Deb...

TAKE PICTURES!!!!

BTW... when are you coming home??? in between the snowflakes?

Sorry, forgot to answer the question.....duh......we're coming home on Saturday. The kid told us tonight on the phone that we're getting at least 4 inches of snow by morning. I hope the don't cancel shool for Tom. We'll see.

I saw dolphins out in the ocean today. I love when that happens. I think I saw an alligator in the swamps today too. Cool!

We saw Tristan today for family day....OMGosh has he grown up. It's amazing. He got really skinny too and all he wanted to do was eat food and junk. His mom brought him a cooler full of foods that he requested. I'll post some pictures of all of us today in a bit.

More good news today. Tom had his interview at the mall and got the job. We're so happy for him and very proud too.

For dinner we went to The Lady and Sons in Savannah, GA....Paula Dean's place. It was sooooooooo good. Me, John and DNephew Casey went. We all had the buffet which is down home southern cooking.....so good.

Tomorrow is the graduation then we get to hang out the rest of the day with Tristan and all the family people. It's going to be great!

Glad to hear that it's going good... bet you didn't imagine Tristan all grown up, now did you?

Paula's place sounds yummy... I want to go to one of Mario's places and just die happy...

Hello Everybody

I will catch up your news tom...

here is the poem of Scottish Christmas Fairy :thumbsup2

SCOTTISH CHRISTMAS FAIRY

I am a little fairy
On tap o' the Christmas Tree
It's no' a job I fancy
Well how would you like tae be me

A tarted up wi' tinsel
It's enough to mak ye boak
An a couple o' jaggy branches
Rammed up the back o' your frock
An' these wee lights a'roon me
I canny get my sleep
An' there's the yearly visit
Fae Santa - Big fat creep!

On Christmas Day I'm stuck up here
While you're a' wirin' in
An' naebody says 'Hey you up there
Could you go a slug o' gin?

It's nae joke bein' a fairy
The joab's beyond belief
You've got to go roon' the wean's beds
An' lift their rotten teeth

But o' a' the joabs a fairy gets
An' I've mentioned only some
The very worst is sitting up a tree
Wi' pine needles up yir bum

When a' the fairies meet again
By the light of' the silvery moon
Ye can tell the Christmas fairies
They're the wans that canna sit doon

The Christmas tree's a bonny sight
As the firelight softly flickers
But think o' me I'm stuck up here
Wi' needles in my knickers
:rotfl2: Oh Deborah, that's so cute! I've never heard of it before, so I'm glad you posted it! Funny!

I am back home.

No snow yet. The warning now starts for 7PM tonight.

We've decided to stay in and not go shopping. We'll go Saturday morning, and seriously, if need be, we have a supermarket only about 6 blocks away. We tend to go north to Evanston to a larger and better supplied supermarket. We also stop at the "Greek" produce store.

I can't believe how relaxed I am lately. If I got anymore relaxed I'd be comatose.

Nan!

I thought of you when I left work. My office is above a commuter station, so of course it's very busy. You and Molly will be very pleased to know that there was virtually a sea of red American Girl shopping bags.

Given the economy, it looks like American Girl isn't hurting.

Holly

I got another email from M&M's (why am I on their mailing list) and I thought of you and Tyler.

Oh my gosh, those are so cute! If he wasn't already getting a pile of firefighter stuff, I'd probably see if I could hurry up and order those. ;) I'm still going to show them to him of course. Very cool!

Here's Paula Dean's restaurant.

He literally went in as a boy and came out as a man. He loves it. He's not going to be doing air traffic controller like we had thought. He's going to be plotting flight paths. Pretty cool. He's happy about it.

Paula's place sounds yummy... I want to go to one of Mario's places and just die happy...

Oh me too.....but I'm so glad we got to go to Paula's. It was so awesome.

Yea, but if we get 4 inches, then further north in Mt. Pocono they'll get 14 inches and those are some rough mountain roads that our school busses drive on. They are very careful about closing the school.

Great pictures Deb! :goodvibes

Marilyn: I hope you manage to get some sleep soon!

