WDW 50th Anniversary

I’d think they could scrounge up the budget for a new float or two. But I cant even pretend I have any knowledge on 1) if they were working on floats for a new nighttime parade prior to the shutdown and 2) How long it would take for them to build a new float or two in the first place.

It was only around for what, 2 maybe 3 years? So even if you bring it to WDW it would still be “new” to a lot of people. I got to see it when I went to DLR in 2017 on my way back from Aulani and its just a very fun parade. A lot of energy. I think it would be a hit in WDW. If its not a legitimate rumor yet, I hope it becomes one

I really hope we get some version of Paint the Night since were not getting the totally new show. A new float or two would be even better! I saw Paint the Night in HKDL and remember really enjoying it.

MK needs a nighttime parade!

Has anyone heard anything at all about when reservations will open past Sept 26 2021? I'm anxiously awaiting for the ability to book.

This is completely a guess, but I really don't look for fall packages to go on sale until early next year. Mainly so Disney can see how things are progressing with the virus at that point.
I really hope you’re wrong about that, the waiting to book is killing me 😆😭

Completely agree. I think Disney will want to have another quarter, or possibly even 2, before they open up new bookings. We could be looking at March or so before they put those new bookings up for sale. They’re going to need to show growth to the investors, otherwise they’re going to have to raise prices, and they can‘t do either right now without the data.

Well, if the Nugget is Golden, then that fits the Golden Anniversary at WDW

He also is reporting that part of this will be projection mapping on Main St, and then there is the rumor over at WDW Magic about Paint the Night coming to WDW for the 50th

Given financials, maybe upgrading Happily Every After with some projections about and then bringing over an existing night time parade could be a pretty economical way to have a pretty big impact at WDW that guests I think would be pretty jazzed about
Love Paint The Night. This would be spectacular if it happens.

I read an article today that said the celebration for Disney's 50th is not starting until October 1, 2021 but it will last until late 2022. Is this confirmed information?

I had seen that date mentioned by people before too though as @rteetz said, nothing is confirmed

Give that they have the reservations out until Sept 26th, 2021 and that is when you can now make reservations for up to, it sort of fits with the idea of them not really starting anything until the 1st of October - but that also could be putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 (which only works for large values of 2)

We are cancelling our December 2020 trip and moving it to December 2021. Now we will hopefully get to ride TRON and GotG, along with Rat.

So we can't call now (499 days out) and make our December 2021 rezzies?

We have a December 2020 trip booked too but plan to do the same (rebook December 2021). Anxiously awaiting when they open dates passed September 26, 2021.
