He's doing 2 weeks because he did 1 week last year and did well. It's his 3rd year (the first year he just did a 3-day mini-camp for first timers). He was so excited about it all weekend, knowing his dad would be picking him up Sunday to drop him off there. He told me he was just worried about one thing. He says he has no problem with being away from his dad for 2 weeks because he will see his pictures all over camp, and last 2 times even stayed in the same cabin as his dad (his dad's name is still carved under one of the bunks, LOL!), so he feels like he'll sort of see him the whole time, but was worried about being away from me for 2 weeks. I reminded him that I'd already worked it out to visit in between the first and 2nd week and he was relieved and excited at the idea of getting to show me all around.

The person I spoke with today suggested I show up at 10am Saturday (because parents picking kids up should be gone by then) and I can sign him out for lunch, and spend the afternoon with him, as much time as I want. They said kids doing 2 weeks often have this arrangement, especially the younger ones, so they don't get homesick when they see parents picking up other kids. He can also receive mail, so he's asked me to write every day and send him pictures of me and all the pets.
