After shoe shopping for Tyler, we came home with a big bag of fireworks, waited until dark, and one neighbor came out to watch after we started lighting them off. :thumbsup2 She asked if she could go with us to see fireworks tomorrow night, so that means I have to clean out the car, LOL! ;)

Off to bed, up early tomorrow!

Very cool!!!! Wish we could buy them here. Residents are only allowed to buy the lame ones. Out of staters are allowed to buy the good ones. What did you get? Hope you had a blast....get it....haha. It must be late....hahaha.

Everybody's still MIA? Wow! :rotfl2:

Totally exhausted after hours of swimming and water slides at the pool. Quick supper, Tyler's sleeping again. Poor kid is sleeping lots this weekend, camp wore him out! Leaving for fireworks in about an hour. I'd like a nap too, but a shower is more important for now. :thumbsup2 One of Tyler's friends is dropping her off at our house in an hour so she can go with us to watch fireworks. This is the girl who we took to the circus and she was so upset that I wouldn't buy lots of things for her. I reminded her before we left the pool that I won't be bringing money to buy things, but her mom is welcome to send money with her in case she wants to buy something. I'm so grateful Tyler never asks for things when we're out. He knows we eat and drink before we go, or bring our own if it's allowed. :thumbsup2

How rude of her to ask and how sad of her not to know better. I'm assuming that she's around Tyler's age. But you handled it very well. Good for Tyler too to always do the right thing. Sounds like it was a fun day anyway.

We did fireworks last night and BBQ today. Tomorrow is just a bonus day.

Now if you were catholic... I'd worry...

Spent today quiet... several thunder storms went through. wont' have to water for days again...

Had to go to the DINER for breakfast this morning... as Olivers took their yearly vacation. They won't be back until next tuesday... I'm gonna SOO need my benny by then... :upsidedow

Hang in there Shell....you can do it. It's only two Sundays and one is done already. hahaha.

For Kathe and anyone who didn't see it on FB....this is what John and I are doing next July 4th because it will be our last one up north before John retires and we move to Florida. So we're splurging and doing it up in style.....Macy's has THE BEST fireworks I have ever seen.....that includes Disney. I used to watch every year that I lived in the city. Here's the link:

It's expensive, but worth it. They go out from 6pm to 11pm on the 4th. The price includes an open bar all night, a buffet, music and dancing, entertainment and Macy's fireworks under the Brooklyn Bridge. You basically sail around NY harbor, past the Statue of Liberty and then stay stationary to watch the show in the sky. I can't wait to do it. John and I will love it. Anyone who wants to join us is certainly welcome. I can't book until January. I always say the more the merrier. I hope they have good champagne onboard.

Some bottle rockets, which are illegal, but are still sold in all the stores (anything that leaves the ground is illegal, but can be bought anywhere and is not enforced), fountains, jumping jacks, Roman candles, and just a bunch or stuff. It was great fun! :)

Yes, she's 9 like Tyler. They've been buddies since kindergarten. Surprisingly, she didn't ask for anything when we took her to see fireworks tonight. Her mom did send $5 with her in case she wanted something. We actually had a great time! :)

I've done both the NY and NJ spirit cruises. It should be fun. especially if you do it in NYC... :woohoo:

I'm not going to be able to do the July 20th because it's only two months after the Hawaiian. Also, I looked it up and it's $5k for 5122 on an 8 night going to Nassau and CC and Port Canaveral. John refuses to go back to Nassau one more time.....hahaha.

For half that amount I can take John North on a 5 night and have a sea day, then Halifax Nova Scotia and then Saint John New Brunswick and then another sea day. It would be going to places that we have never been to before and it would be four months after Hawaii.

Sorry I'm going to miss you Nana, but I just can't do it going South in the Summer. I hope you and Molly get to do it and me and John will meet you in NYC for some fun before and/or after cruise. Dinner and cocktails sound good to me.....you gotta eat/drink!!

Deb - no comment from us until I see the prices as well - at 5K we can't do it either - better go look:surfweb: and figure it out - I have about 3 dummies and no plans for them :sad2:

HAPPY

JULY

4TH!!!

I'm thinking everyone's enjoying the holiday???

I guess. I keep checking on and off to see if anything new is here. ;)

We're done. I had a half hour nap, Tyler is sleeping now and told me no more celebrating and no more vacations. :rotfl2: He's worn out! I have no idea when his dad will pick him up, but Tyler's gonna be pissed if he has to go see fireworks again tonight, LOL!

NICE...you got some good ones. We have all those in the stores here, but you can only buy them with an out of state license. Go figure. Glad you had fun!!

Oh good. All's well that ends well. It sounds like her mom had a talk with her. That's good. She needs to learn the right thing to do. Sounds like she did. That's awesome and you were all able to have fun....that's great!!

Very nice! You'll have a wonderful time! :)

I know right. It's very expensive. But it's once in a lifetime so we'll do it. It will be nice to say that we did and to have that experience to remember and take with us to our new home. :goodvibes

Awwww.....too funny.

I've done both the NY and NJ spirit cruises. It should be fun. especially if you do it in NYC... :woohoo:

I've done them on Long Island....we used to do them all the time for mom on mother's day. I've done them in Virginia Beach and we saw the Magic in dry dock when we did. And I've done them in Philadelphia on the 4th of July with fireworks. That was great, but they were not as good as Macy's NYC.

I know. I hear what you're saying. I'm paying $6k for 5122 to Hawaii for 15 nights. Very worthwhile. Since I only cruise in 5122, to spend $5k for Nassau for 8 nights...just isn't worth it. The cruise up north in Sept shows on the website for about $2.5k for 5 nights in 5122. With my dummy date, I'm hoping it comes out just over $2k....out of NY for us....it's worth it!!!

If you do it, we'll make a date to meet. But I completely understand if you don't do it.

Hi Holly!!! Happy 4th of July!!! I know that you're having a great time if Tyler is so puckered out. Poor baby. Can't handle all the activities and parties....hahaha. It's really tough when you spend too much of your time celebrating and on vacations. Mom PLEASE STOP!!!! hahaha. He cracks me up!!!
