Card count as of now is 32, only missing 6 but since 2 cards you can't get, it brings it down to 4 and a totally different way to try getting them. Oh yeah, haircut at noon.'

received this from Ron at 11:31 am.

"Fwd: Got a call from Amtrak looks I got a bonus day they already canceled so we are stuck in WDW oh no haha."

Just found this thread and I love it. I'm not alone anymore. I'm a Commando!!!! LOL

I am the total commando of our group. We went last year in Sept. Our first trip ever. I spent the year previous to our trip meticulously planning our trip. I bought about 7 books on Disney trip planning. I made out detailed itinerary for each and every day of our trip. I even made t-shirts for each day for everyone in our group of which my favorite design had Mickey, Eeyore, Pinocchio, Tigger, the Cheshire cat, and Cinderella dressed in camouflage and on the back it said Mission Disney.

We stuck to the itinerary fairly close just had a couple snafus and had to adjust for it but we were at rope drop every day. And did not get back to our hotel until well after the parks closed. (granted we stayed off-site) But I wore out most of our group to the point my poor hubby came down sick the last day.

I had a large three ring binder with all my info in it. My reservations, ADRs, park maps, menus, travel maps (we drove), and all other info i deemed necessary. I even made up index cards for each day to carry with me.

I am already planning for next year's trip. I have my three ring binder, basic itinerary (just which park which day), menus, and looking at which resort where we are going to stay. We decided (with a little push from me...lol) to stay on site next year.:cool1:

Anyways I will be spending some time looking over this thread as well as several others planning our next Disney Commando trip. We will still run hard but I have planned a couple recovery days for this trip. I don't want anyone to come down  this time. Yes I am a bit of a control freak but not at the expense of anyone's heath.

Received this from Ron a little bit ago.

"Sitting in Ohana's in the last hour I scored all 3 bus cards, 1 monorail & a pin but hope to score a bunch more tonite, got a felling I'll be getting dups luck has it that I share.

He got them all while in Ohana???????

I'm back:yay: I'll clear this up alittle:confused3

Going to dinner at Ohana's we took the bus from HS to Epcot (3 bus cards), then took the monorail from Epcot (my son asked the girl there if she had any cards, but she did not, but let him pick a pin from her sasche:woohoo:)from Tickets & Transpottation to the Poly my son asked the guy there and got a card:cool1:, then we had dinner at Ohana's, after dinner my son scored 3 cards at the Poly monorail station:woohoo: when we got off the monorail at MK we walked over to the Transportation booth and there were some boat guys there and we scored 5 boat cards:banana:

On a side note I did manage to obtain 42 cards total:cool1: My leads panned out and did come home with the possible 23 0f 25 cards:dance3: plus a positive on maybe getting the 2 that are not available:rolleyes1

I'll catch up later going to bed that drive was a killer, I remember the reason why we take the autotrain:lmao:

:welcome: You are member #168:cool1: You really go all out:yay: I think you will fit right in:goodvibes

Welcome back:welcome::welcome:! Way to go on the Transportation cards! It's looking for us a 2015 summer visit to WDW with a stay afterwards with some good friends of ours in Maryland for a few days. Our funds are too tight right now for me to start saving till the end of the year for the next trip. A split stay works well for us, and balances what my DH wants and the family want's. I'll have to see what the airfare between Orlando and Baltimore is to see if it's viable. Have a great day!

Trish

I would like to petition for membership :worship:. I am definitely a commando. So much so, that I take over other people's vacations. I f I hear their going, I offer to plan out their trip minute by minute (according to the interests of their group of course :rolleyes1) Why pay the money if you aren't going to maximize your experience? I've already started the plans for our return trip in January of 2013.

So may I please join? Pretty please?:flower3:

I have to confess that I'm less than 30 days out, and still tweaking  I cancelled my ADR for Sci-Fi Dine-In, because although it looks cool and I think the kids would love the restaurant, nothing on there really appeals to us, menu-wise. Now we can stay in MK all day and not have to travel. We're going to Tony's instead. :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 tonys is good. there on our 3 year dining rotation. sci fi is ok also, mostly hambergers and the flicks on the screen are from the 50s-60s and the kids wouldnt get them anyway. (not that i do either.:lmao:) tonys is a good choice, have a great meal!:thumbsup2

Petition Approved :thumbsup2:welcome:You are member #169:cool1: I love to help my friends plan thier trip, although I only will give them as much info as they are willing to listen to:rolleyes1 After that they are on thier own:scared1:

Dave sums it up the best when they start to not listen or ask at the last minute:lmao: Tell everyone Dave it always cracks me up:lmao:

When collecting the Transportation Cards I found that the bus drivers were handing out the retired bus cards from the 18 card set, one of the bus drivers told me where to go to get the ones from the 25 card set (he was right:woohoo:) it seemed the closer I came to completing the set the more helpful CM's were (telling me where to go to find them:yay:) For the last 4 I needed the CM went to his office to get them for me (had to meet him in 20mins:banana:)

IMO approach is everything seemed the more you know about the cards and if you get the CM alone away from a crowd (they only have so many, if people hear you they will get swamped:scared1:) the more successful you will be, Example on the bus be the last ones off then ask:goodvibes
