OK, Tyler's going to try really hard today to stay at school all day. On the way to school, he asked if he can have a reward if he has a good day. I told him of course! He asked if he can pick what we have for supper as his reward, and more specifically told me he'd like to eat out somewhere. I told him absolutely, if that will help him have a good day! :) So he's going to try hard!

Well, we're going to have our first blast of bad winter road conditions today. So far we haven't had more than a dusting of snow, not even enough to make a snowball and it melts the next day. Today the weather report on the way to work said by this afternoon the driving conditions will be dangerous. Freezing rain will come first and then it will turn to snow which will cover the frozen roads. Budget cuts in the State have affected snow plows and salt trucks, so we can't rely on them this year we've been told. Yikes!

Well, so much for my excitement about this week being my very first time getting paid for holidays off. Because I've not been able to be here my full-time hours, they can't justify paying me for holidays. :headache: So in addition to losing most of a day last week for picking Tyler up, I will also lose 2 days of holiday pay this week, and both of those weeks are on the same paycheck.

Hello. Did everyone miss me? Saturday we went to a science museum with the girl scouts and then we hung out with a few of the girl scout families Saturday night. Yesterday we went to Jon's parents house to have Thanksgiving.

There is nothing major to tell except the science museum was fun. They had a room dedicated to drugs and what your brain is like on drugs and I thought it would be very interesting but we decided to leave after we discovered the room that was called "How to make a methamphetamine lab out of a hotel room" I think we might need a permission slip for that one. They did have a 3-D movie and it was the most 3-D movie I have ever seen. There wasn't stuff flying at you every once in awhile it was all the time. Fish would just swim by your head. It was really cool. If anyone is ever in LA it is a must see.

I'm so sorry Holly. That is adding insult to injury.

I did indeed miss you. Glad you had a good weekend and an interesting trip to the Science Museum. Hope your Thanksgiving dinner went well too.:headache:

So sorry

Poor Patrick. Poor Mommy. Poor Daddy.

Can you gete Visiting Nurses or some agency to help with Patrick's care? :confused3
.

Thanks, yes, we could but it would hardly justify to have someone come in just to help take him to the bathroom every few hours ( or every 1/2 hour, depending)

Today we went to the Foot and Ankle specialist. He gave him a 'removable cast". I call it a boot. It's a black hard plastic boot with velcro closures. It will help a lot! Patrick was negotiating with the doctor. The doctor wanted Patrick agree to get up and walk down the hall in the boot before he went home. Patrick wasn't too sure about that,so he said, well, maybe but only if my parents can help me!:laughing: that really tickled the doctor. I don't think he's used to having to negotiate his decisions. I told the doctor that Patrick was a good politician, you'd never get a straight answer out of him.

As we were leaving the Doc says to me, " I'd like to meet Pat's brother". I was so surprised, and I asked him why? He said, "His brother's in law school, right? If he's anything like the negotiator that Patrick is, he'll do very well! " :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Anyway, we are fine, at least better now. We got him to move a little on his own, and take a couple of steps here at home, so things will be easier from now on, as he heals, he'll get more mobile again. :flower3:

So sorry you are not sleeping because of the meds that are because of the stone or the other problem!!!

I hadn't noticed you were cranky, just that you weren't around as much. I hope everything settles down for you. Anyway, you have a right to be cranky when in so much pain.

OH, MAN!!! you should have seen us this weekend! Patrick was yelling at us, we were yelling at him, Chuck was yelling at me, I was yelling at Patrick and Chuck. The only quiet times was when we were sleeping!

PAIN can make anybody cranky!!!! LIFE can make anybody cranky!!!!:teacher:

Connie, that certainly is good news! :goodvibes

That sounds more positive Connie.

Love the negotiotion skills Patrick has!!!!

I'm back from our weekend, but all this talk about eggs and stuff makes me want to run out to burger king for a sauage crossiant....be back in a minute to share our weekend and comment on the rest....

Nan, have an excellent weekend away with Paul and enjoy your anniversary celebration! Cheers! May there be much rum involved!

Thanks, just get thru this week and a weekend of relaxing to begin

Nan - have a great anniversary weekend.

Again, thanks. I think I might pull out the wedding video for the kids tonight, should be a good laugh for Willie, he hasn't watched it before and it has our dearly departed Casey dog in lots of it. We snuck her into the Mission Santa Clara (church) for pictures after our ceremony. Not sure many dogs have been there. She snuck in one more time again for our best friends wedding too :scared1: I'll have to scan a pic or too for you all this week, they are a hoot:rolleyes1

His column is available online, but not suitable for polite company.

We aren't polite, we are family. Linkie Please...and pig latin is fine to keep you out of the mods hair with not okay links

We have had a horrible day today! Last night Patrick fell
I was afraid something like this would happen eventually.

I just hope it gets less painful soon, so he can at least stand up!

:hug:Thanks, everybody for the kind words about Patrick. Today was tough, it takes both of us to transfer him from wheelchair to couch to chair to recliner. He can't help AT ALL. Then he goes all stiff and that makes it even worse.
We have to physically force his right knee to bend and then Chuck has to brace his riight foot which lifting him, and I have to guide the backend into the chair! We must look like a circus!:)

He was in such pain all day. Been giving him Tylenol with Codeine, now I am concerned because he wouldn't eat all day. Had a few misses with the urinal too! FUN FUN FUN FUN.... tomorrow he sees the foot specialist. I am just hoping it's only a sprain and it will heal quickly....although it took over 2 months for my stupid jammed toe that I had from kicking Chuck in early October! (didn't kick him on purpose, my foot slipped, I was barefoot and he had on shoes)

Oh Connie, such a rotten thing for Patrick. I hope now he is better and you have all stopped yelling at each other and are back to laughing.

Hi Nan. I'm sorry I hadn't realised your Anniversary trip was this last weekend. I guess I was skimming through that day.

and my brunch sauage crossiant was good. I took the dog with me, she is really happy to ride in the car these days. I think she likes being the only dog in the house. Much like a queen :bride: (well you get the idea)

Our weekend was fabulous. We got to visit with my aunt and uncle and their kids and kid's kids and kid's kid kid...do you follow??? The most beautiful baby Audrey who is just 3 months old visiting from London. She was the baby born on 8-8-08. I'll post some pics later today. Molly is talking about when she can go to London and help her cousin, katie (mama) with the baby. so cute :cutie: While we were on our honeymoon in London I was feeling terrible and crashed into my cousins house with morning sickness with Miss Molly. So now we are full circle ~ 12 years later with my cousin bringing her grandaughter to the US on T-day holiday
