I doubt it. And even if he did, he'd google until he found a different opinion. He likes to play sort of a "battle of the research" to find something that contradicts anything I send him. I've learned the best thing to do is do what I think is best when Tyler's here and let his dad see the differences. He always ends up figuring it out.

Yup  DETECTIVE :cool2: HOLLY is at it again.

She knows how to make things work out best for Tyler :woohoo:

Tyler wins again when TEAM TYLER has a Secret Agent :cool2: Holly on the job! ::yes::

Kinda tough to end at my house. We are in the interior - land locked. It's an 8 hour drive to the ocean.

Take this map of BC:

Map_BC.jpg

Find the middle of the province, and you will (basically) find us. Just as an indicator, the bottom left hand corner is Vancouver, BC - home of the 2010 Winter Olympics. (Actually in the pic we are categorized as "Northern").

And sorry, no locks to get the Magic through to my place! ;)

Well closer to you than me ;) So you would still fly home? And I guess no CC for that one!

Isn't Madeira a form of port? So therefore, Madiera is a port and it is also a port.

(And a cake)

I love port  and ports and not cake so much but if it is chocolate and chocolate frosting I may love it too...or cheese but I don't eat that anymore :sad1:

I sure miss Tammy! I cherish the memory of our Palo dinner that first night and really enjoyed our conversations, plus some wonderfully amazing things she did for me. Despite all the sadness she's been through, her good spirit shines through.

Wish I'd met her.
 Glad she was a help to you.

I just read on Facebook, something from half of a couple who are really good friends of ours.

I think Michael is turning 50 this year (or maybe 49). His partner Tim gave him 4 days in Cairo, a 7 day cruise down the Nile, and 5 days in England as a birthday present.

I got emailed a photograph of 3 baby owls for my birthday (absolutely true).

Seriously, I sometimes feel funny when we're with friends and talking about vacations, because we go to WDW so much, and when we go on a cruise, we go on DCL.

They all seem to do much more "grown-up" things, trips to Europe, California Wine Country Holidays, gay cruises.

Anyone else ever feel that way? (well not about the gay cruise part).

In some ways I sometimes feel out of touch with our friends because they seem to prefer to do things that are sort of, well more "mature."

They consider themselves a "doggy spa." Let's put it this way, Sukie and I don't even get that kind of treatment when we go on vacation.

I was looking up their phone number yesterday and I came across these 2 news pieces from local Chicago televison.

You'll see what I mean:

WOW, that's a really cool place! I do remember how Tallulah & Truman were treated during the cruise, so they deserve a cool place like this! :thumbsup2

Harry always gets teased at work about our DCL cruises and WDW trips. It's hard to explain our obsession with the mouse. People just don't understand.:confused3 We figure it's their loss.:goodvibes

Weather answer for TA/Med. May beautiful. First week of June excellent. Apparently hot after that... like Africa hot ... oh yeah, it is close to Africa!

Madeira is also a wine.

That is true, and I believe they use it in their Madeira cake!!

There are lots of places you can get a sample of the wine.:rolleyes1

Well we suffer from this as well. Our friends think we are kind of pathetic, a bit sad, daft, etc etc. But I know who has the most fun on their hols!!:lmao: :lmao:

Anyway, you are off to California, thinking of going to Europe(albeit on DCL) so perhaps you are actually growing up!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I can't answer this because when we got home all of our friends and people we didn't even know that well kept asking how we afforded to go on Disney. A lot of them take other cruise lines and others do other vacations but thought that Disney was out of price range for them. We knew one family that flew to WDW and stayed for two weeks. Going to all the parks and staying at WDW. I know they paid more than us but just assumed the cruise was too much. We do have kids though so that may be different. And my friend, who went on a week long DCL cruise said it was too much for her. She didn't like the characters and she hated how nice the food was :confused3 And she has two kids.

I could go on another cruise line and probably be happy but I would miss talking to everyone before the cruise, like we do here. It was nice bumping into people everywhere and spending a lot of time with others. Brooke wouldn't stay in the clubs unless she knew someone so it was nice to meet people that had kids the same age.

