Hi there!! I posted this over on the family board as well... I hope it's okay to also post it here. :) We just booked our first WDW trip... we'll be going this fall and will be there for 8 days. We're a family of 8... age range from 2-16. My 4 yo will be celebrating his 5th b-day while we're there. I'm wondering if some of you could help me with some ideas that would help make his day a special one? Thanks!

Stop by Town Hall at the MK and get him a "It's My Birthday" button. They give them out to people who are celebrating their b-days.

We celebrated my DS 9th b-day last July 6th and when he put on his birthday button, everyone was wishing him a happy birthday and the monorail CM had everyone waiting for the monorail sing happy birthday to him . . .it was very sweet!

We also took him to Chef Mickey's for a special b-day b-fast and he was well recognized there as well . . .they sang their b-day song and he received a cupcake with tons of whipped creme on it . . .

We also let him chose a special present and he chose a really nice mickey mouse watch which he's been wearing ever since.

Yes - definately get the birthday badge, and make sure you see a parade! If the characters see your son with the badge, they'll probably come over to him!

We also went to Chef Mickey's for dinner, however DS liked the Plaza Restaurant in MK for lunch better, because they called the mayor of Main Street in to offically wish him a happy birthday!

My sons b-day was in October when we went to the World. When I made the ressie at the Boardwalk I told them this also and they put it on the ressie.

They didn't say anything, but on the third day we came back to the room and there was a balloon and a picture of Mickey and Minnie, signed and wishing him a happy birthday. Nice touch!

When making any arrangements alway's mention the b-day, you never know what might happen!:) :)

Thanks so much for the ideas! We were thinking of possibly celebrating his birthday at Animal Kingdom. Is it possible to obtain the birthday badge there as well? Would Animal Kingdom be a fun place for a 5 yo to spend his special day?

An autographed picture of a character in the room would be so fun for him! Do you think it would be possible to request something like that ahead of time?
