Oh I am no expert at all Deb, I just read about them and listen to what other cruisers' say. HAL has been recommended to us time after time but the problem with them is they allow smoking in the rooms, though they say they deal with the smell well and you can't detect any lingering smell. But it does still put me off. I really don't like trying new things and prefer what I know. I even don't want to sail on the big DCL ships because I know and like the small ones. Plus of course we are higher on the loyalty programme with DCL. But the main reason we cruised in the first place other than with DCL was the ability to leave from the UK, and now we know we like the lines we cruised on after doing that. Otherwise we might never have strayed from DCL. Now of course we check pricing too as, like you said, DCL can be expensive. Also itineraries as DCL don't always go where you want to cruise to.
