Now here's a couple final pics of the kitchen.
Here's the dining area. The china cabinet, table & chairs were Ken's parent. I didn't think of it when we picked the orange paint colour, but it matches the chair seat :thumbsup2

And here's the nice new sink and counters

And here's an in-progress shot of all the cabinets

Still needs baseboards and trim around the door, but that can wait until after Christmas.:goodvibes :santa:

I say cute for you and, for Ken, it is really cool. We need new cabinets. I stained them and I don't like them. The problem is that we already replaced our counters and they weren't cheap.

Has anyone seen the new Wii accessory, the Wii Speak?

It is a mic and has downloadable software and allows up to 4 users, who have exchanged IDs, talk and chat via the Internet and the Wii.

I just got a headset for my Playstation 3, because it will make it easier when playing games with other people.

I tend to play with people I have met on another set of forums similar to the DIS (but for gay gamers). I'm a bit paranoid about playing with complete strangers.

I am also extremely concerned because from what I have observed, there are some parents who are not doing adequate monitoring of their children's online life.

I say this because of the sound feature, I have heard voices that I identify to be boys and girls.

It makes me EXTREMELY uncomfortable not knowing more about a person I'm playing a game with or chatting with, so I just avoid it altogether.

The people I play games with are at the youngest the age of some of the guys who work for me, and I have also "met" them in this other set of forums.

I am quite frankly a bit surprised that more parents are not a bit more aware of what their kids are doing. I see how they behave and what they say and it is my belief that they are trying to appear more mature and "cool" than they are.

----------------------------

On another note, I wish they would come out with more cooperative gaming on the Wii like they have on the PS3. It would be great to have a game night with some of you guys.

.

I think most parents are happy if their kids are home nowadays. It is sad for us and for them. They don't get to experience what we did and they end up doing things like what you have described. Plus kids just act older in general which is sad if you think about it because they actually are growing up slower than in other generations. I mean most older generations were taught to try and get out and make it some way or another by the time they were of legal age to do so. Now a lot of teens don't work and young adults are encouraged to stay home as long as possible. Plus who can afford an apartment now, even with a few roommates.

morning guys!

How is everyone?

Well I think we may be planning a cruise! For the cost of what we would spend on the darn BSC game we could go on a 7 night cruise in May and also probably spend a budget weekend in WDW. Amazing isn't it?

We talked last night and I am upset that as a season ticket holder we can't get tickets through the school simply becasue we don't donate enough money. $175 is face value and these are going for $1k -$1500 a pair!!! Yikes!!! That doesn't include all the extras we'd spend!

Nan - sorry to hear about the play, that stinks that they don't have lots of the side parts....I know we always had plays that included lots of people.

S - Love the kitchen! I wish we could redo ours!!

Is everyone ready for the holidays? I have not bought ONE thing!!! Not one!!!

I know what I would choose ;) Get Christmas shopping girl :scared1:

Drama Mama here.....

We found out the play Molly's school is doing is going to offer only parts for 21 kids. 56 kids tried out. Lots of upset kids. One really upset mama. One of the reasons that Paul and I have liked the program so much is that is always included everyone. There are always some good parts for the good actors and singers but there are then lots of little side parts for the other kids. So of course me and my big mouth have started an issue of this travesty. The producer is new this year and I've found out that we don't see eye to eye (read he is a jerk) and sadly when I went to talk with the director (who we love) to tell him of my concerns he told me not to worry (implying that Molly had a part) and then I told him that made me even more conflicted about her being in the show, because lots of kids are getting cut. In true political fashion the director of the theater program that "usually" runs the shows is totally on my side and is ready to draw blood, as I've kept her informed of the situtation. There is a meeting going on right now about this topic. I hope that the right thing is done and they come up with a compromise that makes room for the little parts to include everyone.

I think I need to find a job because staying home just makes me have too much time on my hands for stuff like this :rolleyes1
Nan, I can understand you being upset, but I also think kids need to know that the point of tryouts is to weed out the ones who aren't as developed in their skills so they can learn that not everybody gets to win all the time. Because in real life not everybody wins all the time, so it's good for them to learn before they're tossed out into the real world and are shocked.

Well, my computer only lasted about 15 minutes last night before shutting itself down. :scared: So I guess I really do need that new one! I decided I'm using my Christmas bonus from work to buy that for myself as my Christmas present to myself! :dance3:

And if I win the $207million Michigan MegaMillions this Friday night, that would help buy a computer AND possibly my own cruise ship! :lmao:

I feel very strongly that my 11 year old is not reading the books or seeing the movie. I feel from what I've heard that there is a strong sexual content to the story. Maybe not so much in the first books, but more later on. Also, if you see the characters don't ya think they kinda look at bit to sexy for their own good???? One of Molly's best friends has an obsession with this book/subject and has tried to get Molly and their other friend to join her. Not happening...She is even planning her 12th bday party around this theme, Molly might just miss it :rolleyes1 No reason to put a child in a place where they feel uncomfortable (as Molly would) over this kind of topic. Climbing off my soapbox now....

.

I'd say if she's not into romance yet, she won't enjoy it as much as YOU will..:lmao: It is a love story with a vampire fight scene thrown in!

I'd read the book first also...you only need to read the first one before seeing the movie. However, it was kind of fun to see characters in the film knowing what as going to happen to them next. You know, you'd sit in the theater and smirk and nod thinking "just wait, mister" :lmao:

Thank you both. I am going to tell my mom not to take her. Mom thought it looked to old for her. I will go see it soon I hope. My sister is not into love stories yet but her friends saw it. We took her to see Sisterhood of the traveling Pants 2 and I think that was not good for her. Matt refuses to see it as it is "girlie" so my friend and I will go together.

quick drive by......if anyone needs to/wants to call me over the next few days call me on my cell nbr.....Will asked me to come stay at his house for a few nights (he just got home last night & he could use the support).

I'll try to check in later tonight (not sure if he has wireless or not, or if he lets me onto his computer).

XOXOXOXO
