Ya'll are gonna be SHOCKED. I watched Portrait of a President with ...um....I think it was Barbara Walters, I can't remember, and now I'm watching the first Presidential Debate! :faint:

I don't know what to think. I'm more impressed with McCain, but have that hangup about Palin. Maybe we'll get lucky and he won't croak while in office. I just think Obama's too young to have enough experience in all areas to have enough knowledge. I just don't know what to think. Hopefully these debates will help my confusion.

They didn't say anything on the newscast. Just that video games sales have increased and are popular among more age groups as a form of escape (similar to the way movies were during the great depression).
Makes sense. I've developed quite an addition to playing Monopoly on my Dell pda, and have found that I play it more often when I'm stressed out and want to give my brain a break from thinking.

Things were a bit calmer today.

I don't have to make my team work this weekend.

A fever pitched hysteria had been reached on Wednesday regarding defects and very nearly people running around flailing their arms about and screaming that the sky is falling.

I won't go into the gory details, but it turned out to be one defect and we are back on track to move to production on Tuesday night, which will be after the end of the quarter.

I know that a lot of people are exasperated with me because I force people onto conference calls and into meeting rooms for huddles. I abhor the tendency of people to send off an email and think that they have communicated. Then hysteria hits and hours and hours and hours and hours are eroded and lost, when it all could have been sorted out in a 3 minute voice to voice conversation.

I'm going to go on record and announce to the world that I am old.

I remember a time before email when the only way to communicate was:

1. Talk face to face
2. Pick up the phone and talk
3. Type a memo, which was tedious and painful, and meant making photocopies, then address interoffice yellow routing envelopes and putting them in interoffice mail.

As a result, of writing a memo taking so long and being so painful most people:

1. Talked face to face

2. Picked up the phone and talked
I'm not saying that email is not useful, but I swear, in many, many ways MORE time is wasted and is LESS efficient as a result of it.

OK, I'm breathing again and will stop venting.

Tonight I have a WW staff meeting from 7 PM to 10 PM. I really don't want to go, but I have to. At least I get paid for them. Albeit minimum wage, but I do get paid.

Tomorrow morning I am subbing an 8 AM and a 9:30 AM meeting for another leader, and then on Sunday I have my own three meetings.

Thank goodness Rosh Hashanah starts on Monday evening and I'm taking Tuesday and Wednesday as PTO days! I'm going to need to be able to sleep in.

(Sleeping in for me means sleeping until 6 AM)

Good for you Ian! I wholeheartedly agree with face to face discussions over email. Another problem with email is that no matter how carefully you word something, there's always one or two people who will interpret it the wrong way. Face to face you also have the benefit of facial expression, and the ability to immediately dispell any miscommunications on the spot instead of the back and forth email game. :thumbsup2

AND......way to go on getting your team the weekend off! :yay:

So who else is wishing they were at WDW with the gang tomorow....:)

How many of us would have to go in on renting our own jet so that each 'coast' could play with the other? TIme to pick up another lotto ticket.

.
ME!!!! On all counts. But whenever you mention buying your lottery ticket, I just never have remembered to do that.

:rotfl2: Reminisce? Heck, that's more channels than what I get now!

I know Friday night is usually my stay up late night, but this week was so exhausting, I just can't stay up any longer. After my 3 day migraine that ended yesterday morning, my head is starting to pound again, so I'm headed to bed.

Goodnight all! :cloud9:

Hi everybody. I have been in hiding. We leave for our Disney cruise 7 weeks!! I am so excited!!

How is everybody?

Hey, Lisa, I haven't seen you on here in a while.

I know, I have been lurking too much. I am keeping up with everything, just sometimes I don't have much to say. If you can believe that.....;)

I can't believe you two!!! Speak up once in a while!!! We miss you!!! You don't need anything scholarly to say here... we usually miss that by miles!!! (especially in the middle of the night... right Bubba???

HI LISA!!!!:wave2: Why have you been hiding from us??? Hope everything is ok.

BUBBA!!! Saw the picture with the Tequila collection!!! Quite impressive!!! Mine consists of a few bottles of swill that won't even make it down your street let alone in your front door... well... maybe it is running down the street... and into the drain!!!

How's V tonight? :cutie:

VERY GOOD!!!!

Tell him we are all proud!!!

Hey Tammy... How's the kids???:grouphug:

Michelle, the top shelf in that picture is our EMPTY bottle collection, and the bottom shelf is our shotglass collection.(Toothpick holders if they are Disney:confused3 ) Sure was fun tasting all those different brands and types of tequila. One of the most unusual tastes was a type of "tequila" called Sotol.(so-toll) Its made from a wild agave species that grows in the hills of Baja, as compared to the plantation raised and most popular blue agave that HAS to be used to make TRUE tequila in a SPECIFIC region of Mexico only! Ramble over!!!:rolleyes1

Gotta love those toothpick holders!!! :rotfl:

Ramble.. NOT... I thank you for my education on the nectars of the Blue Agave!!! :worship: :worship:

Next time we are in each others company... you must let me try something much better than the turpentine I currently drink!!!

just make sure it says 100% blue agave somewhere on the label, and you wont be drinking turpentine. Try putting it in the freezer too. Goes down a lot smoother!:thumbsup2 Or put an icecube in the shotglass. Stay away from Cuervo Gold or margaritas made with it or similar stuff!!!!Most "house" tequila is c r a p!

so I guess this means I don't get to dip into your collection... or was that advice to hold me until we meet again? ;)
