more mindless dribble from me. Paul finally had a chance to talk to his boss (she has been out of the country on business for weeks on end) and he is able to take our anniversary off from work. He of course won't get paid, as it's an hourly gig, but since I've prepaid for the room glad that we won't be wasting it. So we are set to have our anniversary weekend at:

Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa

Now to figure out what kind of spa treats to enjoy :woohoo:

Wow, we are on part 8 :upsidedow You guys all must have been very chatty the last few days :)

It is winter here today! Started out raining, but by the time I got off work my car was covered in snow. Sure wish I had worn a winter coat and taken gloves with me this morning, it wasn't supposed to snow until tomorrow. It has been thundering and lightening. It always seems so strange when it does this during a snowstorm! Our city has it's Christmas parade tonight, so I guess the weather is fitting. I would much rather watch a Xmas parade in the snow than in the rain. Actually, I'd rather watch it with the "snow" on mainstreet at MK ;)

Hope everyone is keeping well.

Oooohhh, this place looks lovely Nan. Happy Anniversary :lovestruc When is your anniversary and how many years are you celebrating?

Kathe

Got lots of stuff done. Hair cut, pedicure done, stopped at the dollar store to start gathering supplies for my Christmas stockings for wounded soldiers, had lunch, made some long distance calls, drove through the parking lot of both the super Walmart and Target and did NOT go in.....WAY too crowded. I'll save that shopping for early tomorrow morning, or later tonight. Have a load in the washer and another in the dryer and am thinking about a NAP!

Also feeling good about making a $1,000 visa payment! :thumbsup2

.

Hi Jackie, sounds like you are keeping happy and busy :thumbsup2

12 years and 17 together. I just asked Paul what if anything he wants to do special and he of course has no plans, I think I'll bring along our wedding video to watch. Parts of it have our dear doggie Casey in it and I know that part he'd like to see again. The ceremony 'eh. Catholic Mass, seen one seen 'em all :rotfl2:

Hi guys, well, it looks like the apocolypse here, but I'll bet it is much worse at Gaylean's house. She is right in between all the fires, but not inside them. our sky is dark and smokey:scared1:

Freeways are shut down and evacuations like crazy.

What part of Spain is Monica visiting?

Ian, thanks for the info. I've never heard of the automatic set up. Very smart!!! And your menu looks great.

Nan, I'm using the Maxtor external hard drive. Instead of moving off of my desk the way I had done before I have it set up permanentaly next to me now. Are you guys as dry as us?

Deb, How are your legs.

Shannon, please tell me it is an indoor pool!... it is 94 here today :scared1:

Oh, do THAT one next year (I don't like b-sprouts either).

Ian....how are you going to have room for all your old friends, when all of us crash Thanksgiving next year?
.

Actually, we have plenty of room. We just move the dining table into the living room. We have had as many as 16 people for dinner in the past.

By the way, I hadn't realized there was a new thread. Were you people trying to lose me?

I went out to dinner with my friend Rich tonight. It's been ages since I've been out to dinner.

I had to walk a whole 2 blocks.

We have not seen each other for quite a while. I was trying to explain to him the whole wedding we had in California.

"You met these people on a cruise and they decided to throw you a wedding?"

It was difficult for him to grasp how this came about. It was even more difficult to explain it to him.

By the way, missy, if you and your sister are not at our house next year for Thanksgiving, you are going to be in BIG trouble.

Mine's a Seagate, I've had good luck with one on my desk, so that's what Paul got me again for my laptop for my house play stuff. And yes it is permanately connected, just like an extra drive really.

Sad to hear of how bad the fires are. I hope they can get them under control soon. This has jsut been a terible year for California fires :sad2:

Yes very dry here too. I think we set temp records around here today, might have been up to 80+ All the windows are open and ceiling fans on. It's really way to nice to be Nov. We might head to the beach tomorrow.:woohoo:

I get the same shocked and confused reaction from people when I try to explain this amazing group.

Well all finished here in Winnipeg. Get to fly home tomorrow morning and see the girls (oh yeah and work on the kitchen again!!).

In the old thread Nan made a comment about the pink wigs ("Oh no!") and used the "scared" blue smilie.

Got me an idea from it.

Here is the "pink wig" version (hopefully this works):

I had such a wonderful day today! I'm exhausted and my body is like jello, but I really had a great time, lots of laughs all day. Left home at 7am to go to my friend Libby's house. Libby is the mom of Tyler's best buddy Hunter. The boys have been friends since they were 3 years old in day care. I rode with her to Owosso, a town about 1/2 hour North of Lansing to help her parents move to Lansing. Her dad had already picked up the rental moving truck.

Libby's sister Dani (Tyler's kindergarten teacher last year) and her sister's partner Beth were there, 4 teenagers from the high school where Beth teaches were there to help, Libby & Dani's brother Aaron and his girlfriend Bethany were there, Beth's mom was there, and Pastor Glenn (from our church) and his wife Nancy (who are Bethany's parents). There were also a couple other people, but I never figured out who they were. There may have been more too. Oh, another kindergarten teacher was there too with her daughter. We all filled the moving truck and did the drive back and forth 3 times, plus all the cars were filled each time with the smaller items too. It was pouring rain the whole way, really high winds so the drive on the highway was scary, deer crossing the highway left and right like crazy because today was opening day for hunting and they're all running scared all over. BUT.....we all had lots of laughs and fun the whole day! Doesn't sound possible, but it's such a great family and group of friends. :goodvibes

I wasn't able to help unload the 3rd trip because it was time for me to go pick up Tyler. I took him straight from his dad's back to Libby's parents' new house to help unpack boxes and arrange furniture and stuff. They are renting their daughter Dani's (and Beth's) house because Dani & Beth just bought a new house. The parents were foreclosed upon and the timing worked out right for this arrangement.

After the house was basically all set up with the exception of non-essential items which we just kept in boxes in the garage, Pastor Glenn wanted to treat EVERYBODY to dinner! So we all headed out to eat and had a wonderful meal with lots of laughs. Then Dani (Tyler's former teacher) had us follow her back to her and Beth's new house to give us a tour. VERY NICE. You walk out her back door onto a really nice, big deck, big enough to have a great party on it, there's a tiny lake back there that you can fish in or ride in their paddle-boat, and you walk down a few stairs to a small strip of sandy beach. Tyler was so thrilled to see a little beach right in her back yard, and I suspect he'll be a regular visitor next summer. ;) We hung out there until about 9pm and of course Tyler fell asleep on the way home.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Ken, I love it! Too funny!

:rotfl2: My mom has officially gone nuts. I just spent an hour on the phone with my her. She was recently in Miami for a couple weeks dog-sitting for her uncle and his partner while they went to Brazil, she came home for one week and left for Chicago on Thursday and just got home tonight. (That explains why she wasn't answering her phone at home. ;) ) Well, she went there with 2 friends for a shopping trip and the hotel they were staying at had a tattoo convention going on. She paid $500 to get the eyeliner tattooing done! :scared: She never planned on this, it was just one of those "I'll do it if you do it" things between friends. :lmao: One of her friends was curious, so they asked questions, then my mom told her friend "I'll do it if you do", fully confident that her ultra conservative friend would never do that. WRONG! Her friend said, "Deal!" Neither thought the other would go through with it, and neither really wanted to. That's just CRAZY! She used to have long black straight hair. Well, she also had it chopped off and died PURPLE!