I just finished wrapping all of Tyler's presents, except the ones yet to be delivered. I have 3 more deliveries coming to work soon. The bad thing is that I had forgotten about presents I had hiding in my bedroom closet, and I just kept ordering things. Oops! He's getting way more than I'd planned. OH well, he'll just have to clear out even more old stuff. :thumbsup2 And how fun to have tons of new stuff. I don't buy him anything throughout the year, so he only gets new things for birthday and Christmas, so he'll be very excited!

I'm going to try not to ignore my alarm in the morning since I expect to have lots of shoveling before I leave for work. :headache: It will be worse after work though, because now it's predicted to start at 1am and get worse after 10am. I hate coming home to get stuck in my driveway. I did that last winter one time. Oh well, like I said before, the neighborhood will all be shoveling around the same time after work, so we can share the misery. :thumbsup2

Goodnight all! :cloud9:

Oh, by the way Deb, congrats to Tom for getting the job! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Thank you so much Holly. He was so excited, he called us right away. It was a very good day today for everyone.

I'm so happy that Tyler has accepted his new school. I can't wait to see his new school pictures.

Ian- Normally my house is all decorated for Christmas but this year I didn’t put them all up. This is my favorite holiday and every year my tree almost doesn’t fit in the house. I will probably get nowhere with upper management as they think I should work when they tell me. They have pushed me around for so long I am tired of it.
Deb and Michelle-I will definatly tell where Matt takes me. I can't wait!
We took my stepdad shopping and it was fun. He just followed me around and bought what my mom told me she wanted. I was surprised how nice people were ar the mall, opening doors for us and helping out. I also wrapped his gifts for him, which was fun too!
I am really tired and I am going shopping again tomorrow at the outlets. My BFF needs to finish shopping and invited me along since the outlets are an hour away and I LOVE to shop.

Got a flyswatter? I have a strong urge to smack that little tumbling twerp.

 I'd like to introduce her to a new friend:

You should be here about 6 am... it's the symphony of snow blowers... :rotfl:

Jill... glad you had a good time with your Stepdad... I'm sure he appreciates all of your help - it must make things much easier for him.

Want to do my shopping next year???

Ok...

2 afghans are finished...

Most of my Xmas cards are done...

I took out a mortgage on the house to ship the box to TX and it STILL won't make it there in time for Xmas - first time ever... :sad1:

Some of the cookies are baked... Not sure if any more are going to get done.

The tree is still in the garage - it comes in tomorrow and will settle overnight before I throw whatever I can find at it and see if it sticks... (one year I took the tinsel off with the hand vac...) (darned thing hasn't worked the same since...)

I have to wrap gifts, set up the creche, pack for jersey and shave my legs... (sorry bubba... I know.. TMI...)

Along with that we should have 3, yes count them 3 snow storms this week...

And right now all I want to do is sit down in the middle of the floor and cry. :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

A Christmas Story for people having a bad day:
When four of Santa's elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the Pre-Christmas pressure.

Then Mrs Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more.

When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and were out, Heaven knows where.

Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered.

Frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drank all the cider and hidden the liquor. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw off the end of the broom.

Just then the doorbell rang, and irritated Santa marched to the door, yanked it open, and there stood a little angel with a great big Christmas tree.
The angel said very cheerfully, 'Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn't this a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?'

And so began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.

A burglar gets into a cottage in the dead of night. He's in the living room and he's thinking to himself, "Mmm, I'll have that telly, dvd player, oh,.. and I'll have those silver candlesticks..."
Suddenly a voice shouts out: "I can see you, and Jesus can see you!"
The burglar nearly jumps out of his skin and looks round to see if there's anyone else in the room. All he sees is a parrot on a perch.
He says to the parrot, after catching his breath, "Was that you?" and the parrot says, "Yeah."
The burglar says, "So you're a talking parrot then?"
The parrot replies, "I am".
"Phew, you nearly did for me there. What's your name?"
"Archibald," the parrot says.
"Archibald?" laughs the burglar, "That's a funny name for a parrot isn't it?!"
"Not as funny as that Rottweiler over there called Jesus!"
