Have a good weekend too Monica!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Thanks for letting us know. I hope she has a great fun time!

No Friday beer night for me tonight. Headed to bed so I can get up at 7 for work in the morning. After reading in bed last night I only ended up with like 4 hours of sleep, so I'm wiped out. Goodnight all! Since I'll be the only one in the office, I'm SURE I'll cheat on my work and DIS a bit, maybe every 15 min or so to take mini-breaks. ;) Well, the nice attorney (the Energizer Bunny), the one whose work I'm doing tomorrow, told me he might stop in on his way back home in the morning after dropping stuff off at his tailgate location for tomorrows MSU/Notre Dame football game. At least I think that's who it is. I wouldn't even know there was a game if it wasn't for Tyler's dad telling me he got free tickets from work and is taking Tyler.

Speaking of his goofy dad, he called me at work and was just babbling away like crazy for no apparent reason. I swear, he's getting so goofy. Then he asked about Tyler's karate gear and bag I just bought (Tyler took it to his dad's house to show him), because he wanted to know how much it cost. I told him it was supposed to be about $340, but the owner knocked some off the price and gave it to me for $250. He told me he's going to give me a check tomorrow for 1/2. I told him that's not necessary because it really wasn't a problem for me to get it, and I don't expect him to do that. He told me he knows I don't expect it of him and that's why he wants to. What the heck happened to him? I'm thinking he got hit in the head at the jobsite on a day when he forgot his hardhat or something. Strange.

Don't argue Holly!!!:rotfl:

I had a hard night but reading through this thread has made me laugh. My Dad has decided he doesn't want an electric wheelchair and we can just push him in is wheelchair. My mom told him he will get a chair as she can't push him up a hill and then it happened, he fell out of his chair. My mom called me and was crying. Well today we all wanted to go down stairs and he tries to come too. He only made it down 2 steps before he fell. He fell backwards but couldn't get back up. We couldn't lift him and he was to weak to get up. It took all 3 of us to get him in his chair. Then my mom and I helped him upstairs to bed. They are adding on a bedroom on the main floor but it will take 6months. They are also going to build a side walk to the downstairs so he can some down. It was horrible though.

We really need this cruise but I am very worried how he will get in the room. But I did get some good news today. We got a room, we will be in 2002. All the way foward but I will deal with it as it has good reports. I had a foward cabin on my first cruise and I could only sleep in it as I got sea sick. I will just take my medicine every day and maybe it will be better since we will have a window. No matter what this is going to be an amazing cruise!!!

Wow that was a long post sorry! Tomorrows will be better, we are having a girls day out, scrapbook convention and mall!!! Matt is being so nice and staying with my Dad.

Jill, how hard for you all coping with your dad's changes with his health and mobility. He must be so frustrated and upset. I am sure once you get onboard you will all relax more and enjoy yourselves.

Is there chance of changing rooms if you think it will be a problem?

Not ALL of us good little girls who grew up to be teachers didn't understand those little boys! I always really enjoyed working with boys, usually more than girls.

Oh, I do agree, we can't generalise! I bet you were a fantastic teacher. I think you would have been very parient and kind too.

Dont talk like that! Marilyn will be on here soon!!!:sad2:

I'm here!!!:lmao:

Jill, I can't imagine how difficult this all is for you, your dad and your whole family.
You really need to have fun on your girls day out, so I hope it's a wonderful day for you! :goodvibes

Good afternoon Marilyn! :goodvibes Just a quick post before heading to work.

I must have been overtired last night after the last couple long days because when my alarm went off, I could tell I hadn't moved from the position I fell asleep in. The covers were completely undisturbed and my whole side felt like I'd been lying on it for a week. Not easy to drag myself up this morning, but I'll be leaving in about 15 min.

Taking lots of Airborne to keep the awful cold away that 3 people at work have. My chest feels funny right now, so I hope I'm not catching it. I doubt it though, because I almost never get sick thanks to Airborne (same with Tyler). :thumbsup2

Bye for now!

Have a good morning's work Holly. I hope you don't come down with the lurgy!:sad2:

Good Morning Mammalian Bipeds!

