Just a quick stop...finally got rid of the migraine...about 2 hrs ago. Been sleeping as much as possible since I got home Friday. Normal time frame - if no meds my migraines last 72hrs....with new depression med I can't take migraine med...will need to see if I can take Excedrin Migraine.
Looks like you've given me about 50 pages to read...seems like old times![]()
Hello Kaylee. I've missed you and I hope you are feeling well.
When I concentrate too much on something that involves thinking (like scrapbooking, writing) I stick my tongue out to the side....yet 1 more thing to add to the "she's weird" category![]()
And by the way, Kaylee, it's GREAT to see you here more!![]()
PLEASE DON'T SEND HIM TO MY HOUSE!
What's the youngest you all have sent kids to summer camp?
OK, do you want the professional jargon? It reads something like this:
This Alcohol Alert explains, by understanding alcohol metabolism, we can learn how the body can dispose of alcohol and discern some of the factors that influence this process. Studying alcohol metabolism also can help us to understand how this process influences the metabolism of food, hormones, and medications.
Metabolism is the body's process of converting ingested substances to other compounds. Metabolism results in some substances becoming more, and some less, toxic than those originally ingested. Metabolism involves a number of processes, one of which is referred to as oxidation.
Through oxidation, alcohol is detoxified and removed from the blood, preventing the alcohol from accumulating and destroying cells and organs. A minute amount of alcohol escapes metabolism and is excreted unchanged in the breath and in urine. Until all the alcohol consumed has been metabolized, it is distributed throughout the body, affecting the brain and other tissues. etc., etc., etc.,
OK, here's the simplified version:
Jonathan: "Empty calories, no nutritive value."
Kelly: "They want you to clear your brain because it's a CNS depressant that affects your metabolism and ability to process food productively. And it clears your palate to change your eating habits."
Other votes: "They don't want you to have any fun!"
Hey Nan, you may find the wish forum really helpful. My friend has been on it for years and has lost about 43 pounds.![]()
Hey Gaylean!I'm trying to pop on here more regularly again. I have gotten so used to my sight as it is that I can read again which means I can post again!!!

I understand all of this, but frankly I think I have to find a balance that works for me. And now and then I like to have a glass of wine, or a rum and coke, just as much as I like to have french fries or chocolate cake. Those aren't of any good value in my diet either.
If I could travel and or have a personal chef I'd be fine. Remember I'm the one that loses weight on cruises (and any other vacation I'm on for that fact) I have lazy eating habits at home and don't get out and exercise.
Phew, good thing I decided to try and skim posts this am![]()

Sounds like a plan to me....we have lots of room for guests!!!!![]()
I have a feeling that DCL will sail out of LA to AK though....I think it would just be too strange to have DCL cruising from here...but I would LOVE it if they did!

And about mirgraines
I was reading magazine called Woman's Own -
Suzanne Shaw : Botox beat my migraines
The Dancing Of Ice star, 25 tried an unusual approach to treat her headaches.
When Suazanne Shaw began to get throbbing headaches and nausea in 2006, she took drastic action ' I was getting really bad migraines with nosebleeds that came on suddenly', she says.
Her GP suggested Botox, thought to reduce muscle tension that can trigger mirgraines. It sound good, but Suzanne worried about side effects, I had it in my forehead and I thought, "Now apart from once on stage when couldn't frown, her fears weren't realised. And the treatement cured her migraines.

And do you notice there are more pictures of the first kid? Tom's theory is that when there is one kid you have a photographer and a point person. When there are two kids, each is a point person and no one has hands free for the camera.

Deb & Marilyn, Have you seen this yet?
U.K. Docs Want Graphic Warnings on Alcohol Packages
July 11, 2008
Email Print Subscribe News Summary
Alcoholic beverages should feature the same kind of graphic images and warnings found on tobacco products, according to members of the British Medical Association (BMA).
The Independent reported July 10 that delegates at the BMA's annual meeting in Edinburgh said that images of diseased livers should be displayed on beer bottles and cans and wine and liquor bottles. They also called for images to be posted in bars and for packages to display how many units of alcohol they contain.
The motion in support of the labels was approved by BMA delegates by a wide margin.
