It snowed all afternoon today. We got about 4 inches. Now it has turned to rain and sleet. What a mess. I hope John will be able to get up the driveway tonight. He's got the four wheel drive Suzuki so I hope that's enough. He's not going to make it if he has to walk up this winter. His health is getting worse and not better from smoking. He's hoping to quit after he retires. I hope he can.

OMG Shell, that's a lot of snow....especially since more is coming over the weekend.

We got four inches and we're immobile until we get plowed. Hopefully our guy, James, will be here today to do so.

John is home today. He said he's not leaving the house until he gets plowed out. He cannot walk up that driveway. The car got stuck half way up last night so they had to get out and walk the rest of the way.

The kid, on the other hand, left already. He said he's going into work today. I'm so scared he's going to get into an accident. John did two donuts yesterday on the way home and he was only going 10 mph. If that happens to the kid, it will be much worse.

We're supposed to be getting more snow on Saturday. This is going to be a very white winter. I'm going to go broke. James is charging me $50 per snow plow. For my driveway that's a good price. But if it keeps snowing three times in one week, I'm going to go broke.

Why? Is it that she's stuck in the house with all the snow and unable to do the roof until it's all gone?

I don't know.. sometimes she's just cranky... old age I imagine.

I call John Grumpy when he gets like that and he just ignores me when I get like that. Everybody has their day.

OK, now that's just old age getting grumpy. My mother did that in the end and so does my Aunt right now. She's doing it as she's aging. I think it's a right of passage into old age or something because they all seem to do it. I don't know why.

At least you got a great toaster from her for Christmas. It looks awesome.

& the sliblings don't know how lucky they are!!!

I'm gonna go and suggest pizza for dinner.. she won't like it.. but we've eaten the other stuff for a few days now, and... well... I need some crappy food...

I can imagine that it could get very interesting....waking up every morning.

AND you are so right....the siblings have no clue what you deal with everyday for yourself and for mom. Even mom's healthcare is up to you to take her to appointments, etc. When you can barely take care of yourself, that's huge. I know because I have been there. Wait until all the doctor appointments are with hospital stays......it doesn't get any easier. I had to do it all and so will you, despite your own illnesses. And your siblings won't get it at all. They want you to move out and leave mom alone. Or they want her in an old person assisted facility, where she would be miserable because she is filled with too much life in her to be around people waiting to just die. They don't know you or mom very well. That would be a disaster for both of you. .....Don't get me started on your siblings.....

Go enjoy your pizza, no matter what the QM thinks about it. She doesn't have to eat it if she doesn't want to. She can have more leftovers. Then you can both be happy.

someday mom may have to go to assisted living.. but your right... being in a place with too many "old" people.. and with that I mean the ones who are not very mobile, etc... would take her down.

My sister thinks that a nice Sr. place would be better for her... she's not ready for it yet...

My mom never went in one, neither did my grandmother. Ray only went into one because he had a mental injury when he fell down the stairs. He could not take care of himself on his own. As long as the QM stays mobile and can take care of herself, she may never have to go into a place like that. She certainly is far from it now.

I'm glad she ate the pizza!

Thanks so much Shell.....I LOVE LOVE LOVE this one. I miss my turtles, but it's much easier and less expensive than having them.....especially since I had so many of them and so many tanks. I miss the sound of the water spilling over the filter like a waterfall. I had four tanks so it was loud in here. Now it's quiet.
