Hello everyone. I'm here. I'm so tired though. Saturday night we went to an adult only Christmas party and we didn't get home until after 3:00 am. We woke up to go get the kids so I slept the day away. Then I couldn't get to sleep last night. I have a feeling my body has my days and nights mixed up.

We are hoping to get our tree up in the next few days so that we can actually enjoy it. We have something going on every weekend until the first of the year. This weekend we are going to Newport Beach for a friend's birthday party. This is the place I described in detail last year. We went for Spring Break. We are going early so we can eat breakfast at a great place that has schooners of mimosas, hibiscus and bloody marys. Here is the website but there isn't much info on it http://www.muttlynchs.com/. It is a fun place that you can carve your name in the table. We haven't done that in awhile but it is fun to look for your name that you carved over 10 years ago. Plus the reason we went to Newport was because I had a really good friend that lived there. She got into a car accident 8 years ago and now lives in a half way house in Colorado. So it is a bittersweet type of place for us. After that we go bar hopping along the beach http://thedistrictlounge.com/newport/main.html and http://www.blackiesbythesea.com/ and another place called the Beach ball but they didn't have a website. We usually stay at this place the longest because it isn't as crowded as the other places. We play pool and listen to old music. It is probably the funnest day of the year for us. It is like old times and for some reason it is the only place I can go without the kids and I don't worry about them. I guess it's because it is a place we went before we had them :confused3 Anyway, I'm sure I'll have pictures next week :goodvibes

Nan... glad to hear dear turtle is eating again... offer him mac and cheese next time... or chicken soup if he's feeling a bit off...

Holly... GO TO BED!!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
I did go to bed! :) Fairly early too. Right after Desperate Housewives. :goodvibes Very hard time getting up today. We're skipping Tyler's OT appointment today because we're both pooped and just want to get home early so we can both get to bed early. And finish decorating first. He got most of the tree decorated last night, so that helps.

What a busy beaver you are. I'm exhausted just reading. How are the meds doing for you and Tyler? Are they kicking in yet and making things a little better for each of you?
Well, I'm not sure because the problems only happen in class at school and at lunch and on recess, so they've just been keeping him out of those areas so there's no chance of anything bad happening. We'll find out when he starts at the new school and is back in the classroom environment. :scared:

Tonight I really want to try to get some pictures posted. :) Nothing exciting, just some recent fun photos.

So, IAN, will the new WW program allow you to be able to 'compute points' from packaged goods? (As opposed to the old guessing that every 50 calories=one point).

For example, todays lunch: (Chicken Satay with brocolli, carrots and sugar snap peas)

325 Calories
10g fat (2 saturated)
5g fiber

PLease e-mail the spread sheet you made....you have the address.

this equals 7 points

this equals 7 points

Which is what I would have guessed, based on calories and fat grams....but was there some kind of formula relating calories/fat/fiber? AND....some of those calories where from zero point veggies.....

The short answer is, YES.

The above Chicken Satay was 7 points.

You can calculate the points value per serving for ANY packaged food provided you have the calories, grams of fat, and grams of dietary fiber.

I'll send you the 2 day plan I created.

All I did was decide that I was going to work with a target of 24 points a day (everyone's target is different based on a number of factors).

I then went out to the web and looked up SmartOnes and Lean Cuisines and Progresso Soups.

I also figured out how to make meals more filling by adding in salad and veggies (frozen veggies steamed in a microwave in a Ziploc steamer bag).

Another assumption I made is that a can of Progesso soup has 2 servings, but someone would probably just eat the entire can, so I calculated the points based on 2 servings.

I also tried to build in having enough servings of dairy and also built in snacks.

The point of the exercise was to:

- See if I could do a meal plan that involved no cooking (other than microwaving and opening bags, boxes and cans)

- Leverage filling foods to round out meals to make them more satisfying.

It was a sample only, but it's really very doable. The key is doing a bit of planning.

I just emailed you the plan.

