Holly... there's gonna be so much Camo there that you're not going to be able to SEE Tyler!!! :rotfl:

Glad to hear they are making the transition a good one... :thumbsup2

Wouldn't it be funny to pretend you could not see Tyler when he has on camo stuff? Or that all you can see is a floating head? :rotfl2:

::yes:: I think urban camo should look like bricks. I once found a t-shirt with a brick design and saved the picture for sharing at times like this, but it is trapped in the hard drive that crashed and a google search did not lead me to it. :sad2:

Can you tell I am home today catching up? :woohoo:

This is a CHICAGO thing. When we moved to northwest Indiana it was AMAZING how many people, young and old, thought that EVERYONE in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD knew about this little clip and another about some insane elves :rotfl:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NT5Ohgl7eTM&feature=related

They also had a Bozo the clown who played a game called Bozo's buckets.....
:scared: very weird :scared1:

Early 50s TV in Chicago :rolleyes1 be scared  be very scared :scared1:

Then, of course, there is the normal upbringing the rest of us had who did not live in the Chicago metro area...... :snooty:

just joking :thumbsup2

but the oddest part is that EVERYONE thought that EVERYONE IN THE WHOLE WORLD knew this stuff...... :sad2: and if we tried to tell them that it was local Chicago programming they honestly thought we were daft.

I didn't know about Suzy Snowflake, but I LOVED the Bozo show! My friends and I used to play our own version of the bucket game. Wasn't it called the "Grand Prize Game" or something like that?

Oh, some good news from yesterday. The day before yesterday, the 1st grade teacher invited Tyler to join the class for hot chocolate and candy canes and a movie yesterday. Apparently the class earned a reward and that's what they chose, so she invited him too. He was so excited, and he told me afterwards yesterday that he "didn't even do anything bad". His teacher told his dad and I that he did indeed keep his hands to himself with no problems. :thumbsup2

:santa: YAY TYLER!!:santa:

.

Does he wear camo things to school on the days he goes to Dad's at night or only regular clothes those days since Dad and S-mom don't like camo?

(A friend of mine lost clothes she bought her sons when they wore them to Dad's house because he and S-mom didn't like them and pitched them out.)

He has a little bit of camo at his dad's, but they don't often let him pick out his own clothes when shopping, they buy for him. I've been letting him pick his clothes both when shopping and to get dressed each morning since he was 2 because it was so fun for him. :thumbsup2

We DO joke about this, all the time! :rotfl2: He'll also put a camo hat on and ask, "Can you see me now?" ;)

Why do you suppose me???:confused3 How come I can't just be one of the gang??? ok nevermind, don't answer that ;)

We had mini Xmas here last night. Paul's parents left for Jackson Hole, WY this morning so they dropped off gifts for the kiddos. Sadly, grandma is out of touch with Molly so the coat that she bought her (in a childs size) doesn't fit her.:sad2: No matter what I tell MIL she just doesn't get it. Since Molly is 11 a size 14 will fit right :rolleyes1 We stripped the liner out and she crammed herself into it. We'll be coat shopping soon, maybe on our trip, any good coats in Florida :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Other than that, it was a good night. We gave Molly her iPod so she could make a playlist for our trip. She did make it for me, but only song titles on it, so I have to wait until she comes home to work on it for her. She is really excited to have it. It was fun to see her so happy.

Today I pack. I have most of the kids stuff on the couch in piles. I need to get moving on mine. Kinda hard to pack up cool weather clothes when it's so cold here. We have been in the 40's which is really cool for us :scared1:

Of course my silly son still wants to wear shorts and no socks to school

Oh well, he is Norweigan by decent....

What should I make for dinner tonight?? Ideas anyone???

You could not take the coat back to the store and exchange it for a larger size? :confused3

Would Grandma "get" it if you tell her that the sizing is based on oriental people since all the clothes are made over there so she has to buy something 3 or 4 sizes too large since American kids at age 11 are as big as orientals at 14?

I felt so bad a while ago. I had to send our courrier out on a couple errands. Then when he came back, the look on his face was pure relief at making it back. Then when I told him I had something else for him, his look turned to panic! So I told him it can wait until Monday, but the other 2 couldn't.

I'm really surprised the pizza place delivered.

A mall is closed now.

It is indeed a Chicago thing. I grew up in NYC and I had never heard of Susie Snowflake, but here in Chicago, you mention it to people and they're off ... singing

Well, I hope they have let you go home by now!!

