OK, I've slacked off too long. I watched Freaky Friday on ABC, now am watching Dateline on CBS, but I need to clean the living room still. And kitchen. And need to start another load of laundry.

Glad Jackie and Cheri were not seriously hurt.

Escrow has been very stressful. We just submitted the 7th addendum (none of the first 6 were accepted by both parties) after we told our realtor to just submit a termination and that we would petition to keep his $20,000 earnest money. The original contract says it will close next Monday and we have done everything we have needed to do to make that happen. Since no addendums have been acceptable, the original contract is all we have. I think that got his attention and maybe he will be reasonable and get this closed. We will see what he does today, then we will know if we retire July 31 or if we work a bit longer. We know he really wants the property (and is getting it at a very good price!) since he has put well over $1000 into inspections, soil reports and plans for a remodel and put up the $20,000 in earnest money.

The really bad thing about all this is that it has cut into my DIS time!

 Best wishes!!

Angie:

Sorry to hear this. Stay strong and if it's meant it will be.

I feel some forebodding here for me. I got the call from our realtor with a counter. It still is sucky. But I really just want the house out of my frame of reference so I've offered another counter. My agent tells me that the buyers agent is ignorant about the spetic and that she calls him every hour. Not a good sign. I suspect after they inspect they will come back asking for more money off to which I will say "GO JUMP IN THE LAKE" hahahahaha that was funny, the house is on a lake and that felt good to say...

If we get in contract we will make a trip up there and perhaps spread dad's ashes on the lake. I haven't been ready yet for this, but now it's here and we can do it feel ok. I guess this is why our August is not planned past the kids being in camp for that first week.

I haven't talked to my mom about the offers yet, just don't want to get into it with her, since I know it will trigger phone call after phone call with the same questions over and over again.

ok, gotta get some work done today, sorry to ramble & thanks for listening.

 Best wishes!!

We have a huge new idea for our trip next May. Partly John's idea so I am so pleased he is taking more interest because of that.

Our West coast trip has now become East coast!

Plans at the moment, nothing booked as yet.

Fly to Orlando for 2 weeks of fun.
Set off on almost 3 weeks of travelling up the East coast to NY.
Few days in NY.
Sail home on the Queen Mary 2!!

Though it doesn't quite go over our 40th wedding anniversary we can celebrate it on the QM2 if it is within 60 days.

Some thoughts at the moment for places to visit, where we will stay for 2-4 nights.

St Augustine
Savannah
Charleston
Disney Hilton Head
?
?
? all depends on which direction we go up from Hilton Head
Blue Ridge Parkway
Washington DC
?
? Depending on route
New York

Help from East Coast folk will be appreciated.

We should be booking crossings in about 2 weeks.

We spent last Friday in St Augustine and loved it!! Lots to do there.

Not sure how interested in US history you are but Phila has a lot to do/see - Liberty Bell, Ben Franklin's House, etc. Not to mention the art gallery where Rocky ran up the steps...

Marilyn and Michelle, looking at our countdowns I think we will all be at WDW at the same time in December. Are you going to Mousefest?

Ann

We will be there at Mousefest and I know LisaG is too. Monica is always there and perhaps Connie can be too. Cherie is at WDW just befoe the Mousefest cruise and is going on the Mousefest cruise but won't be back after. Michelle, I am not sure when she goes home.

We arrive on 29th November and Michelle on 30th. We must all try and meet up.

Yep we'll be there!! We're staying at Coronado Springs.

Are you using the neck cooler Michelle and her mother made for Fish Extender gifts? (Oh, yes, Planky too.....)

I love the one I made from her pattern! Also, I am finding my endurance is much better when I drink Gatorade on hot days. :yay:

Jan :earsgirl:

I highly suggest them... I wonder why????

only booked by their father and kids. Remember, I'm a Sweet Suite kinda girl;)

I do believe I saw two balls of nets up there...one a bedroom and the other the salon with a pull out bed...

I'm feeling bad for little Miss What'shername on your counter. What is her name again?

Mrs B...

yes Ms Bennett, don't lay a hand on her :furious:

THE QUEEN HAS SPOKEN... & I concur!!!! :hippie:

Yep we'll be there!! We're staying at Coronado Springs.

More the merrier!!!

OK... Some old guy just tried picking up my mother when we went for ice cream at Jumpin Jacks!!!!! And that...<<<<< is how I feel!!!!!

I'm spent the better part of the day with my scrapbooking group - last time :sad2:

Darrell cleaned out the plastic container cabinet in kitchen. Managed to match up almost everything! found a few things way in the back we've never seen before too :scared1:

We've planned what to do with my scrapbook table - plastic tubs. I can sort, weed thru and organize later  (like that will ever happen)

I said that about all my stitching stuff... which is sitting in boxes in the garage...

Oh, I give up. I have to get to bed. This messy house would take a whole week to straighten out. Goodnight all!

Night Holly... Have a good one... I'm a week behind on everything because of my body hating me... so you're at least ahead of me!!!! :rotfl:

My friend Jimmy just replied to my email about meeting the Magic in Norfolk for me when she goes into dry dock...

His Reply....

"ARE YOU ON DRUGS WOMAN?????"

To which I had to explain... yes... I am!!!! :lmao:

Probably , I don't know. Didn't go, wanted to get home to mow instead, because the sky looked ominous. I only did the back yard yesterday and then was weeding, trying to find my rosebush that somehow got swallowed by a forest. ;) Made good progress, but had to stop because I filled a whole yard bag and didn't have any more...have to buy more today.

This morning I mowed my front yard, weedwhacked, and even mowed the front yard of the empty house next door! :)

Taking a lunch/DIS break and will then start cleaning the house. Laundry too.

WOW! Good for you ::yes::

THAT'S MY MOTHER!!!

:rolleyes1

my mom made some funn comment about going on a date or something like that the other day. I know she wouldn't do it or want to do it. Just my dad in her heart. :lovestruc

OK, so this is REALLLLLY crazy. My internet is working again. The AT&T guy wasn't supposed to come until Wednesday, but I'm wondering if he snuck in and did something to the line outside? I was moving a bunch of stuff from room to room, and in the process, accidentally dropped my wireless modem or router or whatever this little box is that AT&T gave me. I dropped it onto my computer. Then I plugged everything in so I could turn everything on and make sure it works. Well, my internet is back! Not sure what that's about, but I called AT&T and told them it's working again and that the on and off crap is frustrating. They gave me a $20 credit that should show up on my bill and are sending me a voucher in the mail for another $20 credit for the bill after that. OK....I'm happy now! :goodvibes

:cool1: WHAOO!! :cool1:

You fixed it by dropping it? Why didn't I think of that when ours didn't work :confused3

This thread is wonderful--we are learning how to get over kidney stones and fix internet connections. Amazing.

Now if we could get some real estate to see and a motorhome--We'd all be good.

Sitting at a hospital in Van Nuys.

My dad had back surgery on Wednesday and the procedure went well.

However, something is not right and dad is not good. His Parkinson's makes things worse.

The Panama trip was a wonderful trip for us and though we didn't actually meet many of you onboard (we did meet quite a few people!) coming back here and reading brings back fond memories of all the planning and sharing everyone did for over a year prior to the trip.

Thank you for taking my mind off things I don't have a say in.
