We're waiting with you. Let us know as soon as you know something new. We'll keep praying.

Thanks Deb... :grouphug:

Now here's a couple final pics of the kitchen.
Here's the dining area. The china cabinet, table & chairs were Ken's parent. I didn't think of it when we picked the orange paint colour, but it matches the chair seat :thumbsup2

And here's the nice new sink and counters

And here's an in-progress shot of all the cabinets

Still needs baseboards and trim around the door, but that can wait until after Christmas.:goodvibes :santa:

:worship: :worship: :worship: I think it's come out very nice!!!

Hi Shannon, LOVE the kitchen....how beautiful. Thanks for the long awaited pics.

The leg is bad again. It still leaks off and on and right now it's infected. I'm on my second batch of antibiotics. It's not going away. What else is new.

Deb... may I suggest pouring some bubbly on it??? I know it would be a good waste of champagne, but you've tried alot more... maybe it would give it a good cleaning out...

Jackie, I haven't read these books (actually hadn't even heard of them until you started mentioning it on here), and I have a question. Is this one that the movie is better having read the books, or would you recommend see the movie and then read the books?

Jackie, thanks for the thoughts about Twilight movie/book. I have read and seen all but the last Harry Potter book and movie. I read the books before the movies, and Ken saw the movies before the books. He enjoyed the movies more than I did, but I did still enjoy them. So that was a great example

I read HP before seeing it - I think there was so much more in the books that I think some people like my nephew missed out on because they "didn't have to read the book... they watched the movie..." to which I asked him... "Does that mean you won't read the Bible because you watched the 10 Commandments???"

I won that argument... (they hate when I do that...:rotfl: )

Deb... make sure you drink some too... just in case it stings a bit... Well... drink alot actually... then pour the left overs on the leg...

Drama Mama here.....

We found out the play Molly's school is doing is going to offer only parts for 21 kids. 56 kids tried out. Lots of upset kids. One really upset mama. One of the reasons that Paul and I have liked the program so much is that is always included everyone. There are always some good parts for the good actors and singers but there are then lots of little side parts for the other kids. So of course me and my big mouth have started an issue of this travesty. The producer is new this year and I've found out that we don't see eye to eye (read he is a jerk) and sadly when I went to talk with the director (who we love) to tell him of my concerns he told me not to worry (implying that Molly had a part) and then I told him that made me even more conflicted about her being in the show, because lots of kids are getting cut. In true political fashion the director of the theater program that "usually" runs the shows is totally on my side and is ready to draw blood, as I've kept her informed of the situtation. There is a meeting going on right now about this topic. I hope that the right thing is done and they come up with a compromise that makes room for the little parts to include everyone.

I think I need to find a job because staying home just makes me have too much time on my hands for stuff like this :rolleyes1

Lot of drama about drama.

I thought the whole point of theater for kids was to try and be as inclusive as possible and get as many kids as possible involved.

It's it all about learning about the collaborative experience, team work, and nourishing budding creative talents?

The kitchen looks great, from where it was to where it is.

And you're still married.

He was completely corrupt. For everything he did on his job he demanded to be personally compensated. He dismissed the notion that he was a public servant elected by the people for the people. I'm glad he got caught.

We were talking about it with our upstairs neighbors last night (one works for the county assessor's office and the other is a cop).

It is pretty amazing. It was a given that he would not be reelected, but this was pretty amazing - even for Illinois.

I had a pretty bad night's sleep. I woke up about 3 times. I'm pretty tired now.

I also had to get up a bit earlier because of the snow storm last night

It was pretty bad, not that there was a lot of snow, but because of all the rain, then the snow showers, then the snow.

There was a nice 1 inch layer of ice under the snow, so that makes shoveling challenging. But, it's now shoveled and salted.

I delivered the first of my 4 employee reviews yesterday. An easy one. I have another 2 today. One of which is going to be difficult because it is not a good review. My boss thought I was objective and not too harsh, but I still feel bad about it and am not looking forward to today. I wish I could just get it over with.

Has anyone seen the new Wii accessory, the Wii Speak?

It is a mic and has downloadable software and allows up to 4 users, who have exchanged IDs, talk and chat via the Internet and the Wii.

I just got a headset for my Playstation 3, because it will make it easier when playing games with other people.

I tend to play with people I have met on another set of forums similar to the DIS (but for gay gamers). I'm a bit paranoid about playing with complete strangers.

I am also extremely concerned because from what I have observed, there are some parents who are not doing adequate monitoring of their children's online life.

