Just a quickie folks (I'm at work).

The results are in for the Energizer hall of Fame.

The following is from Shalisa:

Dear Supporters:

I wanted to let you know that Ron Bachmann, a really amazing individual, has won the Energizer Bunny Award for 2008.

I want to thank all of you for your incredible support and dedication to making this nomination possible. I know that through this campaign many people were either introduced or reconnected to Merit in ways that I know will benefit our organization serving thousands of deserving students in Chicagoland. What the Energizer Corporation may not know is that we have an entire field of Energizer Bunnies right here at Merit!

Thank you again for your amazing efforts!

Best,

Shalisa Kline Ugaz

Wow, that guy must be really popular.

Told you I am dense. :confused3 This train of thought has me PUZZLED!

Who is all booked?
How did you look?
Why is it funny?
If Gaylean bought out the ship, then why can't she come too? and bring Venetia and Bubba?

Jan :confused3

That's what I'm wondering....and anyone else who begs me :worship:

a recap:
I posted that I was going to upgrade to a Cat 6
Gaylean said, sorry, the ship was full
I said, very funny (as in very funny, smarty-pants)
Michelle said that Gaylean bought out the rest of the ship

and you are right...if she had...they'd all be coming too! ::yes::

FYI...there IS still room on the ship. :thumbsup2

.

I was going to keep her thinking that I just bought out the ship so you couldn't go ;)

Hi Marilyn, and anyone else who cares. I'm checking in. Today I went to my mommies house and we had lunch at a really good mexican restaurant and now I have heart burn. When we got home, Brooke informed me that she had gum in her arm pit so I spent awhile trying to get that out. The entire time I was just thanking God that it wasn't in her hair :scared1: Now I'm trying to decide what to do for dinner because Jon was going to BBQ and he is going to work late today. My troubles are small today but who knows what tomorrow brings. I did realize today that there are only 25 more days of summer :sad1:

Today's Saga ...

Sukie and I went this evening to do our normal weekly grocery shopping. We drove up to Evanston (this figures in later in the story).

In the supermarket, a guy come hurtling after us with his cart and stops Sukie. "You were in that documentary, weren't you? I really enjoyed you!" Sukie murmurs thanks, and we walk away.

Sukie is a bit horrified because he's, "Not dressed to meet the public." I just roll my eyes.

Now for the rest of the shopping and driving experience ...

Have any of you ever seen the program, "Keeping Up Appearances?" It is a older British comedy that airs on public TV.

I have to admit that sometimes, Sukie reminds me of Hyacinth Bucket (pronounced Bouquet if you please).

On the drive back, Sukie says that he prefers shopping in Evanston, because you meet such a nicer class of people. Then he warns me to mind a pothole, which I need to say is on the opposite side of the street.

Usually I hold my tongue but this time I said, "Yes Hyacinth."

He shot me a rather unpleasant look.

Oh I just LOVE Hyacinth! and....I can see the resemblance.

and....I think Sukie and Dianne (big sister) may be kindred spirits as I could totally translate the players in that scene to the two of us ::yes::

Time to head for the hills and find something wholesome for dinner.....

:rotfl2: OK, I have to ask, how did she get gum in her armpit?! :rotfl:

Wow, I just dozed for a little less than 2 hours on the couch. Felt great! I'm trying to stay awake to watch Hopkins, but doubt I'll make it.

I saw my very first Smart car in person! On my way home from work today there was a cute little one stopped at a traffic light. Yellow with silver stripe up the back, red interior, covertible. Very cute!

:scared1: :scared1: I'm so stupid I thought a guy was singing it until Jon told me it was a girl. And it sounds like a girl, I just figured it was a boy :lmao:

Thinking it was a boy puts a whole different spin on it. My friends 6yo son loves to sing along with that song. Its cute!

Gas is actually going down a little here. I think it is around 4.10. I want to book when the kids are out of school but it so much more expensive. I think we will be waiting until 2010 and we'll just take our normal vacations next year, even though all together they probably add up to the same cost. I really don't want to take the kids out every year. I hope there is a good itinerary.

We always have better than average gas prices here. (lower gas taxes). Right here at my house it is $3.69 and in Blackburg today it was $3.49!:goodvibes (I can not believe that I think those are great prices!!)

We have a guy who lives down the street who owns a landscape company. He got a RED Smart car convertable about the same time ian got his. It is so cute.

Well it was gone for a while and it showed back up a few days ago. It is now a PIECE OF ART!! He had it painted with a lawn and lawn mower....I know it sounds strange...but it is just beautiful!!

Then, today, I saw another painted one today....it was FLOWER POWER like from the 60's, so very cute!!

I will take a picture soon and post it here...just don't want him to see me taking a picture of his car!!

Holly, I was wondering that too   Gaylean :confused3
Of course, with kids you never know. I still remember years ago when my husband called me at work to say he was taking my son to emergency:eek: Seems he had told our son (two at the time) that he couldn't leave the table till his food was all gone. So, when his dad wasn't looking, my son stuck all his little cut up pieces of meat up his nose! Of course his sister just watched with amusement and let him

We had originally wanted a convertible (Cabriolet) but instead we have our little orphan.
