WDW Commando Club

Pack a park bag???? Are you crazy???? The bag line takes too long for TRUE commando's :lmao: Leave everything, including small children, that can slow you down behind! :rotfl2:

:welcome: You are member #117. I also like to travel light, I can't leave my little guy behind (he's my Patsy on why we do alot of stuff that I, opps I mean he wants to do at WDW:lmao:)

Yeah, I'd go to Epcot and do world showcase. You could see alot of story tellers in that time. Also, don't miss Voices of Liberty. They always sound beautiful but love them even more at Christmas.

One of our funniest moments ever at WDW happened last year in Epcot in Chinia of the world showcase, it was mid week and at least the 2nd time around, time was 5:50pm, the acrobat show was going on (already saw a couple days before), so my wife wants to find the character in Chinia, I ask who is it, she tells me Mushu, OK looking for a dragon:confused3. My wife and son are 10ft in front of me as we look around, we pass a enterance and a girl dressed up comes out and waves to my son, I ask her where the character is located, she say's I am Mulan, my wife quickly backtracks just as I say And I am Ron:lmao: We all looked at each other and busted out laughing:lmao: Then she took us inside, where my son had a solid 10mins of 1 on 1 with her, my son takes karate, well she knew her moves, My son's Master was alittle jealous that he got to practice with a Grand Master such as Mulan. my wife and I were in Heaven with this kind of magic moment caught on film:goodvibes

We were the last ones she saw that day, and when we were leaving she said I took her alittle off gaurd, With the and I am Ron, She said she never had that happen before, guess she remembered my name for awhile:lmao:

Add me to your list! I am the commando and I've raised my kids to be future WDW commandos!!! Just before logging in to the disboards today I printed out historical august park hours so I can plan our trip that is 334 days away!!! We hit the parks at rope drop and know exactly where we are headed!!!

To all those who are just unfolding the park map and have no clue which way to turn..LOOK OUT cause we are coming up fast behind you!

I'm having alittle issue on our 1st day plans, We will not be arriving till 9am, so we will not be there for rope drop, (earliest will be around 11am) I not sure what park to hit.

At 5pm we have a ADR for Boatwright & will be hitting HS after dinner (EMH)

This is a Sunday with MVMCP at MK that night, I'm leaning toward Epcot:confused3

I would pick Epcot..if standbys are long at TT and Soarin I'd do things like universe of energy...spaceship earth..try out sum of all thrills...club cool and take a nice stroll around WS! Stop in China and have the peach schnapps and oolong tea slushie! It's awesome!

Awww, thanks. I'm about to go commando. Need to finish the spreadsheet, figure out what Christmas shopping I want to do at DTD, whether I need to get a box from the post office, oh and pack. Ack! The house is clean...hope it can stay that way. Laundry done....would like to keep that caught up too. :laundy: Everything will get done just got to do it.

Check in with everyone on the flipside. :hippie:

Totally WDW Commando!

Commandoed last time and it was glorious - The best part being, we two fully grown adults go commando even when we probably don't have to ... when the park is at crowd level one or two. We exclusively go at low crowd times.

When you're at rope drop on a level one or two day, and you have those fast passes planned ... baby, you're gonna ride those rides two or three times in a row, walking right on! :yay::yay::yay: It's the best - commando without worrying about how you're going to wiggle through the crowd to your next stop. Clear sailin'! :cool1: We usually do two (sometimes three) parks each day, over a four or five day trip.

My rules - Always be at rope drop, no bags, have a list of must-rides and multiple-rides for each park, pick a few food service places in each park, ride during parades, and plan your fast passes. :cool1:

Okay. Awesome. I gotta go work on my ride lists now. I only have four months left. :rotfl2:

:welcome: You are member #119. Great advice:woohoo: I have to go one year when it is level 1 or 2 sounds so much more fun:banana:

Oo, ooo, can I be member #120, please? I know my DS and my mom would happily (or not so much ;)) confirm that I am, most decidedly, a park commando. :lmao:

Thanks for establishing a place for all of us type A, obsessive, Disney nuts!

Only 4 months left???? :scared1: I'm hyperventilating for you!! I have 8 months and I'm freaking out because I haven't made a solid preliminary touring plan!!

