Sorry Monica it's not even 5.30pm UK time.

At least the rain has stopped so play has started on the outside courts at Wimbledon.

Ann

the rain has moved over here... at least I won't have to water anything for a while...

Hello

Just popping in to say a quick hello! Life has been busy...which seems to be the usual these days! Last week I had lunch with my SIL and got a better update on my MIL and her present condition. She is having good weeks and bad weeks. My son and nephew went to visit her last week and she was pretty good, even knew who both of them were. I am visiting her tomorrow morning before work. I hope we have a good visit too, as I haven't seen her since before the Alaskan cruise.

We had a graduation BBQ party at my son's last weekend. One of Tammy's sons was graduating high school, one primary school and one grade 3 :thumbsup2 The following day I had a day off work, but it certainly wasn't a day off! I spent 4 hrs straight in very hot weather mowing and pulling weeds. I sure wish the flowers would grow as fast as the weeds! I also had Serenity for a sleepover last week. She certainly kept me busy! We had a lot of fun. It was quite warm out. We watered flowers together, had a tea party out on the deck, baked muffins together and played in the sprinkler. I bought her a little butterfly net and bug collecting kit, which she loved. She was having trouble catching bugs, but loved using the tweezers to collect stones and pinecones and little twigs:cutie:

Last night Tammy (Brian's girlfriend) and I had a girls night out. We went out to dinner and then to the movies. Sara had to work but met us at the theatre. We saw Bridesmaids :rotfl2::rotfl2: Very funny but rather "raunchy" or "gross" in some parts ;) When we left the theatre, it was pouring rain and lightning and thundering. It has been very hot and muggy here for a few days, so we certainly needed the rain.

Today I went shopping with a friend. Loved her company and I had a great shopping day! Bought shoes which I have such a hard time finding, and a purse and a couple of tops and a summer sweater and a bathing suit :thumbsup2 Got home in time to start laundry and sit on the deck for an hour before it started getting dark. I love that it stays light until around 9:00 or so right now. It is now pouring rain and thundering and lightning again.

Tomorrow is back to work :sad2:

Hope everyone is keeping well. I think of you all often :grouphug:

Time to get back onto the Dis! Had a great time seeing many of you on the trip and missed seeing the rest of you

Hope all the Thieves have been doing well. Life has been hectic since getting home and I just haven't made it on here.

Ken & I went to Ottawa for a political convention. It was great to see our capital :) The bad part is that we missed Kaleigh's dance recital, but the girls stayed with my parents, and between my mom & sister Kaleigh was well taken care of. In fact, since my niece has been dancing for years, Kaleigh ended up getting to go into the big girl areas of the backstage with her cousin and enjoyed it. We ordered the DVD, and in a couple more weeks, we'll be able to sit and watch it with Kaleigh.

Both girls have been playing soccer, and this weekend is their final games until it starts again in Sept. I'm looking forward to not having to get kids to activities for the summer. In Sept they'll be starting with Guides/Sparks again, plus dance for both of them, and soccer.

We did get the new kayak out once. Hopefully weather will cooperate and we'll get it out again on Sunday.

Work is busy and a couple weeks ago I was told my 6month review was in March and all was good so I got a 6% raise back-dated to March. So that was great. Still no idea if I'll still have a job at the end of the year, but hopefully there'll be a position there for me.

Kathe and Shannon, you've both been so busy! Glad to see you both pop on here! :grouphug:

And Shannon, congrats on the raise! :thumbsup2

Hi Kathe :yay:

Hi Shannon!!! :flower3:

good to see you back here!

So... Holly... you forgot to mention how that date with the other guy from way back when went... did it happen yet?

Hi all!!

Dad is safe & sound in Maryland w/ my sister.

Today is my dear nephew Ian's 15th birthday....I already called him and wished him a happy birthday & told him I loved him.

I spent a while last night re-arranging my new office.....I decided that I will move my scrapbooking stuff into that same room & transform the scrapbooking room into my guest bedroom. Figure that way, my parents won't need to worry about bothering me while I work (when they come up next) and if it's slow at work, I can scrapbook ;) Moved a bunch of furniture/shelves last night and will do a little bit more today (I hope).

This weekend should have me mostly finished in there, then tackling the guest bedroom. I will be taking my car into my mechanic to have him check it out & let me know if there is anything wrong with it. If there is, then I will need to have whatever fixed while it's under warrenty.

Hi Kathe!!

Hi Shannon!!

Good to see you here.....sounds like you are both ubber busy & you make me tired just reading what you're doing :lmao:

Kathe - I  the vision I got when reading about Serenity and the butterfly net/bug collecting kit. Of course, I visualize Sydney, but it's the same thing :cutie:

Shannon - way to go on the raise!!! That's fab! Looking forward to pics in the new kayak. Hi to Ken & the girls.

It didn't happen. It was supposed to happen this past Sunday, we were just waiting for me to find out what time I had to be with my family and were going to do lunch or dinner depending on what time I had available. When I told him I had to be at my sister's at 3 and would be there quite late, meaning I was only available for lunch, he told me that wouldn't work and we'd have to reschedule. I reminded him that he also wanted to do dinner and a movie the following weekend (which would be this coming weekend) and I never heard back from him. Oh well.....C'est la vie! ;)

Wow, can you come help me with my house next? :rotfl2: I need your motivation!

well...my plans for tonight just got changed. A friend of mine from Maryland just let me know she's here & wants to do dinner tonight. So, I will give up manual labor :rotfl2: for a nice dinner with a friend.

My motivation for the office is the fact that the new job starts on the 6th. I have to take pics and send it in to the powers that be to show my space.

Guest bedroom just needs to be done by the time my parents come next - probably Sept/Oct :rotfl:

YOUR motivation will be back in about 1 1/2 weeks!

Sounds like a perfect plan! :)

Well... it's raining here... what else is new...

I think a pair of baby bunnies have moved into my garage... my door is still broken and I went out to put in the garbage can last night and I saw one of them skitter out to the lawn. I saw them the other night ON the lawn... curled up in a little ball together. I had gone out to water the flowers and saw them when I pulled the hose past them. I quickly put the hose away and didn't go near them. I haven't seen mamma around (that doesn't mean she isn't...) so I'll keep an eye on it for now.

Hi Michelle :yay:

Hi Monica and Holly and Shannon :)

It sounds to me like you've all been busy too lately!

Monica, hope you enjoyed your dinner and catching up with your friend tonight :goodvibes

I had my visit with my in-laws before work this morning. We were all very thankful that we were able to have a visit after what happened yesterday. They were in a car accident yesterday  They were sitting in their car waiting for a red light to turn green. Someone ran the red light, but was hit by a truck going through on the green light. The impact sent the car crashing into my in-laws car. My in-laws are in their mid-eighties, and were so lucky to only have some bruising and a few small cuts. They were taken to the hospital in an ambulance, but were released a few hours later. The air bags were deployed, so my MIL has a lot of soreness in her chest, but we are all so thankful they are alive. The car will be a write off. I thought my MIL would be so upset by all of this, but she was quite relaxed, and knew exactly who I was and where I worked and who my children were and who Serenity was...so it was a good visit :goodvibes

So I am reminded once again to be thankful for each and every day.
