That was a good start Ian. I feel more motivated already. Something Dr. Phil said made me think. He said that if you weren't getting thinner you would be bigger by next year  I can't handle that.

OK, now I'm on a roll ....

We also sometimes get very hung up on the result from weekly weigh-ins. The reality is that the scale will always (eventually) follow the behavior.

Overly focusing on what the scale tells us each week, might not be the best sign of what's going on.

Look at the following picture by Seurat (Sunday on the Island of Grand Jatte):

It doesn't tell us much, does it?

But what happens when we take a step back and look at the big picture?

Suddenly the picture emerges.

I think that it is often important to take a step back and look at what the big picture tells us about progress. The big picture may show that the trend is in the desired downward direction ... something that may get lost standing too close and looking at the results of a particular week.

I had a member return today after being away for 6 months. She had made excellent progress and had lost over 30 pounds, but then she "plateaued."

I'm very happy she came back, however, she gained back the 30 pounds. She told me that she wished she had stayed and continued, because although she wasn't losing, she wasn't gaining.

I have another member who was struggling and seemed to be going up and down the same 2 pounds. Last week suddenly she started to go down again. What's important is that while it might have been frustrating, she didn't give up.

I sometimes think about it like a journey. I'm sure many of us have started out for a destination and have gotten lost. I'm also sure many people then would just give up and go home.

Hi Ian.....being stubborn doesn't hurt either. That's how I have managed to stay smoke free and that's what I'm doing with my diet plans. I absolutely refuse to give up until I succeed. I'm extremely stubborn and I will use this to my benefit.

Deb... Gaylean will drink anything...

I'm a Chandon girl myself... :goodvibes

I'll drink pretty much any champagne but the cheaper brands are usually sweeter and I like brut or natural. The dryer the better. But I do enjoy a good spumante on a hot day. I just think champagne is perfection. If you give me tequila I may throw up depending on which kind.

It makes sense to me that it takes a long time and that it is a journey. I just give up after 20 to 30 pounds almost every time:mad:

Hi Holly. Magic Kingdom is tomorrow on our anniversary. Today we went for ice cream sundays and it was so worth the wait. I only had a two scoop and couldn't even finish it, but it was so good.

We were at the Millenia Mall. We're meeting Monica at Mimi's there for dinner on Wednesday night. We ran some errands, did some shopping and I got my pedi......hot pink!!

We're doing park one day, off day the next, then park again and off day next. I'm trying to pace myself. The foot and leg are not that swollen. Monica will attest to this because she did inspect so that she could report back here. I'm elevating them every night and during the day on the off days. Now we're back at the hotel and I'm watching football and catching up here. After this I'll elevate again. It's all good!
Oh, I got mixed up, Magic Kingdom tomorrow. Sounds like a wonderful day today though! Yummy ice cream and fun stuff! :goodvibes

In case I forget, or get super busy tomorrow, I'll say this now:

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
:jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1:

Hi Michelle......Now you tell me!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

That's what I had yesterday and yes it seems that's all of our favorites.

Tomorrow we'll have Korbel. Should we have it before or after Magic Kingdom??? There's always belini's!

You don't need to mix it with anything. It's not bad. She's just not to tasting different champagnes :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: You gotta try them all.

Cheers. I hope you like it. It is my favorite that I can afford to drink on a regular basis. But expensive doesn't always mean better because I think Moet and Dom are the same on my list.

If you like it, I'll like it. Love the Moet but never had the Dom. Glad you think they're the same. I'll just stick with the Moet because it's more affordable.

I LOVE Champagne!!!:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Interesting. The thing that makes me really mad is that I always lose weight if I'm sticking to my points. I've realized that I can actually eat more than my points and still lose. I would talk to some ladies at the meetings that swore they did everything right and they still gained. Why don't I stay on it? I just keep telling myself that I can't do this forever. Sometimes I feel like it is really easy and other times I feel like I am starving myself.

That's why I'll only weigh myself once a month. That's enough.

You can feel how well you are or are not doing also.

I can't think of the name of the champagne now but John may remember. I think I was the only one that was drinking it because it was dry. I thought he said he liked that one as well. I was so out of it because of the martini tasting that I didn't write anything down. I think it may have been a cuvee. You'll love it. I didn't try Dom for a long time either and I will never order it but if it is at a lovely Christmas party I will definitely drink it :flower3:

Line them up and I'll try them all. Hey, let's do a champagne tasting! What a concept!

Ya know, Gaylean and Michelle......the next Champagne Girls tasting is going to be on Sept 12, 2009 Tortola. Sassy Bubbles will be there in full regala and this time the ORIGINAL champagne girl will be in attendance.....Mandy/UKANGEL. It's an event NOT to be missed!

PS New pink tiaras will be provided so that you may start a collection.

I wish I could be there but we're not going to that one for sure. We're still adjusting to not having my income. Jon is going to get a really big raise soon but we need that to catch up by then.

I'll ask John, I still have the paperwork that Karen gave us for each of the champagnes. I remember that I liked the second one the best. I can't drink anything sweet, even a little bit. The dryer the better, even pucker dry is good to me.

I hope to get an opportunity to try Dom one time. I won't spend the money to buy it when I can get the Moet for so much less and absolutely love it.

You will certainly be missed.....so will Bubba in his pink wig and tiara!

We'll send you the pictures!

I wouldn't waste the money myself. Jon bought me a magnum bottle of Moet and it was the same price as Dom because it was 4 times bigger and I loved that more than I would have liked the Dom. He knows his wife :goodvibes

Oh and I drank the entire thing. He may have had a glass or two :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1
