Lots of catching up to do once again

Does anyone remember when I first posted, sometime late last fall I believe, about my friend's grandson being diagnosed with cancer? He is 6 yrs old and they removed a tumour but then found spots on his liver and lungs? He's been going through chemo treatment, along with some radiation treatments ever since. He only has about a month of treatments left, I believe. He has done so well :goodvibes but it has not been an easy year for his family. The spots have shrunk, and some have dissappeared altogether! He is having another MRI soon and I know they would really appreciate any prayers you can send their way for Micah. His mom and dad and brother and sister were supposed to go to a special camp for kids with cancer, but his white blood cells are non existant at the moment so the risk of infection is too high. On a happy note, they have been told Micah can submit a request to Make-a wish foundation for 2009, he has chosen a trip to WDW followed by a 3-4 night cruise!!! Would be grateful for any pixie dust that could be sent his way :grouphug: Thanks!

Kathe

This is so strange because I knew a child when I was a kid that had cancer and his name was Micah. He will be in my prayers and so will his family.

Here's another cake we don't want:

So you don't like the fairy-castle themed cakes :confused3

I want to apologize in advance for looking like this...this weekend.

I'm not really sure why that came up us a link instead of a picture.

Be careful of what you wish for.

Woody

:lmao: :thumbsup2

That's what I told him ... of course it goes without saying that we have expressly said, no gifts.

Speaking of which .... considering I'm turning 52 next week, should I give up on the dream that my real parents are going to drive up in the Silver Cloud Rolls and give me my birthright?

As an adolescent, I used to tell my parents that I knew they were not my real parents ... my real parents were rich and left me with simple and humble people to build character, and I would reward them when they came to claim me and I received my birthright.

It's a wonder I made it through my adolescence alive.

So am I!!!:rotfl2:

You're too funny! Now, I thought you were going to be 53 this time -- I am obviously very confused now.:rolleyes1

Hi everyone!

Just checking in to say hello since I had my laptop.

Really have no time to catch up, and regret that I can't be here very often.

My Browns are right now beating the Jets + Favre.

Alex took the tickets and went to the game with a friend who is home. Preseason so I am OK with that.

Hi John, so glad you popped in. Hope all is going well with you all, and soon the frantic pace of life will be settling.

Lots of catching up to do once again

I hope you are all taking your tiaras.

What are John and Venetia looking at :lmao:

gaylean93

The invisible cruiser?

Actually, John looks bored! Of course, the meeting of everyone was more exciting for me of course as it was me who had been chatting for 15 months!!

Just in case you miss me, we are away for the weekend to our friends in the country.

Will be back Sunday evening, but I am not expecting there to be many pages to have to catch up on!!!:lmao:

Those going to the reunion have a great time and think of us all with fond memories. We are very jealous.

We will want loads of pictures.

Not sure I will get to check in again before we go so I will say bye now.:wave2:

Actually Gaylean, looking at that picture again, even though you are sozzled, you still look very pretty!!!

That's crazy:mad: ! Especially at a water park - they should no better! Did he at least have a T-shirt on? Our daycare makes all the kids wear t-shirts with swimsuits, because it makes sunscreen so much easier.
Nope, not even a t-shirt. :sad2: I talked to him on the phone last night and he says it's still pretty sore, but I assured him it will feel better today. Better and better every day. At least the teachers did put some aloe lotion on it a few times yesterday that his stepmom sent with him.

His bottom front teeth both fell out over a year ago, the first one when he was 4 and the 2nd one when he was 5, and a front top one has been loose for a month. It finally came out last night (that's why he called me). He's so glad because this was a tough one. It hurt all the time, and would bleed lots whenever he ate. He'd wake up in the morning telling me it hurt. I don't remember my teeth hurting when they were loose and coming out, so I'm not sure what was up with that, so I'm glad it's out! And I'm glad it happened at his dad's house for a change. It grosses me out, BIG TIME!

They had it a couple of times:thumbsup2 . I know I ended up with 2 DOD's at once because of it - can't remember what they were though. :confused3 something with fruit juice and rum :confused3
Wow, I totally missed that! I only had a couple drinks on the cruise anyway. Things just didn't work out well in that regard.

Marilyn, have a wonderful weekend! I hope the rain stays away for your visit. You will be missed here for sure. :goodvibes

Okee dokee, off to work! Have a great day everybody! :thumbsup2

Now you're making me feel bad :sad1:

Were you having the kids carry in drinks for you? :lmao:

Morning cruisers....how did it get to be Friday again so soon? Ah well, perhaps THIS weekend I'll do some chores! We'll see................

.

Hi guys, We've just been so terribly busy this past week! I'm very far behind will get caught up this weekend during the OLYMPICS! I'm so very excited about opening day. I love every bit and plan to watch 7 networks 24 hours a day for the next 14 days.

Happy Olympics Everyone!!!

Poor Tyler got horribly sunburned yesterday. The field trip with the school was to a water park from 9am to 5:30pm. I sent sunscreen with him (the kind Jan let me try on the cruise that doesn't cause him to break out - NoAd). I stressed the necessity for him to have it and also to have it reapplied frequently because he's so fair. Tyler says a teacher put some on him before they left the school in the morning and THAT'S IT. I normally don't burn, but even I would get burned after that many hours in a pool in the sun! I learned all this because his dad e-mailed me this morning telling me how furious he is with the school and stepmom really lit into the teachers this morning when she dropped Tyler off. She left Solarcaine (or somthing similar for sunburns) with the teacher and told them to put it on whenever he says it hurts. He didn't sleep most of the night because it was so sore, and that was with having cold & wet towels on to cool him. :sad2: Poor kid.
Poor Tyler! I am glad he got sunscreen at the beginning of the day at least. How is he doing now?

Jan :sad2:

Man, I wish you lived in Phoenix and had a Nielsen 'people meter'!

Olympics are usually a great two weeks for us, but with this year's economy, we are not sold out, so it won't be quite so 'kick back' for me this time.

Speaking of which.....time to hit the shower and head off to work.

Hi Deborah! I'm glad the weather finally turned nice for you! Great news about your work giving you the time off. Have fun! :)

I'm exhausted and am going off to bed.

Since I don't know what's going on with this wedding. I just wanted to show you an example of they type of wedding cake I don't want:

castlecake03_jpg.jpg

.....Kelly... Nan...

CANCEL THE CAKE!!!!!

:thumbsup2 KELLY--NAN!! Note, Ian does not like this CAKE, but apparently the balloon sculpture is fine. Perhaps it would surround the chuppah?

Jan :earsgirl:

Poor Tyler! I am glad he got sunscreen at the beginning of the day at least. How is he doing now?

Jan :sad2:
Well, the sunscreen he got at the beginning of the day was useless because by the time they got to the waterpark it would have been time to reapply (I reapply after 2 hours). I don't know how he is today, but by the time I see him tomorrow, he'll be much better.