Has Michelle checked in yet today? Just starting to catch up.

Are these the same friends that didn't want to look at the pictures. Maybe if they would have, they would see how much fun we had. I want to know what the grandkids think ;)

I can't believe we're travelling again.

Even though it's only a 6-day trip I've started getting everything together.

Our biggest issue are the dogs, Tallulah and Truman.

Some of you might recall that we came home from the repo cruise to an unfortunate situation.

Boarding 2 dogs is very expensive, about $90 a day. What we did for the cruise was get a friend of Sukie in to dog-sit.

He really needed the money and we saved a lot of money. I paid him very well, and he really didn't need to do very much, just feed them, and let them out. It was very easy cash in-pocket.

Plus he got to stay our our place, which for him would be a bit of luxury, what with the 2 flat screen TVs, HD satellite, Blue-Ray, etc. We also did all the grocery shopping so he would be well supplied.

When we came back, we got an earful from our neighbors/tenants upstairs, who themselves have 2 dogs.

They told us that the dogs were locked in their crate most of the day, and they would hear him yelling at them.

Sukie was extremely upset, and has stopped talking to him altogether.

It's a same, because he really does need the money and it was so easy.

So, we've had to find a new boarding place. The place we had been using was good, but too far away, plus they weren't the most cooperative people around, insisting that everything be done at their convenience.

We tried a new boarding place when we did our overnight in Canada. It was recommended by our vet. They're not too far away from our house (about 3/4 of a mile), plus they offer pick-up and drop-off which is great considering these things frequently need to happen when I'm at work and Sukie doesn't drive.

Their pricing is pretty comparable to other boarding places.

H O W E V E R .... I do think they are a tad "over the top." I'm actually a bit embarrassed by the place and find it verging on silly.

This maybe a bit over the top, but atleast you know that your pups are being WELL taken care of, and not closed into a crate...

Let's face it, most of the fun of a Disney Cruise is the ship itself, so where it goes does it really matter?
Ken, that's exactly how I feel. Except now, I can't take longer than a week anymore since I'm now officially considered full time. We're not allowed to have more than a week at a time. Up to now, I was working only 2 hours less than full time, so I was considered part time and didn't have to follow any of their regulations. Now I'm stuck with one week. And I don't even get a week paid vacation until AFTER a year from today, which is fine because we won't be traveling until at least a year from now, it just stinks only being able to take one week now.

The thoughts this week at our dismeet were that they will not leave the Caribbean before the new ships are coming over the next year, so they will do alternating 10 & 11 night southern caribbean cruises.

I'd be interested in these too.

Yes these are the friends, and no, seeing the photos would just confirm their thoughts!!!:lmao:

I don't think the grandkids realise that going to Disney is odd for oldies to be honest. One did ask why we kept going there but that is all. Our eldest grandaughter just says 'I don't like Disney'. This comes because she was terrified of the characters and didn't like the rides when we went to DLRP 4 years ago!!

That is what we did last year, 14 nights on the TA and then 11 nights in the med. It was 25 nights on the Magic.

Castaway Cay
Tenerife, Canary Islands
Cadiz, Spain
Gibraltar, UK
Barcelona, Spain
Palermo, Sicily
Naples, Italy (Huge selection of places to go we went to Amalfi Coast, Sorrento)
Rome, Italy
La Spezia, Italy (this was a huge selection of places to go,we went to Pisa)
Olbia, Sardinia (a waste of time, but I did pasta cooking class with Joey Fatone and his family)
Marseilles, France (a big stop, we went to Aix on Provence)
Villefranche, France (another big stop with many selections. We went to Nice, Monte Carlo)
Then most of us flew to Paris.

These are considered "normal" Med cruise ports....ones I want to do are considered Northern European or Baltic cruises.

It's not too bad because they are not going into a "suite". Only about $45 per dog, which is pretty much the going rate here in Chicago.

I wish I could find someone, someone's teenager, who could be trusted and also would like to pick up some extra money.

The dogs are really not any trouble.

Move to Central Florida & you'd have someone (ME) :lmao:
