....see....Ian's light just went out. This is about the third time he's signed off just when I get on :sad2: Think he's avoiding me??????? HA! I've got his phone number....there's no hiding! :lmao:

.

(Is Jackie gone yet?)

:rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Ian, you nut! They're just so adorable! I want to scoop them both up, toss them in a bag and sneak out your door with them. ;)

I can see Tallulah's evil plan is working. Your will is not your own anymore.

 Deborah! Dublin for NY's sound like fun! (Partying with the Irish always sounds fun to me. :lmao:

I agree!

I don't plan anything for NYE usually. I don't like to be on the road w/ all the crazies. Last year my friend Colette was here, and Will came over and we played cards, laughed & had stuff to drink.

Yeah, but you'll have to call my land line. My cell doesn't work in my house.

(Odd how the waves don't penetrate a house that's nearly 100 years old. But then again it means we don't have to wear our tin foil hats when we're at home.)

I hope your cruise is great! I work Thur. and Sundays except I will be off Christmas week...camping at Fort Wilderness!

Patrick went backto the foot dr. today. He is to keep his walking cast on most of the time for 3 more weeks. He's doing pretty well, and taking a few steps, but the boot's sole is so much thicker than a shoe, so he's really off. '

I hope he'll have fun at Ft. Wilderness anyway, but I doubt he'll be in the pool.

I want him to get into the golf cart, he would love that!

 Any way to build up his other shoe? Even some Dr Sholls insoles in the heel to raise the heel of the other foot and even him out?

Jan :confused3

Here is one of the choices. They are both smiling but it was like 9 am and I don't think I even brushed anyone's hair :scared1: But we are in Panama ;)

Faces are smiling. No one will notice the hair and anyway, it looks fine to me :thumbsup2

GREAT Santa picture Nan! You're lucky Molly agreed to do it at her age. :thumbsup2 Love her dress! :goodvibes

thanks, I like the dress too, we got it for the repo and she is wearing it again for NYE. It's nice to have double duty like that :thumbsup2

Last night, I heard on Chicago public radio, during a local segment that the post office is seeing very different types of letters to Santa this year.

They have about 12,000 letters downtown, and the kids are predominantly not asking for big stuff, but necessities like clothing. Letters about parents out of work, etc.

I learned that you can go down to the main post office, browse through the letters, and choose one/s that you will can respond to the child's wish.

My company is right near the main post office. I think on Monday, I'm going to propose to some people I know at work that we consider playing Santa. It might be nice to give some kids something to believe in.

I used to organize toy drives every year at my previous company, not the usual Toys for Tots, but more overlooked areas.

Once I collected toys for terminally ill children in the county hospital. Another year it was for children in a shelter who were victims of domestic violence. I guess I go sort of fringe, and areas of charity that might make some people uncomfortable.

Frankly, I myself have zero emotional feeling for Christmas. None at all. Zippo. It is really something that happens around me, in which I don't participate. It never meant absolutely nothing to me when I was a child, and means nothing to me as an adult.

But, just because it means nothing to me it doesn't mean it means nothing to kids.

It breaks my heart that there are kids who do desperately want Christmas to come to where they're staying and for Santa to remember them.

Kids should be remembered.

I was really moved by the piece on the radio. I'm still thinking about it. I'll call the post office or the radio station on Monday.

Ian, it is nice of you to take on this kind of task. I like the fringe ideas too, that's what I try to steer my scouts towards. I was watching on the news that the toy drives are really down low here too based on the unemployment.

I read up on the turtle last night, I think it is the dirty tank and it's getting cleaned now as I type, so all should be well.

I'm going to pack today wish me luck :thumbsup2 If I'm feeling good about what we get done we might head to the boardwalk, the kids passes end at the year end, so may as well get one last fun run in:woohoo:

....G... even though I don't think I quoted them all I love all the pics!!!

I think the family one is very nice... but the kids and Acapulco is great... I just wish we could have stopped next to a "Welcome to Panama" sign for you to make everyone jealous with...

& I think the one with Bubba... might make John's family wonder when his beard went gray... ;) ......

And when he shaved his head.....
.

I think it's gotten more crowded as the week has gone on. Wed. was nice, today at DHS the lines for rides were pretty long. I couldn't get a fast pass for Toy Story (they were all out), but I got to do everything I wanted to do. I used the single rider line for RRC and fast pass for TOT.

Good for you, Deb!

That I'd like to see!

I like the porthole picture.:goodvibes

Let's see, what else have I missed? New Year's Eve, the last few years I've had dinner with friends but been home by about 10. I'm with Ian, NYE parties, to me, are depressing. I'd rather be home, in bed, sometimes asleep.

Today's report: I really enjoyed DHS! I love the old LA retro look! My mom was born in LA (so was I) and went to Hollywood High School so I have a real fondness for that era there. Every summer, from the time I was
born, my family went to LA/SoCal. beaches for vacation, which always included a trip to DL from the time it opened in 1955. I took lots of pictures! The Osborne Family Xmas lights were a blast! Didn't go to Fantasmic. Really enjoyed the Walt Disney story, Beauty and the Beast show, Little Mermaid show and Rockin' Roller Coaster!:thumbsup2

Tomorrow we're going to check out (not rushing) and go to AK, then to the MCO Hyatt to meet up with my sister, my friend Krystal, and my cousin and her family. They all fly in tomorrow.

Elaine has just let me know that she wants to go to sleep and can't do so if the light is still on!:lmao: Guess I'll sign off.

TTYL!

Glad you are having a good time. Sorry you missed FANTASMIC! It is not the same as at DL.

Have a great, magical PRIZE WON cruise~!

Jan :sail:

I need to see how the dust settles in January once all the medical bills are sorted out.

I totally (Tortally) understand this!

Ok, you by far have the best group of friends out of all of us other than us... Your pictures are sooooo cool and I love your tshirt and those masks are great!!!!

.....I forgot to tell you guys that I got "1st timer" buttons for Cheri & Elaine.....

Very sweet of you!!

Where do you get those? not sure how our plans will work out, but we may be doing some WDW days before the Tortola Cruise and if so, that will be DGD's first trip--she will be 9 months old. It would be fun to "pin" her or to "pin" her backpack carrier.