I haven't gone commando at the parks since '86 when my aunt was the commando on our 10 party trip. I LOVED it because we did almost all the rides that year thanks to her!! My parents and sister weren't impressed with her commando style and in the many trips since then, we just went and did a random "plan" and stood in long lines and skipped rides all together because it was too long of a wait. Even once the FastPass system was available we missed rides because of their laid back "we're on vacation, we don't have to do it all" attitude. :sad2:

So now I'm all about being commando when me and my kids go but I haven't gone with a very strict plan in mind for the past four years. I'd love the help and advice of all existing commandos as I prepare my plans for my May/June 2011 trip!!

Count me in on all this commando business XD Unfortunately I haven't been able to go as commando as I'd like because all my trips have been with my parents, but once I can go alone...it might get a little scary :lmao:

:welcome: You are member #121. I could never understand why people with the "laid back attitude, don't need to do it all" even pick WDW for vacation, why not a island or a Cruise, something more laid back where you can relax:confused3. IMO it's almost a sin to come back at night for a 5-6hr sleep before rope drop the next day:lmao:

We would be happy to help you out in your planning:goodvibes

:welcome: You are member #122. Next time a possible WDW trip is mentioned in your house, start planning a Commando trip (nothing off the wall, but a doable plan) figure out what ADR's the family would enjoy, list must do's etc.
Then present the plan to your parents and give them reasoning on how you came up with different things, Chances are good if they feel it is well thought out plan and is doable, they will go with most of your planning (might change or add some stuff) Just make sure you show them your before they start planning and making ADR's on their own:scared1:

Yep, forget the maps. . . if you don't have the park layout memorized before you arrive I would question your true mommando-ness! :confused3:lmao:

We did a mini non-Disney Commando trip last weekend. We went to Busch Gardens in VA for Hollow-Scream. We got there for 10am opening, Hit all the big rides 1st, went to all the shows & minor rides, with time to spare before the scare zones opened at 6, we were able to hit all the scare zones and do some of rides and shows over again, park closed at 10pm:cool1: The next morning coming back home we stopped at Kings Dominion, arrived around 11am, was able to pretty much walk on the rides:woohoo: Was done with everything by 3pm:yay: (scare zones & shows didn't start till 7pm) back in the car for a 6 hour drive:scared1:

It was great training, for upcoming WDW trip:goodvibes:woohoo:

Ok fellow commandos, I need your advice! I already booked my trip for May 29th- June 4th at POP. I didn't even think about it til today, but I would arrive on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and it's supposed to be busy then.

There are a few reasons I want to get there May 29th:

1. I just want to start my WDW trip ASAP!

2. If I arrive May 27th thru June 2nd I get the QSDP FREE

3. The room rates are higher beginning June 3rd so the fewer days in my trip on the 3rd and after, the less expensive my package cost. (I'm a single mom so any money I can save on my package means that much more for souvenirs, rental car, etc)

Now, truth be told. I've been to WDW in every month from May to Oct but never during a holiday like Memorial Day. Is going that weekend going to jack with my strict plans to hit all the rides cuz it will be busy the first few days of my trip????

The only Holiday I've been there for is Holloween, I try to go in the fall, But since I live in a resort town on the Jersey Shore for 41 years now I'm kind off familiar with the Holiday crowds:scared1:

I'm going to base this on the crowds here, so it is only idea's not facts.

Your 2 days to worry about are Sun & Mon. Take advantage of EMH"s (alot of visitor's will be staying offsite for the weekend) Be at the ropedrop and hit a couple of the line rides, once it starts to get busy do rides that let alot of people in at atime (examples, Laugh Factory, Country Bears, Tiki Room) Or go to the World Showcase. I would also go for some bigger venues during the parade or fireworks (if alot of people are only there for a few days good chance they will be at those events:idea:) Once it hits Monday 5pm most of the weekenders will be gone (work & school on Tues:woohoo:) Tues am and for the rest of your trip crowd levels will extremely lower:yay: Plan parades and fireworks for Tues or later, less crowds:teacher: better view:cool1:

I would stay away from the Waterparks on Sun & Mon also, for alot of visitor's it might be thier way of ending cabin fever:scared1:

Like I said this is only my opinion based on what I would be dealing with here, I'm sure other fellow Commando's have been to WDW at that time and can give you some pointers & a better insight :goodvibes

Thanks Disney Commando.....I'll be back with more questions as I get my plan laid out!
