Another new avatar.....nice! :thumbsup2

Thanks... I thought Tink's butt was a bit much after a while... :rotfl:

Ops.....NO.....caught me!

They were elevated all last night and will be again later, but not right now.

They do look nice though since I got my pedi done yesterday.:lmao:

Hot pink or red???

Michelle, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new avitar. WAY better than looking at Tink's butt.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: It's Unanimous!

i'll drink to that :drinking1 :thumbsup2

Yes... Have a Tinkertini... I hear they are quite good...it's the pixie dust you know... ;) ;) ;)

Gaylean and Michelle.....we popped the cork on the Korbel. Here's what I think of it: I like it. Initially, it has a slight sweet taste which goes away for the finish. It's good. Now I'll tell you what we usually buy when we're being economical.....Freixenet Cordon Negro Brut.....it comes in a black bottle and it's dryer than the Korbel and it's half the price. You will both like it. It's a good replacement for the times when you want champagne but don't want to spring for the Moet. I'm glad I tried the Korbel. But from now on when I'm not drinking Moet, I'm sticking with the Freixenet. Just an FYI.

Happy Anniversary Deb and John

Happy Rosh Hashanah 5,769 (I think I got the year right)

.....ok, that's all the break I get today...busy, busy.......

.

Hi Jackie.....thanks so much for your well wishes.....John and I are having a great day.

Congratulations on having a successful first week on BistroMD. You did good and lost 3lbs too. Keep it going. I'll be right back with you again next week.

Deb... I've had the Freixenet... it's ok... I like Brut anyway... I like that I can get their little bottles for just a quick one...

Try the Chandon also... it's not too expensive... along the lines of the FR... of course... another reason for another bottle of bubbly never hurts... :lovestruc

HOT PINK!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

OH MY GOSH, I'M SO EXCITED! (And so is Tyler!) :yay: :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: :yay:

I heard on the news today that since the house was demo'd yesterday, today is the first day they allow SPECTATORS! There's a K-mart parking lot you go to and wait in line for the shuttle buses. They have quite a few running back and forth, you can go, get OFF THE BUS at the spectator area and stay and watch AS LONG AS YOU WANT and they'll tell you when the last shuttle is headed back so you can get back to your car. The buses run from 7:30am-7:30pm. We went there straight from OT and waited an hour, but then the security guard told us the next bus coming was the last one, and we wouldn't fit on it. :guilty: So we're going to try again after school tomorrow! We'll be there much earlier in the day tomorrow and will surely have a chance to go watch. :yay:

I heard Ty was here this morning, but had to leave to go to the other house. They're doing 2 houses right now, this one here in Lansing and another in Wisconsin and he's going back and forth between both sites.

No time to read posts yet, just got home, Tyler's eating supper, it's 8pm, have to get him into bed as quickly as possible so he can get up in the morning for school. Back in a bit!

Michelle, is that the full name of the champagne???? Just Chandon??? Who's label is it? I WILL definitely try it. Probably before we go home. Thanks for the tip.

Holly, that's very exciting. I hope you and Tyler get to see Ty and get on TV.

Oh, we wouldn't be on TV. The spectator area isn't shown, other than when they do the "move that bus" part. Unfortunately, that happens this Friday at 2pm, so I'll be at work and can't be there. It's just amazing how quickly it all happens!

I LOVE the Etoile, but I don't know if you can find it other than in CA... but I also enjoy the brut... so have fun!!! :goodvibes

Michelle- Actually I have started packing. I have been switching my closet to fall and putting what I want to where on the cruise in a different spot.

Now the sad part. Today was the first time it really hit me that Matt won't be going too. I am VERY sad but know it will be ok and I need the time with my famiy. Then I saw Debs pics and started:sad1: . This will also be the first time I haven't been to the MK while in Orlando but thats ok too as we are going to DTD and get to stay at Carribean Beach. My sister and Dad don't know that yet though. They think we are staying at the airport. I can't wait to see their reaction when they find out.

Deb- I hope you had a great anniversary. I loved the pics, they bring back great memories.

I am working from home today.

I planned to go to work today, but when Sukie switched on the kitchen light, he heard a very loud hissing (he described it like a cat being attacked).

There was HUGE black mark radiating out of the canopy's of one of the track lights and the smell of ozone (electrical smell).

What is disturbing is that our circuit breakers did not blow.

Sukie has a doctor's appointment this morning, so I am pretty nervous about leaving the dogs and the house alone.

I've called an electrician and am waiting for a call back.
Oh my gosh Ian, I'm glad there wasn't a fire! Hopefully the electrician took care of this today, I'll have to catch up quickly to read about it. Scary.

holly sounds cool. our patio palm tree client did the one in southern california. it rained the whole time it was a nightmare from what we were told.

