We had such a great time at the humane society tonight and Tyler had so much fun playing with dogs and cats! He has a favorite dog named Ernie and favorite cat named Meatball. I was pretty impressed with how clean the place is kept and with the programs available for kids. He's interested in a veterinary program they do where kids can watch surgery and when he gets a little older, can attend a "stitchery" clinic. Very cool stuff going on there! Before we even left, he asked "can we skip scouts and come back tomorrow?" He wants to help make dog treats, an ongoing project.

Ernie and Meatball.....how adorable!!!! I love that they have such a great program for kids, but I wouldn't have the stomach to watch everything going on. YUCK! Good for Tyler that he's so interested and loves wanting to help. Maybe he will become a veterinarian. That would be so cool.

So my mom leaves Sunday for Miami until the end of March. Yeah, I'm a little jealous! LOL!

OH how nice. Does she rent a place down there or stay with a friend? I bet you wish you could join her, even for a little bit. Miami is hot hot hot!!!

The steak is marinating, the dining room glass is getting bubble wrapped.....all is well with the world today. We are making progress.

The next room is the kitchen. More glass. We're going to take only what we can afford to pack now and do it again at the last minute. Most of the kitchen things will be left behind. John wants all new pots and pans when we move. But we have lots of mom's kitchen things that John took......a meat slicer, a stand mixer, an electric frying pan....etc. Mom liked to buy kitchen things because she cooked all the time. We can pack all of those out now.

Deb - 2 rooms in 1 week is AMAZING!!

1 thing you can always do - with the glassware....is sit at the dining room table & wrap while you sit. John can bring you more glasses when you need them, and he can take them away from you too. That way you can still be helping but resting at the same time.

I LOVE kitchen tools/gadgets! More than 1/2 my kitchen stuff is from Pampered Chef. Sad thing is I don't cook so much anymore. Well, maybe some day I'll get back into it.

Be Our Guest is the new restaurant inside the Beast's castle, in the new Fantasyland. They are counter service during lunch, then sit down service during dinner.

Holly - that's neat that Tyler can do those things in the shelter. Great that they let kids experience all those different things.

I'm trying to think that THAT is when I'll get to see the guy next. His exam is the 1st week of April, so am trying to give him all the space he needs. We had a big talk 2 nights ago....me telling him that he needs to not worry about me & that if he needs to forget me for now, that's what he needs to do. He said he does worry about me, doesn't want me thinking he's forgotten about me. He apologized for being crazy busy, and i told him that I understand. Poor Holly - she got texts from me that night cuz I was & bawling. Telling the person you care about that you will bow out of his life until he has room for you is really tough.....add the hormones to that and all hell breaks loose!

I had a dream last night that I won that trip to Cancun & he did go with me...that would be wonderful. I'll have to be living on dreams & fantasies for a while

Well... we're ready for the storm...

Latest... we're supposed to get between 10 & 24 inches.. depending on the track of the storm... a little to the west and we get plowed under...

I have my brownie mix... and a back up of cupcakes... we should be fine...

Jay will come and dig us out on Saturday...

I don't know if I'll have pics or not.. I have to find my camera cord. which is a good reason to spend tomorrow cleaning the office...

I hate kitchen gadgets.....John loves them. He went thru my mom's kitchen after she passed and took what he wanted. She had lots of stuff.

I know you will cook again one day when you have someone to cook for!!
