I've got an ADR booked for Whispering Canyon Cafe but I'm beginning to have second thoughts because of the mixed reviews on this forum (in terms of food quality and fun). I'm considering other resort restaurants that count as one TS on the DDP. popcorn::

Kona Cafe looks particularly interesting. How does it compare with WCC?

Has anyone got other recommendations for a resort TS? :listen:

Am I being unfair to WCC - should I give it a chance? :confused3

Is this forum making me increasingly confused and neurotic? :teeth:

I agree, confused and neurotic when I look at all the reviews.

I'm sticking with my ressie for WCC, and I hope we enjoy. If not, then we just won't go back. As long as they bring my dd tons of ketchup we'll be happy. She puts ketchup on everything from mashed potatoes to mac&cheese!

Well, I think it would be tough to compare WCC with Kona Cafe. They are two very different resteraunts with very different atmospheres. It really depends on what you are looking for.

As far as changing ADRs based on reviews here, I would say go with your gut. I have seen more good reviews for WCC than bad ones. It is just the bad ones that always stick in our brains.

Look at both menus on allears.net. Then decide. I would also take into account if you've never visited WL its a beautiful resort and worth visiting. We went to WCC in April and had a great time. There were pony races, ketchup and huge glasses of soda. The food is average but the resort is spectacular. The poly is a great place to eat and on the monorail so convenient to either MK or EPCOT. So think of where you would like to dine Poly or WL. And what park you will go to after dinner. If you haven't tried it yet I'd suggest going to the Poly for breakfast and the famous Tonga Toast. Its a DIS favorite. Have fun planning!! popcorn::

It's looking like I ought to give WCC a chance. And I must admit to wanting to have a good look around WL for future reference.

I've heard a lot about tonga toast. What is it exactly? What is it made from? Is it likely to finish me off if I have it on top of the DDP? ;)

Thanks :thumbsup2

Tonga Toast- Bread stuffed with bananas and it's deep-fryed. My parents didn't really like it because it was mushy.

Kona Cafe-Beautiful meals lots of choice. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Whispering Canyon Cafe-Fun, cool and it makes you feel like your at home.

I'd recommend both. I love theri food and it's amazing!

These two places are so different from each other. WCC is very kid friendly wtih all the funny stuff they do there. Kona doens't have any of that kind of stuff or games.

The food is well, totally different.

Both are worth the experience if you can fit them both in. :)
