WDW Commando Club

Is the World Pavillion decorated for Christmas, Does each Country do their own decorations:confused3, I can't say I've ever seen pics of this, so I really have no idea:confused3

Yes. It's very cool. Also don't overlook the shop windows. They are decorated for Christmas too.

Wow I had to change my Tues Dec 7 planning, it's going to be a real busy day:eek: 9am Cape May Cafe, Off to Seaworld have to be out of there by 3pm should be able to see everything by then (been there many times:cool1:), DTW to T-Rex Cafe for early dinner, off to HS for 7pm Fantasmic, HS to Epcot for Illuminations at 9:30, will probably do the Boardwalk instead of DTD after Epcot, and do DTW on Wed after Olivia's:confused3

That is one busy, crazy schedule. My hat's off to you if you can do all that and still be :) at the end of the night.

Yay! More commandos!

We are a mixed family of commandos/non-commandos. DD15 and DD8 are non-commandos. DD12 has gone from early entry rope drop at MK straight through to closing down MNSSHP at midnight (with a couple of hops to Epcot and DTD during that 16 hr period). BF accidently put my friend in a wheelchair on his first trip when his bouncing got out of control and her feet gave out trying to keep up with him (literally, they swelled up and she could only hobble). Whoops! But it was his first trip ever and we did all four parks in one day.

We have a trip for just us planned in January 2011 and he is looking forward to bouncing like crazy (and not putting anyone in a wheelchair).

I'm afraid to report that I failed as a Disney Commando during my solo trip a few weeks ago. I had the big spreadsheet and it never left my pocket. I totally went with the flow and how I felt at the moment.

One day while at the MK, I decided to take a boat over to the Poly and have lunch at the CS restaurant. very relaxing to sit out on the patio. I had a view of the lush grounds that overlooked the pool, that overlooked the seven seas lagoon, that overlooked the MK. :thumbsup2 By the way, did you know that you can get a Dole Whip at the Poly CS. It's self-serve and the cashier told me to fill it as high as I could. :rolleyes1

Another day, while at the MK again, I took a boat over to Fort Wilderness Campground. I didn't even get off the boat. I just took it back to the MK. Felt great sitting outside on the front of the boat with the sun and wind in my face.

On another day, I left the park early because I was done with what I wanted to see and do but also because I could see a big storm moving in. I got to my 4th floor room that overlooked the pool just before it dumped. I took a nice long nap to the sound of rain and then stood out on the balcony watching all of the activity. The storms finally ended around 8. I figured it was too late to go any place so I grabbed CS from my resort. Around 11 pm, I decided to do laundry and go swimming. Very nice!

I caught myself several times just sitting in a beautiful spot in the parks with a cold beverage and just watching people or taking in the ambiance. One of my favorite days was at AK. It was fabulous weather which is not the norm at AK. I didn't rush anywhere. I rode the safari, saw FOTLK, Nemo, all of the various music acts, and the parade. Spent time just wandering the trails. Discovered my new favorite treat...frozen chai.

All in all, it was a very relaxing, non-commando trip. Who knew that you could have fun by slowing down. ;)

Welcome Back:goodvibes How was your trip:confused3

I wasn't sure about the countries China, Japan & Morraco

I think Japan and China had some kind of decorations but you're probably right in that they don't do much for the "holidays" as far as decorations. They do have holiday story tellers. Morocco has a story teller too but I don't think there are any decorations. My favorite story teller's are Norway and Italy.

Lorie, IMO you did not fail, the only person you had to please was yourself, if you were happy and enjoyed your trip, in my book it was a success, you most likely did things you never had time to do before:thumbsup2

:welcome: You are member #126. Wow now that's extreme:eek: if she is going with you next trip, maybe she should get a scooter or wheelchair right off the bat, at least the pain factor won't be there:confused3, but you did get in 4 parks in one day:woohoo:

I will probably need a few of those fruity drinks at T-rex cafe, they usally make you feel pretty good:lmao::rotfl::lmao:

I agree! It's not failing if you enjoyed yourself. And to be honest, I think I would be less commando if I could take a solo trip. Then again, I might break into an all-out run instead between attractions since I wouldn't have to wait for anyone... :rotfl2: I'm not sure I could ever take a solo trip though, so I'll probably never find out...

DTW to T-Rex Cafe for early dinner

OK. This has been bugging me and I know it will be obvious when I hear it BUT what is DTW?

As for Christmas, one of my favorite story tellers is the lumberjack Santa in Canada and don't miss the Hanukkah story teller in the USA.

My wife will be in a wheel chair part of the time for our December trip (major back surgery) so no commando trip this time. I will have a lot of time to drink beer though. Can you get ticketed for drunken wheelchair pushing? :lmao: :drinking1

I've gone partial commando, and now I'm ready to go full on on my next trip!
I'd love any advice you can give me!

My Bad, should be DTD Down Town Disney.

A lumberjack Santa, now that sounds cool:cool1:

When are you going in Dec:confused3

As long as you don't hit anyone, or let her go when you get to a hill :scared1: you should be fine :thumbsup2

:welcome: You are member #127. We would love to help you out:goodvibes, Remember the only dumb ? is the one not asked:rolleyes1 So basicly anything WDW is on the table here:woohoo:

I know it's out there somewhere, searched last night with no luck:scared1:

Looking for the show schedule for the parks, planning goes alot smoother knowing what time the shows are:confused3

Got the parade and fireworks one, thought I would find it there somewhere, might even be to early to find out 44 days to go:confused3

I used this site: http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/index.htm

I think it only goes 1 week out, but generally show times don't change that much (I think)...

Thanks:thanks:, That will work out nice. I think your right that the times & days don't change much from week to week, will have to double check schedule when I get there, just to be on the safe side:thumbsup2

Starting my next phase of planning, There will be at least a dozen Dis Dads there that week not all at the same time, so now we are trying to make it that everyone meets up:goodvibes, Since I do more then 1 park a day I'm sure I'll be able to meet everyone:woohoo: This is 1 thing where failure is not a option:rolleyes1

If any fellow Commandos will be at WDW Dec 5-11 let me know, would love to meet up with you:cool1:

HOORAY!!!:dance3::cool1::love:

BF is SOOO excited about his Commando number...he's talking about putting it on a jersey to wear on our trip in January.

I also think he's glad to know there are others out there like him. He still feels really bad about the whole wheelchair thing but my friend forgave him ages ago. She thinks it's insanely funny and it was her feet that were swollen!