(If I were doing this for my meetings, there is no way I could include non-WW foods)

I see you got two independent opinions on the points. Good thing we matched!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Actually, if I were on the program, I'd of convienced myself to call it 6 points because of the brocolli calories. :lmao:

just got the e-mail here at work...thanks!

And you'd be very luck because I'm not your leader .... we'd have to have THE talk.

V - you saw the 2 day plan I put together, right? Did it make sense?
::yes:: I got it and it makes perfect sense. I think I like to cook more of our dinners, but I like the ideas on how to add to the frozen meals. Usually when I'm to tired to cook I will break one out, but just have that alone which of couse is not enough and then I will end up grazing most of the evening cause I did not have a "complete meal".

And I got the points for Jackie with the online tools. Thats how I track/journal my food intake.

Just a quick check-in to say "hi" to everyone! It's so "wonder"ful being here on the ship! We're in a Cat. 5 and the verandah is great! We got off the ship today, decided to do a 2 hr. tour of the island with a cab driver ($20@ for 3 of us). It was very nice and now I feel like I've really seen Nassau and know a little bit about it. The weather was beautiful during the day; of course the sun goes down so early, it was nearly dark by 5:30. I've never been in the Caribbean at any other time than summer, it's nice not to be HOT and sweaty!:cool1: They were playing Xmas carols, Bahamian-style, in all the shops we went to and there are Xmas decorations up. Of course the ship looks beautiful, big tree in the atrium, etc. Time to go see "Toy Story" and then come back and get dressed up for dinner.

I keep expecting to see all of you in the hall, by the pool, at the Cove Cafe, in the WD Theater!!!....:confused3 :confused3

Wish you were here!

Michelle, you crack me up....I'm here laughing while the whole house is quiet and everyone is asleep. Too funny.:lmao: :lmao:

Anything to make you smile Deb... :goodvibes

Good Morning All Carbon Based Life Forms (and Nan)!

Another new week. I feel like I'm sliding into holiday mode.

I did not finish that last performance review yesterday. I realized that there was still more input to come from another manager, so I only got about 70% done with the last review. I need to see if the manager is going to finish giving me her input, so I can finish my guy's review. I want to be done with everything by Thursday.

It was a nice a calm afternoon. I did nothing, other than playing video games on my PS3. One game I'm playing (Little Big Planet) you need other people to complete some of the levels. So, I found people to help me. It was both fun and odd, playing a game with complete strangers.

It's 18F right now, so I just know the bus stop is going to be rather thrilling this morning.

:cold: :cold: :cold: :cold: :cold:5 VERY COLD DEGREES THIS MORNING!!! :cold: :cold: :cold: :cold: :cold:

 I know what you meant, but did you read what you also said?
:rotfl2:

Freud and his slips were very good friends of mine...

Cheri, glad you are having a great time. When you called yesterday, I couldn't hear you at first....just a lot of music and noise. THEN I recoginzed it was "HEY BABY" playing in the background and I knew it was you. :thumbsup2

I received the following, extremely odd email today:

"Hi all,

We are in the south Atlantic about 500 miles from the Falkland Islands! This is very interesting!! Lectures each day on sea birds, geology, nature of the Falklands and Antarctica, etc - very cool. Sea has been calm but now a bit choppy (not so cool).

Tomorrow we will disembark at the Falklands and the next day on Antarctica.

Hope all is well. Really just sending this so that you know that we can access our internet (most of the time).

Love you all,
Mom
"

My mother died in 1995. Now I come to find out that after that she's decided to start taking cruises, and near Antarctica to boot!

Go figure. She never mentioned ocean travel.

My father died in 2003. I wonder if he decided to stay put, or go traveling like my mother.

And no - this was not a fake email. I was a very real email sent to me.

I don't think she knows her kid's email address.

I did reply to the email.

.....spooky.....

I 'hear' from mom sometimes...but neverin an e=mail. :lmao:

Ian... everytime I get upset I yawn... I swear it's my grandmother...

BTW... Is she hosting a Shots party too??? :goodvibes
