Hi Lisa! :goodvibes I remember you said you guys aren't doing much, so you might pop in here a few times too. :yay:

I have to work tomorrow but after that no big plans.

I am cooking on Christmas - though I guess "heating things up" might be a better description. And we are planning to see Valkyrie on Christmas too. That's it our plan for the four days. I have a feeling I'll be by here a lot :thumbsup2

Oh, and by the way, Hi Monica! :goodvibes I'm glad you found something good to watch. The only time I miss having cable is at Christmas time because of all the Christmas movies. :guilty: Sure, I can go rent, but would rather be able to channel flip.

Well, I'm glad you'll be here a lot, I will be too! Except for Sunday. We're tentatively planning on going out of town to my dad's, depending on the weather. I hear Tyler has a huge pile of presents there from the whole family. I talked on the phone to my brother who's up from Tennessee and he said there's a little something for me too. Even though the adults don't buy for each other, he ALWAYS gets gifts for every single person. He says he likes to because he's able to. He say she and his wife have a hard time buying gifts for each other because they're spoiled and have everything, so they enjoy buying for others instead. :thumbsup2

Night all! I can' believe I have to work tomorrow and Darrell doesn't - not fair. (I'm stamping my feet now in case you can't tell)

I really don't need to watch this on TV - I own the DVD plus I think I know it all by heart.....but it is a feel good :lovestruc movie. Course I do HATE the commercials!

Oh yeah, I'm working tomorrow too. We close at noon, but if there's enough work from Mr. Energizer Bunny lawyer, I'll work until 5 or 6 because our office manager told me I can. :thumbsup2 Then I go straight from work to pick Tyler up from his dad's. The office is closed on Friday too, but I'll work that too if there's enough work. Saturday too! :goodvibes

Goodnight Lisa! I hope the workday goes by quickly for you!

Holly - do you & Tyler's dad treat this week (and next) as "normal" weeks (w/ the normal days at your house and his) or did you guys need to tweak things?

I'm signing off for the night....will check in w/ everyone in the morning.
XOXOXOXO

Hi everyone . . . sorry I have not checked in for quite awhile. I am glad to see you are still out here, keeping in touch.

Right after dad passed away, my brother came home, we had enormous challenges with his "bag", until finally he had surgery on December 3rd to re-connect his colon and digestive system. He is recovering well, and everything is working, but he had a huge incision, and is still in lots of pain. He is once again in a transitional care facility for physical therapy and healing. He will not be able to come home for Christmas.

We will be at WDW over MLK weekend and the following week. Once again, we REALLY need the vacation! (doesn't everyone?) Since our cruise, I have had only one week of vacation, and since Thanksgiving, I have only had two days off work - one of them being the day of his surgery.

I miss talking to you all, and hope you are all well and happy. We don't have everyone's address to send you all a card, so here is a virtual version of our Christmas Card.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

John - It's good to hear from you. I miss our morning "hello" next to the pool, which must seem like a long time ago.

Well, we try to stick with the normal schedule for Tyler (go to his dad's Wed evening until Saturday evening), but if a holiday falls in the middle of those days, he just comes back here and loses one of those days with his dad, and vice versa.

This time it's tricky though because day care is closed tomorrow and also New Year's Eve, but since his dad is supposed to have Tyler Christmas Eve this year (since I get Christmas Day), in addition to it being his normal Wednesday with him, he's just taking that day off work. That way they get extra time together, even though they're losing their normal Thursday together this week. So instead of me waking Tyler up early just to drop him at his dad's before work tomorrow, I just took him over there tonight so he can sleep in tomorrow.

So his dad said I can just pick Tyler up right after work tomorrow, even though his dad is entitled to have him until 8pm on his holidays. Then I'll have to take him back to his dad's late on Christmas Day because that's a Thursday, which is his dad's normal day. He asked me when I thought I'd bring him back and I just randomly picked 6pm, thinking I'd have time to clean up and have some quiet time alone to relax. Then he'll stay at his dad's until Saturday at 5 like normal.

Then next week, his dad gets New Year's Day this year (I have no idea why they count that, does anybody really do anything to celebrate New Year's Day?), and since it falls on Thursday, one of his normal days, nothing will change with the schedule, except that I'll probably take Tyler over there Tuesday night again so he can sleep in Wednesday because day care is closed that day and his dad is taking the day off to stay with him so I don't have to miss work.

We do have trouble with holidays because it throws Tyler off. I spend lots of time preparing him, usually a week (or even longer) before a holiday, I start telling how the days with each of us will be different. Then I keep reminding him, and he'll ask me too. And again today I told him what the plan is. I told him "I know this will be a confusing week for you, but your dad and I will let you know each morning what the plan is, and at bedtime will remind you of what's going on the next day". And we both do.

He's acting goofy today because he's off schedule. Usually he goes to his dad's after his 2nd day of karate each week but he didn't have karate, so he was just out of sorts. Some of his anxiety-related habits appeared yesterday, but I attribute that to the change in routine. Today he was extremely anxious, to the point where he was driving me nuts! :rotfl2: Not misbehaving, just doing weird things. ;)

I'm signing off for the night....will check in w/ everyone in the morning.
XOXOXOXO
Sorry I missed saying goodnight Monica! I was on the phone for an hour with my mom. She's coming to my house on Christmas with my aunt. Tyler's SO excited!

John, I'm sorry to hear the latest with your brother, and I hope he recovers quickly. You certainly do need a vacation, and I hope time goes quickly for you until your vacation!
