that, but there really isn't a lot to do. I mean, they have those two big "streets of america" that are basically nothing. Maybe if they put some more attractions over there, I wouldn't feel like I had to move around so much to get places. Anyone else feel this way about DHS? It's frustrating, really!

So after walking ALL the way to TOT, we walked back towards Star Tours. Also too long of a line so Tom did a little shopping in the gift shop. We hit up MuppetVisioin 3D and then we went to check out the new American Idol Experience. I have to say, I really enjoyed this and I think it was an excellent addition to DHS.
ry%3D480

Anybody recognize this judge?? He played the "Simon" character, complete with British accent but you may remember him as, yet another actor from the Adventurer's Club!!!! I was happy to see him! :goodvibes
ry%3D400

The three singers were all really good and I thought #2 really had a chance at making it past the first round on the real AI. She was young, cute and very talented....well #3 won. She was from Brazil.......so was half the audience....

After the show, it was time for our TSM ride. After the ride, we decided we had had enough of this park and left to hop on over to the Animal Kingdom!!

You didn't say Toy Story Mania was awesome- Wasn't it??
Love all of your photos!:wave

It was very fun! And definitely much needed in that park. But they need to put something else in quick to draw crowds away. It was so uncomfortable just being in that area with the crowds, we just wanted OUT after we rode it!
