Hi Marilyn

Ken and Shannon - great work on the kitchen. I remember paper and flooring like that!!! I think I chose some once!:lmao:

It is funny looking back at fashions. At the time we MUST have things fashionable, but in later years we can't believe anybody would. Just look at 80's hair styles and padded shoulder pads.

HERE IS THE CHAIN OF THAT CONVERSATION:

My fare on the ship so I can help Michelle keep you out of trouble.

:confused3 NO?

Jan

Erm, let me thing - NO!!:rolleyes1

Wii Lego Indiana Jones.

I have joined the ranks of people here playing Indiana Jones on the Wii.

I picked it up yesterday (I traded in some games). I'm having a lot of fun with it. It's cute.

Too bad you can't play with other people online, like with XBox and the PS3.

John spent 3/4 hours on Indiana Jones yesterday afternoon:eek: . He gets stuck all the time, so after a while I look at the book and sort him out!!:lmao: I can't imagine how anyone finds out what to do without the book. However John has only collected 1 artefact so far(misses picking them up) and seems to have dipped in and out of the first 2 films without finishing the first one!!! He has no idea really what he is doing.:lmao: He really enjoys it though.

Here you go Jan - I'll just repost the pics for you:

You 2 look fantastic!

His parents named him Kenneth Vincent and just called him Vincent... his confirmation name was John so he thought his name was Vincent John until he went to go to college and needed his birth certificate and he went to get it and they didn't have the name registered but they did have a Kenneth born on the same day...

I also have Adam and Eve for grandparents... (but one on each side of the family...)

You have a fascinating family, you should write a book!:)

Never was a company picnic so outrageous.
Some girls running around in swim suits while others are in full skirts with crinolines and HIGH HEELS :scared1:

We studied Pajama Game in 8th grade as our music teacher had been in it. I have no idea what part he played or where, but he sure thought it was a great show. I do not remember what I thought of it at the time, but a trip to IMDb and this clip makes me think I am glad I am not spending money on it.

Sorry if that hurts anyone's feelings.... Give me Disney cartoons any day! CARS :car: ENCHANTED princess: MONSTERS INC :sulley: LILO AND STITCH :stitch: FANTASIA :smickey: etc.

JMHO

:rolleyes1 Jan

I love all those old musicals. I think I was brought up on them, and out town had a local Amateur Operatic Society which did a show each year, and of course this type was very popular. We had all the records too. I think I sang along to them and pretended I was in the shows. Fortunately they didn't 'do' proper opera.

Well it's only fair. You suckered so many of us into getting a Wii Fit.

Lemme guess, you're gonna get "The Force Unleashed" for the Wii just like me when it comes out on Sept 19!

Deborah, I thin k it is in the thread about 2010 itineraries. someone came opn and said either they or someone they know(I've forgotten) had just been on the Wonder and the rumour chat was all about the Med. There was another post saying a CM had said it was the Med.

Makes you wonder if DCL are putting out rumours just to keep us all guessing!!!

Hi Marilyn

Don't worry and I will hear about it soon.

I don't think Ian is keen about it so I wait and see

No Ian yet? He is usually the first of you over there to post. I guess he is having a lie in!

Hello everyone. I can't sleep and I'm pages behind. Anything I should know about ;)

Hi Gaylean.

Can't remember how long it is since you were here, but much of the discussion has been the 2010 itinerary!! Rumours are noiw strongly for the Med, but if it is alaska, there is a group on here going to knit you and me woolly scarves, socks and complete underwear!!!:scared1:

Sorry you can't sleep. Any reason? Nan had a cold a few days ago and had 2 bad nights.

Poor Deb is suffering bad with her leg but John is taking good care of her.

Michelle is riding out Hurricane Gustav in Texas. She has been sharing some of her family history - like a movie it is!!!

Tammy's been here!!!:cool1:

Ian and Sukie have chosen their wedding song(s)

Mmmm, really need witty Michelle to do a round up of news!!:lmao:

Maybe I should go back and read :scared1: I hope they verify with me before they start knitting. I'm getting scared again :scared1: Don't tell Venetia

No, we watched a movie last night and I always fall asleep during movies so really I was a sleep on the couch by 8:30. I guess I had enough sleep.

Wow, you guys were busy! I remember about the hurricane and Deb's leg. The last I heard a song from Ian it was a funny one. I'm glad to hear Tammy is here again. How are you? It is too hard for me to come on here on the weekends since we only have one computer now and I have to share

This pathetic because I'm quoting myself but I have to ask a question. How much fun would an Alaskan cruise be for the kids? I can just imagine "Look kids, there is another animal" and "Isn't this beautiful, I know you can't swim like the other cruise but this is much more educational". :lmao: :lmao:

Jon is awake now so I'll check back in after he is done on here.

Well today was a major overhaul in the kitchen day. Took out a bunch of the cabinets and tackled the z-brick. Heck we even took down some wood panelling that was on one wall and took the popcorn off of another wall.

But you should see the stuff we found!

Here is a piece of wallpaper that was found behind one cabinet. Can you imagine an entire kitchen covered with this stuff?

And here is where our island used to be. Check out that gorgeous brown lino that is at the bottom. I found this in our foyer and on our staircase too. The whole house must have been coevered in it!!

And here I am removing the wood panelling. Lots of holes but I'm glad it is gone.

And here is Shannon removing some more of that accursed Z-brick. We still have more to take off!
154602.jpg

Lots done today but we still have LOTS to do.

I give you guys a lot of credit for taking on these tasks yourself.

Our house was built in 1913.

Sukie and I once removed wallpaper in a little entry foyer. It was like and archeological dig. We went past literally decades of wallpaper. When we hit the 1920's we hit some fabulous art deco paper that we really liked.

We never made it earlier than the '20's because the wall fell down.

No kidding, the entire wall fell. The plaster just crumbled and came away from the lathe.

We were standing there looking at rubble and nothing there but the lathe.

The wallpaper had been holding up the wall.

We then had to get someone in to drywall.

That was just one of our many of our stories about our attempts at home renovation and how the house rebelled.

.

Ian, I love both of these songs! When I watch the first one, it has a few glitches in it; is it that way for you? It really bothers me because the song is so beautiful and I wanted to download it to my iPod. I looked for it on iTunes but it's not there---

Also loved the carrot addiction article!:lmao:

I loved that movie!:goodvibes

Congrats to Wilson for his great finish! I'm sure looking forward to seeing Molly and Wil next weekend!

I enjoyed Brideshead Revisited. I'd neither read the book nor seen the original TV series, but a friend who had seen the TV series thought it was very true to it.

Sounds like everyone is casting their vote(s) for the next cruise--I'd go through the PC again in a heartbeat, especially with all my buds! And I'd LOVE to go to Alaska--the colder the better, as far as I'm concerned.:thumbsup2 I'm soooooo ready for summer to end. Today it was in the low 70s here--wonderful!!! :dance3:

Cheri - yes, that song has glitches in it for me too. Funny, because I also went to iTunes. I think that it's only available via CD, and I know it will be too obscure to find it in a store here and not enough time for an online purchase and the mail.

Now I have to go see Brideshead. I wish they were showing it at the movie theater down the block so we could just walk over, but they aren't. I guess we'll have to go to a more artsy theater.