I say this because of the sound feature, I have heard voices that I identify to be boys and girls.

It makes me EXTREMELY uncomfortable not knowing more about a person I'm playing a game with or chatting with, so I just avoid it altogether.

The people I play games with are at the youngest the age of some of the guys who work for me, and I have also "met" them in this other set of forums.

I am quite frankly a bit surprised that more parents are not a bit more aware of what their kids are doing. I see how they behave and what they say and it is my belief that they are trying to appear more mature and "cool" than they are.

----------------------------

On another note, I wish they would come out with more cooperative gaming on the Wii like they have on the PS3. It would be great to have a game night with some of you guys.

And I was going to say how great it was that you didn't have a job and had time to go to bat for more little parts so everyone is involved.

The parents of some of those other kids may not be physically able due to job requirements or emotionally able to fight this.

And all the better since Molly has a part--you are not motivated by your kid being left out as they might be.

Sour Grapes is not as effective a position as yours of asking for opportunities for others ::yes::

morning guys!

How is everyone?

Well I think we may be planning a cruise! For the cost of what we would spend on the darn BSC game we could go on a 7 night cruise in May and also probably spend a budget weekend in WDW. Amazing isn't it?

We talked last night and I am upset that as a season ticket holder we can't get tickets through the school simply becasue we don't donate enough money. $175 is face value and these are going for $1k -$1500 a pair!!! Yikes!!! That doesn't include all the extras we'd spend!

Nan - sorry to hear about the play, that stinks that they don't have lots of the side parts....I know we always had plays that included lots of people.

S - Love the kitchen! I wish we could redo ours!!

Is everyone ready for the holidays? I have not bought ONE thing!!! Not one!!!

wanna sneak in my suitcase??? I'd try it ya know :rolleyes1 :cool2:

Can you stay with us???? I'm not sure what we will have in our room to sleep on, I think a couch. I think I have asked for the room with the bunkbeds and that should leave us with another bed and a couch if my memory serves right from 3 years ago...We'd have no problem with you hanging out with us if you can endure the craziness :dance3: Come to think of it, Molly will take a spot on the floor and give you her bunk if need be because she sleeps on the floor all the time when we have just 2 bed because she thinks Wilson kicks too much, so DO IT!!!! Stay with us, :flower3: ok????

Yes I want to sneak in your suitcase :confused3

And I think Monica said "Please stop me" not please invite me :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I hate people that butt into their kid's lives so much :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Not yet. i'm going to ask them to forward any mail on to the Beach Clubif they will do so.

I would assume you would get it soon because I sent it along time ago. Hopefully they will forward for you.....I mean I think you spent enough money there.

Hi V. Hope you get to do the cruise and vacation. We are here again in May, but not cruising till September.

We get on the boat on Sat. Sept 12 and we have a two sea days on Sun and Mon. So we want to try to do it at 2pm on Sun Sept 13. That could work for you guys too. And yes, Bubba can drink Tequila instead but he has to wear the tiara and the boa! WE WANT PICS!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Who said he can drink tequila? I guess it might be okay out of a champagne glass.

Hi again folks!

It was a busy evening for us. The girls and I went out to Tim Horton's for dinner and did some Christmas shopping. The girls picked out presents for Ken. Its so cute watching them look and think about what they want to get. They had some good ideas which weren't at all realistic but interesting to hear them think about it.

Marilyn - sounds like your enjoying your vacation, but too bad that MVMCP wasn't as good as previous years.

Nan - sounds strange that the drama club is changing how its dealing with the kids. Hopefully they can find some way to include everybody since that's been the attitude in the past.

Gaylean - cute pic of Jon and baby Ethan.

Monica - I think you should go have a great time in WDW with Nan and her family.

Ian - I love your suggestion about "I want" instead of "I can't". Since we've had the kitchen reno happening I gained 5lbs because we were eating more fast food, and so there wasn't leftovers, so I was adding to my lunch from the vending machine. Last week I gave myself a mental kick in the butt and started using the WiiFit again. And I'm packing bigger lunches, so when the I start to feel I want some chips, I just say I could do it, but I WANT to lose weight and be healthier. So long way of sayaing Thanks for the idea!

Michelle - all your little comments make me smile. You are so kooky :thumbsup2 And its not -13F here yet, but its coming this weekend. YUCK!

Deb - that's ridiculous about the bus driver, but hopefully tomorrow will be better and you can sleep in. How's your leg doing?

I always let the kids pick presents for everyone from the $1.00 store. You should see the things they choose :lmao:
