Wow... a job &&& a vacation... all in one week???

I know! Pretty crazy! And tomorrow, the firm where we're borrowing office space is having a party, their annual "Founder's Day" party, and they've invited us to attend because the owner wants to introduce all 5 of us to everybody there (our #5 is Mike's wife - she's doing all our computer and administrative and billing and payroll.....so ends her retirement). They shut down the office at 4, then caterers come in with dinner, beer and wine. It's a large firm with 14 lawyers. We're not even a part of their firm, so it's really nice that they're including us! Super nice people!

Kathe, no cruises planned for us. We have two dummy dates booked but I seem to have lost interest in DCL. I am not at all impressed with their new itineraries. I really am happy to just stay home for now. Glad that we splurged when we did. Lots of good memories.

Michelle, I am just now going through empty nest syndrome so I know how you feel. I had gone directly from SAHM to SAHGrandma. I miss having the girls around now that they are in school. I still have them on all of their vacations and days off but I really miss them when I only see them once a week during the school year. They help keep me sane when they aren't driving me crazy! The craziness helps keep my mind off of my troubles, though.

So Social Security Disability wants to review my case again. I fillled out pages and pages of information. That wasn't good enough. They sent me more papers to fill out. That still wasn't good enough. So now I have an appointment with their doctor mid month.

They did this to me when I first signed up with them. They made me go before a judge and the state's doctor listed five reasons why I qualified. So the judge granted me disability benefits.

Now it's nine years later and they're starting up again. They are trying to evaluate me to see if I have improved over the years. NO, actually I have gotten worse. Now they are going to make me jump through hoops again to see what my current status is. I'll probably have to get a lawyer again and go before the judge again. Why do they have to do this to people who really need it? They should go after the people who are faking it. I'm not faking it. So it begins.....

Deb, sorry this is happening. Michelle will get after them for you if you want, I'm sure! But seriously, what an ugly mess.

Yeah.. I'm going through ENS... my babies are going out into the world literally and Aunt Shell's having a hard time with it... but I'm VERY proud of all of them... they are wonderful young men and women... they amaze me every day...

I'll just have to drink tequila and get over it!!!

Mention of tequila just might bring Bubba around!

I understand about not being thrilled with the new itineraries. I'm glad you have had the chance to enjoy the cruises you have been on, and who knows, maybe 2014 will bring something exciting and affordable! Glad you have been able to enjoy your grandchildren, even though you are missing them some days now that they are in school My granddaughter is only in school every other day this year, but I hate having to plan around school days and my work days for visits!

That's all there is right now. Looking forward to getting a phone line at work, and our computers, printers, etc. That stuff starts getting installed/hooked up tomorrow and we should be fully up and running by the end of Friday. Very inefficient and confusing the way we're doing things now. We haven't even had a chance to discuss pay or our schedule or anything because of all the chaos. But we're still having fun. Mike's wife was taking pictures of all of us tonight, then had us take a picture of her sitting on his lap as he had his feet propped on the table. Just fun stuff at the end of the day. She hugs us every day and thanks us for sticking with Mike and trusting them. I've never had much contact with her in the past, but now I'm seeing how wonderful she is.

Do you have new meds yet?

And I don't mind the chaos a bit. Especially with somebody there to make me laugh every day. I think it's part of Jayson's job description to entertain me. And then we in turn entertain the others with our jabs back and forth. Our receptionist at our old firm used to say "You two are just like a bickering married couple!"

thanks for the reminder to go to bed last night... didn't work though... the 20 degree drop in temps caught up with me...

our local LL Bean store is having snow shoe lessons... I had to laugh.. we have no snow... unless they have their own rodent with a shadow that we don't know about...

The queen mum is going to have her perm today.. she will be curly and fuzzy again. She complained that she's been losing hair lately so I asked Dennis for a reccomendation for vitamins for it.. he said pre natal... I told him if I end up with a new little brother or sister I was blaming him!!!

Today I have to go to two banks for Ray. It seems that he didn't have a Will and I didn't have joint accounts with him. I had one POA account and one Federal Fiduciary account with him. Since his death, they locked me out of both accounts. One has over $3,000 and the other has over $2,000 and I can't access that money. In the meantime, I have final bills to pay for him. They are going to tell me that I have to go through Probate with the courts. UGH!! So I have to go to the banks today and close out the accounts and then I have to make an appointment with a lawyer to get the process started. What a pain in the bonzai.