A Christmas Story for people having a bad day:

And so began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.

good one :thumbsup2

A burglar gets into a cottage in the dead of night.
"Not as funny as that Rottweiler over there called Jesus!"

another one

I wish should woulg get it, she has been told Molly's sizes for years and never got it. Unfortunately the jacket was mail ordered and Grandma has no return receipts and she left for WY yesterday. Worst case we will donate it. MIL did give me a gift card to Macy's (Thank heavens she doesn't guess my size  ) so Molly and I will buy her a new coat with that card :thumbsup2 I'm just sad that Grandma doesn't understand the self esteem issue of receiving a clothing gift that never fits. It's like she is telling Molly you're too big :sad2:

I wish I were safe at home. Somebody did go run an errand at lunch and she got stuck on a main road twice and luckily, some nice people stopped and pushed her out. And the snow keeps coming, so I can't imagine the ride home. I don't have my cell phone with me because the battery died yesterday and I couldn't find my cord to plug it in and recharge it, so I certainly hope I don't get stuck. :guilty:

If you have any available time and can steal yourself away from Sophia, would you like to meet me and John for dinner on the Saturday after Christmas at Applebee's on Airport Road? Or pick another time and place that might be better for you. We're flexible. We would love to meet you and Tom for a mini-dismeet. I'll PM you our cell phone numbers and you can call when you're in town and know more about how your schedule looks.

I'll take your number. I had actually thought of Jack Creek since I know you like that as do we.

Where did you live in that area, when and how long?

Ok...

2 afghans are finished...

Most of my Xmas cards are done...

I took out a mortgage on the house to ship the box to TX and it STILL won't make it there in time for Xmas - first time ever... :sad1:

Some of the cookies are baked... Not sure if any more are going to get done.

The tree is still in the garage - it comes in tomorrow and will settle overnight before I throw whatever I can find at it and see if it sticks... (one year I took the tinsel off with the hand vac...) (darned thing hasn't worked the same since...)

I have to wrap gifts, set up the creche, pack for jersey and shave my legs... (sorry bubba... I know.. TMI...)

Along with that we should have 3, yes count them 3 snow storms this week...

And right now all I want to do is sit down in the middle of the floor and cry. :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Sorry about the hand vac--I am sure it seemed like a good idea at the time to use it to remove tinsel.

 :grouphug: :grouphug:
:grouphug: MICHELLE :grouphug:
 :grouphug: :grouphug:
if we were there, we would sit on the floor with you, hug you and cry too.

Jan, I had no idea you knew the area. Soooooo funny......John said Jack Creek and I said, no because we don't know if they like the food and they won't know the area and Jack Creek is harder to find.....bla bla bla. That is just so funny that you do know the area and you like Jack Creek too. Let's go there then! Yeah!

We lived in the Spring Garden townhouse apartments 14 years ago and stayed there for four years. We had one with a basement so we had 3 levels in the apartment and all of us lived there.....me, John, the kid, Sandi, Tom and Kris. The grands were only 2 and 3 years old at the time. The early days living in PA. Then we moved into an apartment in an old building across the street from Morovian College. Beautiful area. We loved it there and it was just me and John and the kid living there. Sandi and the boys lived in Bath at that time. Then nine years ago we moved into our house 30 miles north in Saylorsburg. Sandi and the boys moved in there with us and me and John and the kid. We were around the corner from my mom's house in the same town. Things work out for a reason. When looking for a house, I said any town but Saylorsburg because I don't want to run into my mother in the local supermarket. After all is said and done, it was a blessing that we could be so close to her in her late life years.:cloud9:

Jan, PM sent.

Holly, stay safe and be careful.

Michelle, so many hugs.

Marilyn, what a fantastic journey you just had.

Ian, watch that ice and Sukie on it.

Nan, what a shame about the dress and even more so the message it sends to Molly. Tell her she's beautiful and she's perfect and that it's her grandmother that's off her rocker!

Deborah, hahahahaha thanks for the chuckles.

Jill, you're such a trooper being there for everyone. I hope all your Christmas wishes come true.

GayGay and V and Bubba we miss you.

Angie, enjoy DL and have a very special Christmas this year.

Shannon, is it done yet??? Hopefully you will have your kitchen finished before Christmas. It sure is beautiful. You guys did a great job.

Lisa, YEAH for Daniel. So good to have him back home again.

Connie, so happy that Patrick is doing so much better. Enjoy the Wilderness Lodge.

Monica, Cheri and Jackie, are you done with all of your shopping and preparations for hohoho yet?

I grew up in upstate NY. When Bozo :clown: was big, I was in High School and the newscaster who played our Bozo was the father of a good friend of mine. Kids in school called her Bozo which I thought was stupid, unnecessary and mean.

We did not watch that show. It was for kids, so I have no idea how they did the show or if they had that game but I never heard of it until I got to Valparaiso. Then when I saw clips of their show the Bozo looked wrong too because he was not my friend's Dad. In Chicago they apparently called the game BOZO'S BUCKETS and it became a staple at Birthday parties and Fun Fairs.

When I tried to explain to people that TV was all local back when they were kids and that if another city had Bozo it was not the same guy in the suit they thought I was daft. :rolleyes1
