It was funny at work today - I'm all excited to have 24 hours at home ALONE and my co-worker is all sad because her daughters gone camping with grandparents and she is missing her so much. I felt a moment of guilt that I'm not missing my children, but then gave myself a mental smack and said no guilt enjoy ME time and then tomorrow time it'll be back to Family time :goodvibes

I usually look forward to the me time and then end up hating it because I'm alone but I am alone right now and it is alright so far. Of course I have you guys so I guess I'm not alone.

Oh and I need to do the dishes too. And make the cupcakes and salsa and mac salad and cut the veggies for the tray. I hope that's it or I'll never finish!

Are you doing all that tonight :scared1: or saving some to start your day tomorrow? Is Brooke excited and will she be helping you do all that stuff? Or is she not much of a help if she's all excited (my girls aren't helpful when excited)

Long ago, but people didn't take to them very well, so they're very rare. There are two kinds. There's a silver colored one, that's the same size as quarters (which is what causes confusion with cashiers who don't see them often) and the gold colored Sacajawea ones (which is what Tyler got from the tooth fairy a couple weeks ago at his dad's house).

It was gold ones we got. We've had the coins for so long, and sometimes there's talk about going to a $5 coin:scared1:

We loved the $1 coins when we lived in Calgary. We had to use a laundromat and didn't have to track down $1 bills the machines would accept. Never had that problem with the coins :thumbsup2

Remember a while back when I mentioned that Extreme Makeover Home Edition is coming to Lansing? Well, I never heard any more about it until just now on the news. They have a producer or somebody from the show talking about how they can't find a local builder company willing to help! What the heck?! And they're asking for volunteers to email the guy through the tv station's website. Cool! I'd love to help with that, for sure! I just hope it ends up being over a time while Tyler's gone so I can help. :thumbsup2

I always boycott dishes :thumbsup2

I don't mind :laundy: but for some reason despise doing dishes :confused3

I don't mind cooking or deep cleaning but I hate dishes and laundry. For some reason when I get excited it gets worse and the whole house is a mess :rolleyes1

Noooo.......parents are SUPPOSED to enjoy their "ME" time! It's so rare. Enjoy while you can! A well rested parent is a better parent!

Oh, bite me! You'll be there soon enough! ;)

That's the problem. I need to get it out of my system now while I can drink more than one beer without getting a hang over. I would have been hung over every day on the cruise!

 when did they start the $1 coins in US? I got some in change coming home from our cruise and that's the first I knew you had them.

Holly's answer is below... the first one were Susan B. Anthony (fought for the right to vote...) then the Sacka whatever (I could never spell that name) and they were gold... now they are coming out with the ones with the presidents on it - mostly it's because it was wildly popular with the 50 state quarters that they've had for about 10 years... Nobody likes to use them... they are heavy... we like paper... or plastic... (bags or coins... :rotfl: )

Keep us posted! Here's hoping you find an approach that helps! :thumbsup2

Jan :earsgirl:

Working on it... I hope to get help, but I have to find someone who isn't going to undo all the work I've done... fun stuff.... :)

Oh and I need to do the dishes too. And make the cupcakes and salsa and mac salad and cut the veggies for the tray. I hope that's it or I'll never finish!

Gaylean... you need the Merrymaids and a caterer...

See above...

mugs work great as cereal bowls :thumbsup2

Oh forget the mug... eat it out of the box... :upsidedow

Wow that is really old.

You know... my brother sent me a birthday card about how incredibly old I'm getting... funny thing... HE'S OLDER THAN ME!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I like grocery shopping, cooking and laundry - that's it for me as a domestic goddess. I try to get Darrell to unload the dishwasher and I load it but he does all the other cleaning.

For coloring... :rolleyes1

I spent the day at the VERY real Saratoga Springs Historic Racecourse!!! (it's over 100 years old...) It is sort of the Kentucky Derby of the north... I live 20 miles away from SS (not the resort although Ian insists that SS got the idea from DISNEY!!!:rotfl: ) We only have a 6 week racing season...tomorrow is the Travers stakes... Mary Lou (Vanderbilt) Whitney has her charity ball on Aug 1st every year (I NEVER get invited... :snooty: ) We go to the backyard area of the course, camp out with our chairs and coolers and hang out with all the rest of the beautiful people!!!

I live in horse country... and cow country... and deer country... and moose country... I know poop.... :flower3:

Racecourse sounds neat. Unfortunately I know poop - the last 2 springs the deer come right through town, eat my tulips before they bloom and poop on my lawn

Mostly, we're down to all the little bits and pieces you just don't know what to do with but don't want to throw out cause then you'll need whatever the mystery thing was. Oh and we haven't unpacked any books - waiting until after we get our new bed and find a sofa to decide where to put all the bookshelves and we figure they will be much easier to move if they are still empty.

It took me 3 years to get properly unpacked. Maybe we just collect too much stuff :confused3

So are you saying that we have lives or that you should stop jabbering :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

HOLLY must keep chatting! I'm guaranteed at least a few posts to read when I take sanity breaks at work :lmao: :lmao: :goodvibes

With todays technology never alone unless you want to be :goodvibes

Oh she wants to help with everything but gets in the way sometimes. I let her wash the windows, even though I knew I would probably have to do it again. When I looked at her later half the bottle was gone and she had sprayed the TV and we have a big screen :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: She was soaked in windex!

No need to explain, I never said I didn't like it :confused3
;) Good answer! OK, I don't have to hit you now. Oh, wait, that's Nan's job. :rotfl2: Hmmmm......I don't think she's slapped anybody for a while, has she? :rotfl:

I just don't get that show - I think the basic premise is great, I just can't help thinking the few times I've watched it, that if they went less extreme they could houses for 3 families instead of 1. And how do these families end up affording the taxes on these fantastic houses? Of course, I adore Ty :lovestruc I guess its just an example of why Ken says I'm too negative.

I would say yes but since I haven't posted my pics from Bubba and Venetia's house, I probably wouldn't hold my breathe if I were you :lmao:
You slacker! We want to see pics! ;) And then you have me, the other extreme......usually post pics within 1/2 hour of getting home from somewhere! :rotfl2: Gee, I think I need to get a life or something!

......Gee.....I wish I knew what I was doing on Saturday, Sept 6th...:confused3 Will I really be icing cupcakes, making Gumby colored frosting, shoveling donkey poop?????

.

All that while you are in your floor length period gown with a bustle in the back. AHHH the vision!

I would love the merrymaids but I wouldn't trust a caterer ;)

Do you get hang overs after one beer?
