That was a good start Ian. I feel more motivated already. Something Dr. Phil said made me think. He said that if you weren't getting thinner you would be bigger by next yearI can't handle that.
OK, now I'm on a roll ....
We also sometimes get very hung up on the result from weekly weigh-ins. The reality is that the scale will always (eventually) follow the behavior.
Overly focusing on what the scale tells us each week, might not be the best sign of what's going on.
Look at the following picture by Seurat (Sunday on the Island of Grand Jatte):

It doesn't tell us much, does it?
But what happens when we take a step back and look at the big picture?

Suddenly the picture emerges.
I think that it is often important to take a step back and look at what the big picture tells us about progress. The big picture may show that the trend is in the desired downward direction ... something that may get lost standing too close and looking at the results of a particular week.
