you gave me inspiration...
I hardly ever expect to get in exactly at my appt. time... it comes from having to go to the specialists in Philly... they used to get called in on emergencies... so it was understandable to wait. (and the care I got was exceptional... so.....)
I expect to wait - that's normal, but I've never had to wait that long
We will Rock you is coming to Proctors next weekend... Looks good!
Again, weird story, but amazing music & energy. Go if you can.
I went to see "To Kill a Mockingbird" on the big screen last night... Proctors has movies that they show from time to time. I did their animation fest. this ear and got to see Cinderella and Peter Pan on the big screen. Missed Wall*E... I think I was in Jersey picking up mom or something. Next one is Sound of Music on the 23rd.
Will you watch the one on NBC (the live version with Carrie Underwood?) It's on Dec 5th.
So glad to hear you have found somewhere you will like!!!
You know.. you might be able to privately rent it to some of the thieves who go for long term visits to WDW... it might help pay some expenses until then and I hear they come with good references...
Glad to see Jan revived the thread... I was thinking about it recently... but other things have been occupying my brain.
Otherwise, things are quiet. Mom is being a typical Sr. Citizen. She's sometimes forgetful and it bothers her. (and me because we do so much arguing over things...) She forgets to eat sometimes and I have to remind her... she thinks that a piece of toast and tea are enough to have... I've been making lunches under the disguise of my wanting to cook.
Evelyn has turned 1... I had big plans for being there for her birthday, but they went away for it. (they went to see family in NOLA...) I hear she refuses to walk on her own (I said to relax and enjoy the couple of weeks until she discovers how much fun it is because they will have to chase after her then.) She walks just fine along the furniture. I of course am convinced that she looks like me (except she has Mark's big brown eyes...) Nobody else believes me...
Maysie graduates from the SC police academy on Friday. It's something that she gravitated to once her parents decided not to help fund her college anymore. I give her great amounts of credit for the courage she has shown in this. There is still tension between her and the parents, so they will not be attending her graduation. Unfortunately I think they will regret that decision down the road. I'll post pics of the graduation as soon as I get them.
The rest of the family is doing good. Emma has moved into her own apartment in Hoboken with 2 friends. She has a new boyfriend. Brian is in his last semester at Univ. of Dallas... is looking for jobs... I told him he should look for an internship here in Schenectady at GE... I promised him home cooked meals and trips up to the lake. But Alas... his girlfriend, Kasey is in TX... Will is also in his last year in high school. To which I ask... How can all my kids be in or finished with college next year yet I still stay so young...
Birthday #50 is approaching this year. Still figuring out how to commemorate. I think it will be a great celebration or I will be hanging out with my head between two pillows... we'll see...
The Condo Association prohibits short term rentals or even occupancy by other than owners unless owners are present or a long term rental agreement is in place. Since we want to be able to go for our vacations we must leave it empty except for when we are there.

You are very wise
Feeding Mom under the guise of wanting to cook.!!
(You might find some research on Alzheimers to be helpful in helping you cope with her forgetfulness and reducing the fights. Not because she has Alzheimers, but because the strategies are good ones. We got a lot of ideas from Coach Broyles' Playbook for Alzheimer's Caregivers

you can download it for free.)
You are very wise
Babies walk when they are ready. I am always amazed at how many of my client families expect that to be a milestone achieved by everyone at age one. WRONG! Many perfectly healthy children do not walk until 15 months or older
AND
there is evidence that the baby who crawls longer will be a better reader! And when we consider how much reading is involved in our culture, that is a good thing.
Glad the AUNT-LETTES are doing well. (My brother refers to our children and my sister's children as his UNCLETTES since he is their uncle.)
Any chance of you going to Maysie's graduation?
Best wishes on finding a special way to celebrate your 50th.