Just popping in to say hi! Its been real busy around here. I go to my moms almost everyday to scrap and help out. We are really looking foward to the cruise soon too! Work has not been so great, my manager is mad at me for some reason and took me off the schedule for the past 2 weeks. I go to work when my schedule says and she has taken me off and out of the computer. So for the past 2 weeks I have had 0 hrs. But next week I am training in the Photo Lab. I have talked to HR but need to go talk to her again since I was supposed to work this past weekend but she took me off again. Its ok though as I had 3 test last week so I had plenty of time to study. Plus my mom has been paying me to watch my sister and take her to school. pick her up, and take her to her activities.

I hope everyone is doing well,
Ian- hope everything turns out ok with the electrical
Deb-I hope you are having a Magical time at WDW

I haven't slept in 3 nights (Matts on call and doesn't hear his phone go off but I do) so I am going to go nap and then pick up Karli at school. TTFN
Jill, I think your manager is related to mine. :rotfl2: Sorry, I'm not laughing at your situation though. It doesn't seem like she'd be able to get away with that. Hopefully somebody in HR can do something about her. She really needs to be fired after all the crap she pulls with you, and I'm sure she does this to others too.

I'm way behind. Life has been crazy busy, and things won't slow down until after our federal election in 15days. I'm way back on page 30, but between tonight and tomorrow I will get caught up.

Poor Ken had teeth pulled last Monday and is still sore and slightly swollen. His mom was just up for a short visit all the way from Kansas City. So of course, I spent some time last week, making the house look at least semi-presentable. She just redid her kitchen a few months ago, so she understands that chaos we're in.

I'm ging to try posting a couple of pictures, hopefully it works :goodvibes

Here's a picture of Shaelyn in her Brownie uniform. I think the little brown dresses from back in my day were more official looking, but the T-shirt and pants are way more practical.

And here's one of a very proud Shaelyn with her "student of the month" award. Her school has a theme every month and each teacher gets to pick a few students to get the award, which is handed out at the month end assembly. So she's one of many to get it, but she was thrilled. The theme was playing by the rules.

I miss my sanity breaks (and laughs) from reading the posts here, so will be getting caught up this week. No matter how busy, I'm realizing I need to make room for some relaxing or I go nuts (or more nuts than I already am :lmao: )
VERY CUTE pictures Shannon! And way to go Shaelyn on the award!   I wish Tyler's school did stuff like that. Oh well, maybe in the older grades, I don't know.

nothing this weekend, club race the following weekend, then mid october IKF is at Salinas, last IKF race is in Davis on 11/1 I think. the season wraps in nov. I think Willie just found his groove:thumbsup2

It's great that you all get a little break as the season winds down......the kid did good right to the end. He'll have time to reflect now and do even better next time......or, as you so profoundly put it......and I do agree.....Willie just found his groove! Love it! GO SPEED GO!!!:cheer2:

The electrician has come and gone.

The short was due to water collecting in the canopy for the track light. The fuse did not blow because the wall dimmer blew instead.

Now the interesting thing is our apartment is on the first floor, and there is no obvious water overhead. I noticed that there is water damage to the dining room ceiling as well which is next to the kitchen.

The question is, where did the water come from? The pipes don't need to be directly overhead. There can be a leak and the water flows over the ceiling.

I spoke to the upstairs tenant but they said nothing happened.

We had some wall board replaced in our bathroom last year due to water damage and at the time, the was no apparent leaks to the pipes upstairs.

The opinion of my contractor with the wall damage was that they had some kind of water spillage upstairs or let something overflow.

Since it was repaired, the wall has been fine. This would confirm the opinion of the contractor. If a pipe was leaking, and had not been fixed, it would continue to be leaking and we'd have water damage on that wall again.

I really don't know what to do. I have my heating guy coming today, to do maintenance to get ready for the winter and to check out the heating pipes. The closest water upstairs to the light that shorted is a radiator, and I have hot water heat. Perhaps there's a leak from the heating.

Sukie thinks that they had a spill upstairs and are embarrassed to tell us. Either that or they keep their dogs penned up in that space with 2 gates. The floors are wood, so if the dogs go upstairs, his theory is it came down.

Still, there is no proof and it is still a mystery.

The only thing I know is that leaks, once they start, continue until they're fixed. They don't mysteriously start and stop like they do here.
Wow, that's quite a mystery. Not sure what to think there. Maybe they somehow let their kitchen sink overflow accidentally one time? Not sure how that could happen, but you never know. :confused3

This evening starts Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.

I just want to take this opportunity to wish all of our friends here a very happy, and healthy 5769!

 And the same to you and Sukie!
