We are driving down in November. We are planning on arriving sometime in the afternoon. We are staying at POFQ. I was thinking about doing WCC for our first night there.

What is the best way to get from POFQ to WCC?

Will picky eater DS have something he likes? (he loves hot dogs, mac and cheese, chicken strips, french fries, bread, salad, pizza)

OR should we do something else that night? Opinions please?

I think driving your car will be the easiest transportation. I haven't eaten at WCC in years, but recent reviews here on the Dis haven't been the greatest.
:earsboy:

Not sure that they have any of what you described that he likes according to menu on allears.net. We were there 7 years ago and I think they might have accomodated my kids with food from another kids menu within WL, but not sure that they still will.

Definitely take a car. Otherwise, the easiest thing is to take the bus to MK and the boat to WL.

The food is not great at WCC. But, that is not why you go there. You go there for the fun, and it is very fun. It is on my kids most requested list for our trip there this August, despite there being very little that they like to eat.

I have read tons of reviews, it seems pretty mixed. I think the atmosphere sounds like a blast. DH wants BBQ and I don't want to pay for HDDR. We are on the dining plan but want to do CRT and a few other TS places...such decisions.

Oh, wow, I LOVE WCC! It is a must-do for me and my fella (we love BBQ and the cornbread is out of this world delicious!). Your son should be able to find something he likes and your hubby will be happy. We always get the skillet and leave soooo full!

The easiest way is driving. We drove last year, parked in the afternoon at the WL, took the ferry to MK, came back on the ferry, and then after dinner got back in our car and went home.

Next time we are staying at WL and not planning on eating there at all. Our waitress was a dud and it made it a lot less fun.:guilty:

We love WCC. The food and the atmosphere.

The easiest way we go is from our resort to MK. Then take the boat to WL. It is quick and a relaxing ride to the restaurant.

We drive down also, but once we are on property we do not move the car until we leave. I am sure driving would be much faster, but after driving for 10+ hours the last thing I want to do is fight traffic. :scared1:

We have found that an afternoon at DTD is fun for the first day. We then take a bus from DTD to whatever resort we are going to for dinner. We usually head back to DTD for more shopping, then back to our resort for a good night sleep. :thumbsup2

It's been a while since we've had dinner at WCC but we were there for breakfast back in December and had a great time. No complaints on the food and the staff was fab!

I would suggest taking the car...it really is the easiest and fastest way to get to WL. Otherwise, as the PP said, bus to MK and boat to WL....this will suck up a huge chunk of time though so plan accordingly.
