Wow, that is soooooo way cool Marilyn. Next time bring them some treats.....they like veggies and fruit. They will LOVE you! Take some pictures too next time. I would love to see them. I always go.......ga ga.....whenever I see turtles in the wild.

I took some photos especially for you Deb, but haven't got them on the computer yet. What kind of fruit do they eat?

We saw big ones in the 'canal' at the Beach Club Villas in May. It was fun seeing them.

Do they go on land much?

The ones at our apartment complex last week sat out on the wall surrounding their pond but we didn't see them going into the bit of garden past there.

I'm doing this one, Tortola, Christmas cruise and sometimes the second week of the B2B after Tortola. That's way too many!:confused3

Oh I forgot the Wastern cruise - I read that one but haven't posted for a while. I also read the Geeks thread when I see Angie has posted!!!:rolleyes1

John and me just got back from transferring the title of mom's car to us. We made our last car payment last month.....YEA!!!! That saves me another $350 per month of additional Ray expenses. I should save some money on insurance too. So now I'll have extra to put towards these cruises.

I talked to John about canceling the B2B.....just doing Tortola and not the following week. Then I can apply that deposit to the Christmas cruise and have one less cruise to pay off. He was not that keen on the idea. Well, I have to see how much of our hard earned cash DCL is going to want to take from us and then I'll decide. I would much rather do the 11 night Southern than another 7 night Western. We'll have to wait and see the pricing before we decide.:confused3

They basically do all their business in the water, but will come out to baske in the sun. They require the UV rays to stay healthy.

I try all kinds of fruit and veggies on them. Some of mine like one thing while others like another. It's a matter of taste. You could try a piece of apple, orange, bananna, pear, mellon, plumb, anything really. The only thing is that you have to put it in the water for them to eat from there. They will not eat outside of the water.

Thank you for taking pictures for me. I'm anxious to see what kind of turtles they are. If I had to take a guess, I would say they are Midland turtles. They seem to be in most of the ponds in the east coast areas.

I have Red Eared Sliders, Yellow River Cooters and an Eastern Painted turtle. I don't have any Midlands, but I would like some, but then I will be getting divorced.....so probably best not to get any.

Someone was just speculating the the Christmas cruise may be as much as the Baltic ones! :scared1: (I think based on the DVC points chart that was just released.) So if they were the same the alternate cost differences would be:

Air fare round trip to Orlando vs London
Pre-cruise hotel stay (and London may require an extra day due to jet lag)
Dollar to pound ratio for above
Cost difference in transfers to ship
More ($) excursions (more history!) for Baltic
Full payment in March or August (ish)
Cat 10 for 3 in Baltic vs having to have a more expensive Cat 6 for Christmas

non finincial considerations:
leaving Phoenix in hot June vs lovely December
possibility of seeing the new ship at the shipyards (I think that would be so cool....would skip Berlin for that)

must consider:
Monica will decide against Baltic on DCL and I'll be put out of my misery!:lmao: :lmao: I'm pretty sure I'm capable of rationalizing whatever/wherever I end up!

DUH!

We did it one year at our house and we went all out. It was a lot of work, but boy the leftovers were worth it!

We couldn't do it with the same group of people because they're all gone now. We can't add a new group of friends because they already have their annual traditions that they do.

Yours probably works so well because you started it so long ago and have maintained it every year.

We'll be fine going out to dinner.

But do you know how many of us would show up??? You're within driving distance... of a few of us... and the rest can just use their Southwest points to come into Albany and We can figure out how many we can fit in our cars...:rotfl:

I had a fight with the Chicago Transit Authority (not the rock group). We came home earlier and found our cable laying on the ground. It had been ripped out of the wall of the house (the cable comes from the telephone pole, across the alley, under the train tracks and to our house).

The CTA (not the rock group) sent their electrician to repair it.

I also misread the flyer that we got through the door. I thought the work was going on from midnight to 5 AM, it turns out that it's going on from midnight Friday until 5AM Monday! In other words, they are working around the clock until early Monday morning.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: YUP, that's what I'm afraid of!!! Ha Ha LOL, JUST KIDDING!

Actually, that's exactly what family is all about. I could call any of you and invite myself to your place or you could invite yourself to mine. We are all family here and we really care about each other.

     :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

HORRORS!!!!!

I say, pack a suitcase and you and Sukie go get a hotel room somewhere. Enjoy your peace and space. Don't return home until Monday after work.....then it'll be over.

Did they do any damage to the house when they pulled out the cable? Is everything ok w/ that now?

I wonder if Gaylean and family made it to Bubba and Venetia's today???

Hopefully they are all together having a magical time......and we'll get pictures soon.:cool1:

:lmao: And we must remember....there is always Plan B. But now that I've seen all those Tortola folks on the Baltic thread...:scared:

Here is my public service announcement for today -

While I know most on this thread would not go see a movie like Quarantine - please warn anyone you know who might.

We went to an early show today. The movie's story, cast etc. wasn't bad but the filming style is hand held camera. Neither Blair Witch or Cloverfield bothered me. But this movie made me so nauseous I came right home and went to bed for 2 hours. I think the difference was this one has a scene where they are showing a series of news articles and headlines that you need to read while the camera is shaking.

They ripped some of the vinyl siding on the back of the house. I have to call my alderman on Monday.