(I'm trying a new level of specificity to make Marilyn feel better, while walking the delicate tightrope of inclusiveness)

(I actually slept until 6:45 this morning)

my client and I didn't have a good fit. I hate to say it but I find it really hard to work for women. I find that they don't allow themselves to show their vulnerable side and don't take my advice very well. Men for some reason to me are just a better fit. While I did have a good thing happen with her, I decide that I am really sick of what I've been doing for 20+ years. So now with being un (self) employed I can figure out what to do with the next 20 years of my working life. I just wish I had some unemployment to cover this time of no income, but not in the stars for those of us who are self employed.

And thanks about the jury thing, I think I would be a good juror, I just didn't want to do it. I got done with my on call at 10am this morning :goodvibes

Something interesting about what you said ... my boss has said that she never has much luck with women working for her, she gets along better with men. I've worked with her for 8 years at 2 different companies, I have to agree with her. I've seen the women who reported to her. At our last company 2 of them were nearly lunatics.

At this company, there are 4 of us that report to her, 2 men and 2 women. One of the women is so moody that it's unnerving. I've written about her in the past. I managed to stay angry at her for 2 weeks because she pissed me off. That's a record for me, because I can't sustain being angry for more than 10 minutes. When I tried to work everything out, she made it even worse. The guy I work with (Shalisa's husband) and I get along fine, and the other woman, is just great and more like one of the guys.

So, I'm not sure what it is.

On a side note, what I find extremely funny is when a woman tries flirting with me to get her way. I'm not sure they know they're doing it, or perhaps they are. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen.

It is just so amusing. I haven't the heart to tell them that it's a complete waste of time.

Good Morning Marilyn, Good Morning Ian AND NAN TOO!

That's how I do it!

I'm just sitting here waiting for John to get up so that we can have coffee together and chat before starting our day.

The leg is much better today. John cleaned it with the iodine scrub last night and then wrapped it good. It's fine now. John is my hero!

Today's agenda is: PACK!!!!!

It has to be ready to go in the car on Wednesday. I have to take it out of the suitcase from the PC trip......it still has Donald Duck on the tag.......guess I gotta take that off.......then sort through what I'm bringing this time and not, then do laundry then repack it. It makes it easier not to unpack after the last trip because it's all in one place already......just needs to be sorted and cleaned.....then voila......ready for repack and go.

I need to get all that finished so that I can start on my tote bag. Fortunately there is no flying involved so I don't have to worry about weight and containers getting thrown out. John however did say that we're driving down in a convertible so there's no trunk space so keep it limited. Ya know, it's always something.

I can't wait until we hit somewhere around South Carolina or Georgia and the sun is about to come up and the top on the car goes down. It's a great feeling.....leaving the Northern states and getting to the Southern ones.....feeling the temperature change.

Knowing my husband, we probably won't take a hotel room on the drive down. He'll be too excited and will want to drive the whole way. We will stop at one on the way home, more than likely.

I'm anxious to get started and go!

Jill, sorry that things are so hard for you and Matt and your family.

Ian, didn't you already have cable internet?

No, I have DSL with AT&T. Ironically, my DSL was fine until I "upgraded."

I've just gotten tired of the DSL going out completely and the same insane conversation with AT&T everytime it goes out. One of these frustrating conversations, for the 100th time about phone filters, I told them that an AT&T person was in the alley doing work and perhaps it might have more to do with something getting screwed up than my phone filters.

We had no DSL for 8 hours that day, and then it came back.

The miraculous thing is that it came back without my ever touching a phone filter.

I'm switching in the dire hope that I might have more reliable service.

How exciting. Nothing like being on the verge of a trip to WDW.

Well it isn't long at all till you set off Deb!!! I'm worried I will forget to say goodbye as we go on Tuesday early, so I'm going to say now.

Have a great trip!!

Have a good morning's work Holly. I hope you don't come down with the lurgy!:sad2:
Thanks Marilyn! I don't think I'll get sick, I usually don't. But I'm getting lots done today at work and thought I'd pop on for a tiny break. :goodvibes

I am absolutely useless and he can't understand it!!!:lmao:
:rotfl2: Thanks Marilyn! Tried it a couple times, can't figure out how to make that stupid monkey kick farther! :rotfl: No time for more play though, back to my piles of work. ;)
